ryba Posted May 14, 2024 at 06:59 AM Posted May 14, 2024 at 06:59 AM Side note here, it's quite rare we hear Celine singing with other professional female singers. I wish we had gotten more of it over her career.she actually only recorded with Barbara Straisand. The rest of her duets she did with male singers. Its quite interesting Quote

jpatdeleon09 Posted May 15, 2024 at 02:57 AM Posted May 15, 2024 at 02:57 AM (edited) Well, I remember a fan if Celine is ok to have a collab with Mariah and she said yes. The question is does Mariah wants to collab with Celine….. that is the question. What’s good about mariah is if she wants her name to be known to the new generation. She collabs with the new gen singers. And she has more time actually since she doesn’t tour or make shows a lot than Celine Edited May 15, 2024 at 02:59 AM by jpatdeleon09 Quote
jpatdeleon09 Posted May 15, 2024 at 02:58 AM Posted May 15, 2024 at 02:58 AM (edited) I guess Celine can have a collaboration with the new gen singers if she stops touring or doing residencies and focus only on making an album. Because these shows are keeping her so busy. Edited May 15, 2024 at 02:59 AM by jpatdeleon09 1 Quote

Very cool! And I like this idea of “traveling EPs”. This is off of one released today called “A week in Nashville” (recorded during a trip there) and last year she did an EP called “Une semaine à Paris”. Nice way to see the world and create art in the process. 1 Quote

PuraVida Posted May 23, 2024 at 02:30 AM Posted May 23, 2024 at 02:30 AM she actually only recorded with Barbara Straisand. The rest of her duets she did with male singers. Its quite interesting I almost wonder if it's a conscious decision. I mean, she reached the peak when she recorded with the best possible partner (Barbra), so anything after that would be a comedown. Another related side note, we need the full HD performance of her singing "A World To Believe In" from TCWT in Tokyo. Quote

Other than Barbra, there are two studio duets with women that I can think of - Vois Comme C'est Beau with Claudette (which you can probably disregard given it was 1985 and it's with her sister), and A World To Believe In with Yuna Ito in 2008 (which was likely an afterthought, studio-generated duet with Yuna Ito recording new vocals much later). AutoCorrect keeps wanting to call her Tuna Ito, which is entertaining me this morning. 4 Quote

PuraVida Posted May 23, 2024 at 08:42 PM Posted May 23, 2024 at 08:42 PM I wonder if other female singers were intimidated to sing with her. Remember Gloria Esteban quoting the SNL skit "you're going to blow me away. " That's funny, I was just watching that video the other day. It made me laugh - and Celine got a chuckle out of it too initially Then Gloria referenced it one too many times and she said "hey stop that" I love that they were close enough that Gloria felt she could tease Celine. 1 Quote
