Celeb love for Celine

Side note here, it's quite rare we hear Celine singing with other professional female singers. I wish we had gotten more of it over her career.

she actually only recorded with Barbara Straisand. The rest of her duets she did with male singers. Its quite interesting

They did record it in the studio tho! Céline has 2 recorded duets with woman, and well a few live, the ones from Sur Les Plaines (Nanette Workman and Ginette Reno)

Well, I remember a fan if Celine is ok to have a collab with Mariah and she said yes. The question is does Mariah wants to collab with Celine….. that is the question.

What’s good about mariah is if she wants her name to be known to the new generation. She collabs with the new gen singers. And she has more time actually since she doesn’t tour or make shows a lot than Celine

I guess Celine can have a collaboration with the new gen singers if she stops touring or doing residencies and focus only on making an album. Because these shows are keeping her so busy. Edited by jpatdeleon09

Charlotte Cardin has a new song that mentions Celine. I won’t spoil it but I think it was sweet.

Very cool!

And I like this idea of “traveling EPs”. This is off of one released today called “A week in Nashville” (recorded during a trip there) and last year she did an EP called “Une semaine à Paris”. Nice way to see the world and create art in the process.

I almost wonder if it's a conscious decision. I mean, she reached the peak when she recorded with the best possible partner (Barbra), so anything after that would be a comedown.

Another related side note, we need the full HD performance of her singing "A World To Believe In" from TCWT in Tokyo.

Other than Barbra, there are two studio duets with women that I can think of - Vois Comme C'est Beau with Claudette (which you can probably disregard given it was 1985 and it's with her sister), and A World To Believe In with Yuna Ito in 2008 (which was likely an afterthought, studio-generated duet with Yuna Ito recording new vocals much later).

AutoCorrect keeps wanting to call her Tuna Ito, which is entertaining me this morning.

I wonder if other female singers were intimidated to sing with her. Remember Gloria Esteban quoting the SNL skit "you're going to blow me away. "

That's funny, I was just watching that video the other day. It made me laugh - and Celine got a chuckle out of it too initially biggrin2.gif Then Gloria referenced it one too many times and she said "hey stop that" giggle.gif I love that they were close enough that Gloria felt she could tease Celine.

She also did the Ginette Reno duo (+ Jean-Pierre Ferland, so actually a trio):

And 'When I fall in love' with Anne Murray:

Those are live duets, though - Céline has performed live with lots of other female singers over the years. We were talking about studio recordings.

Adele is really a Celine fan. I’m so glad that she is. Even an eaten bubble gum of Celine Dion is in Adele’s home in a frame LOL

Celine is a global treasure. Who else is so loved ? The tragic few years have tightened that regard. She’s a global megastar. She makes others look rather low grade 🤣❤️

Did they really hire a new intern for social media?

Yes the new intern is 70 year old granny instead of 82 year old granny. But babysteps.

Juno award nominations were announced this week and leading the pack again is Charlotte Cardin.
