I'll probably be hated for this, but I feel underwhelmed. Need to hear it a few times and I'm sure I'll grow to like it. Having said that, Céline's voice is in top condition and her phrasing is heart-melting.

 

Her accent sounds a lot more French that I'm used to now, more like it was at the start of her English career.

There's a good chance...

i can totally see this song nominated for oscars next year, it fits all the criteria of a perfect disney song, and the oscars love disney songs.

 

It would be amazing for Céline to win two Academy Awards for the "same" movie with a 26 year difference...and the fact that they included new songs into the soundtrack is clearly for the awards bet.

 

Had my doubts but the song is truly a gem.

I think it's gorgeous. Her vocal on this track is stellar, and you can tell she's actually feeling what she's singing about. I have to admit that I was hoping for something a little more contemporary in the arrangement, something that didn't sound too much like a song from a broadway musical. But then I dialed myself back and reminded myself that it is in fact for a Disney movie, and for that it is absolutely perfect. I love it. All the feels!

- I like the first time she sings "how" in a soft, breath-y way...

 

- we have to KNOWrrrr some bad times... is classic Celine accent

 

- the third "How does a moment last forever" (right after the bridge/instrumental), I like how despite the build up of the song she still starts with the soft breathy "how" and continues with a regular chest voice with"does a mo---" then shifts to a falsetto "--- ent last." So many things went on vocally in that single line.

 

- the way she sung "love is beauty, love is pure"... i promise she could have sung this in the Miracle album.

 

- her signature melisma at the end (ur song lives OOONNNN)... i know she does this a lot, but Im trying to remember which particular song did she do this exact same melisma...

The production quality is superb, the orchestra and piano is just amazing. Her accent on certain words is a little strong and hard to figure out what she is saying. I feel like earlier she wanted to make sure she sounded like she spoke perfect English. Her accent seems to be more prevalent in song and some words the French nasal tonality is very noticeable, but still this is a perfect Disney classic, and glad Celine chose to sing it!

The only thing I didn't like about the song is the excessive use of the accordin. I prefer more of the pop disney, instead of the folky disney.

 

But nevertheless i like the song and her voice is in great shape!

Kevin Kline and Emma Watson's versions are beautiful also, though I prefer Kevin's over Emma's.

 

Days in the Sun is also a beautiful update to "Human Again"...

I was also wondering why they didnt give Belle her big song the way they did with Beast (evermore)...

 

In the animated version, thats one of the things I noticed: Beast didnt have his own song, and Belle - while she has the quirky and fun "Belle" song - doesn't have her big dramatic ballad.

Yes! A lot of songs has that melisma... Right now I remember of My Precious One (that hight part near the end), That's The Way It Is (the beginning), Prayer (not too similar, but the instruments remember a little the introduction or the end)... And I know there are more, I just can't figure it now... Maybe from LTAL album...

Disney should upload the song ay midnight to their Vevo account just like they did with the 2 other "pop" songs and Céline should share it on her social media

About the accent I did not notice, maybe because I do not speak English very well, but I remember a debutant at the beginning of her career where a US presenter says that Celine has no accent in the songs, but they may have put the accent on purpose Why Bela and the film are happening in France, maybe, I do not know.

 

I liked the song and I hope it has some kind of publicity.

celine has the perfect voice for disney songs. she already has a timeless classic with beauty and the best and this could become one as well. i can only imagine how she would have sounded if she sang colors of the wind from pocahontas or a whole new world from aladdin

Oh my word, such a beautiful song.... i love to hear her accent when she sings in English, you can hear it quite a lot in this song. It is cute for me. I really love the song, and can say, there is my Celine and my girl, just by hearing the accent. I love her so that's one thing i hope she never looses, and you're right Stevo,when you say, I love how she does everything.....

I actually love her accent here because, i dont know if they did that on purpose, it sounded more neutral... she pronounces every word clearly... probably so that non-English speakers especialy kids would understand the lyrics of the song...

The more i listen to it the more I like it. My best part of the song is that beautiful melody at 1:50 where she does that angelic thing with her voice.

It is definately a beautiful song! Btw do you feel that the lyrics are quite intense for her to sing. It is an emotional song and she delivers.

as much as i like her version - of this girl who posted her cover on YouTube earlier, i don't like that she came earlier with the song and steals the specialness away from Celine

and I hope people are not going to compare the song with hers, as if she was the Original singer of the song. Don't get me wrong she sings very nice, but she could have waited before putting it online. just my 2 cents..
