Davey84 Posted January 9, 2024 at 10:31 PM Posted January 9, 2024 at 10:31 PM Well she didn't cover ILY for no reason! I love Faith too, Cry would have been an album Céline could have released! Such a shame she semi retired! TommKat22 Posted January 10, 2024 at 01:03 AM Posted January 10, 2024 at 01:03 AM I love Faith Hill. She was huge back in the 90s/early 2000s. She basically unofficially retired from music, other than performing with Tim McGraw. Me too! She has a great voice! ☺️ Quote Tommy
TommKat22 Posted January 31, 2024 at 01:10 AM Posted January 31, 2024 at 01:10 AM I saw that DJ Snake posted a heart on her Instagram post about the documentary. Would be cool if she collaborated with him! 1 Quote Tommy
MaiconSC Posted January 31, 2024 at 02:04 AM Posted January 31, 2024 at 02:04 AM I love some ballads from Faith Hill... she has a beautiful voice... her christmas album is good to hear... I already posted before, but that comes to my mind... "Naked" was intended for Faith Hill, but ended up being in Celine's repertoire... Here you can hear one of the background singers of the track talking about it.. 4 Quote
scielle Posted February 3, 2024 at 05:19 PM Posted February 3, 2024 at 05:19 PM A mini Céline mention in this feature story about Yannick Nezet Seguin. It’s mostly about his work for Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, but also about his career in general: https://macleans.ca/culture/yannick-nezet-seguin/ Quote
scielle Posted February 10, 2024 at 02:20 PM Posted February 10, 2024 at 02:20 PM (edited) Juno award nominations were announced this week and leading the pack again is Charlotte Cardin. So to celebrate, here’s her cover of PQTME from a few months ago - Look out for her at the NBA All-Star game, she’s supposed to perform the Canadian anthem. P.S. How do you embed YT links in here so the video show up in the tread itself? It use to happen automatically but doesn’t look like that’s the case anymore? (Much like tweet embedding no longer works.) Edited February 10, 2024 at 02:26 PM by scielle Quote
scielle Posted February 13, 2024 at 01:49 PM Posted February 13, 2024 at 01:49 PM Disclaimer: Celine tangential, perhaps a stretch. If you haven't yet watched Past Lives, one of the Best Picture nominees at this year's Oscars, I highly recommend it. Directed by Korean-Canadian director Celine Song, who has been nominated and won numerous awards for it this season (and many say she should have been nominated for the directing Oscar, too).Anyway, she immigrated to Canada at age 12, around 2000, and needed a Western name. They went with Celine. When asked about it in interview, she said: “My dad insists it’s from a French film, ‘Célline and Julie Go Boating,’ ” says Song, whose father is a filmmaker. “But I feel like there just happened to be a Celine Dion CD lying around.” 3 Quote
catlovergirl1982 Posted February 13, 2024 at 11:11 PM Posted February 13, 2024 at 11:11 PM I love Faith Hill. She was huge back in the 90s/early 2000s. She basically unofficially retired from music, other than performing with Tim McGraw. Yea I like Faith Hill very much too, I bought quite a few of her CDs in the 90s & early 2000s as well, just like I have with Celine CDs too of course lol, (but now ever since then I have switched to I-Tunes Music & Amazon Music over the years, & stopped buying physical CDs/DVDs/VHS tapes, etc a long time ago & went "digital" with my music/movie/TV show/book collections years ago since the late 2000s/beginning of 2010s after the purchases of my first Amazon Kindle, my very first Android smartphone, my first very own Windows laptop, etc, & I prefer using digital entertainment anyway as a busy mother lol, & my kids are of course really into digital entertainment as being in the 'Gen Alpha' generation lol.) So I have built up a collection of over 2,000+ songs (close to 3,000) on my I-Tunes account, (& I also have downloaded music on my Amazon Music, which I can use as a long time Amazon Prime member,) & I have a lot of Faith Hill songs, & other country singers & groups as well as of course Celine songs & many other singers & groups in my playlists as well. Country is one of the only "current" genres I listen to, besides Soft Rock/Adult Contemporary, which is Celine's genre of music. (Most of the music I listen to is older/classic, such as from the 2000s, 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, etc, I do not really care for most of today's music, I just can not stand the vast majority of it, except for country & soft rock, which most of it is still good to listen to. & speaking of Faith Hill, it is a bummer that she stopped recording new songs & albums a long time ago, & performs mostly with her husband, Tim McGraw, at his concerts & tours. & luckily Tim is still recording & releasing new songs & albums over the years, I loooove me some Tim McGraw too! I happened to see them both in concert at a Country Music Festival at a Carnival with several other country singers & groups in the late 90s when I was a teenager... & let me tell you, I think they did put on a GREAT SHOW! They are both not only very talented on their own, but they also perform very well together too, they really make a great couple together, & have been together for like almost 30 years now, whew! It certainly wouldn’t hurt Celine to collaborate with a young artist. Chantemoi Posted May 10, 2024 at 09:33 PM Posted May 10, 2024 at 09:33 PM Stand up comedians Matteo Lane, Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin named their favorite Pop Divas, and as it turns out, Fortune Feimster chose Céline as her “old school” diva. She says she saw Céline twice in concert, and the only disappointment came when she stopped singing to go on a diatribe about a certain superhero movie LOL The majority of their discussion of Céline happens in the last 10-15 minutes. 2 Quote

I wish we had gotten more of it over her career. Quote
