Céline RO Posted April 7, 2020 at 03:24 PM Posted April 7, 2020 at 03:24 PM Hopefully the last show at the La Défense Arena will indeed be broadcast, regardless of when that may be. I think the Courage World Tour would make for an amazing DVD. The setlist may not be impressive but the stage and visuals are spectacular, more so than the 2016/2017 tours. 2 Quote The best is yet to come...

I found new footage of them recording inside the Colosseum as the crowd was gathering to grab drinks and merch during the last shows so clearly even there they had some sort of purpose but I just do not understand why she continuously shelves everything. Can we not start a petition and get it to Sony??? I mean really the main point is to make them see a. that demand is there and b. a physical release is not necessary it can just be streamed on youtube for gods sake they can ask for a donation too in order to watch it give it to a charity of her choice just something ANYTHING. For those wondering this is what The Red Heads said about the 2017 tour. I emailed them today asking them to inquire again as well as about the Vegas footage:A recording of the show was in place in Paris by Carson Prod. However, this recording is intended solely for the purpose of archiving and promotion (extracts for television programs). At this time, a Blu-Ray / DVD is not written in the stars.https://www.facebook.com/celinedionaddicts/posts/10156518627248228:0 1 Quote

Kristinaz Posted June 13, 2020 at 08:58 PM Posted June 13, 2020 at 08:58 PM (edited) You're never going to know why things don't get released. Nor are you, or "the fans" as a group, ever going to get her team or Sony to release anything they don't want released or before they want it released. Just let go, think about something else, and maybe one day you'll receive a nice little surprise. I haven't said like two words since maybe November I've been gone from the forum due to a lot of personal issues. I have barely thought about Celine the last 6 months or so due to that. So actually I had let it go for a very long time because I was trying to be positive. The main reason I came back here was cause it was one year since the end of Vegas and I was like wow a year has passed I haven't been on the forum in ages lemme go back! And also because I like many of us are waiting the re-scheduled Courage tour dates. Think of something nice, seriously is that possible right now? No disrespect and I'm not trying to attack you here but we're living in a world of horrible tragedies right now from covid-19 to killings which were not justified. This whole year is just so backwards for everyone and being quarantined as I'm sure most of us know can get on everyone's nerves. I'm just frustrated because I am seeing so many artists doing things and releasing stuff they never planned on releasing just to keep their fans' spirits up and here is Celine doing nothing. Granted yes she owes us nothing and she herself has worked non stop and not had a chance to breathe much either. But as I've stated many times if all she is going to do is shelve every single show she records then what in the world is even the point of spending the time and effort to even get the equipment to bother recording it. Take the screen footage off the screen and put it into you archives and be done with it if that's all she wants the footage for. It's the exact same thing MJ did. Luckily for MJ fans through much pressure Sony finally released the Bad tour on dvd using screen footage 20 years on. They are more then fine spending the money to get all this equipment to record 4 separate nights but say it's too expensive to bother editing it and such? Like really? And also Celine herself wouldn't even have to lift a finger it would be other people doing all this not her. Sorry once again I am not mad at you I am just extremely tired of her team giving us the same old excuse each time it is brought up. In this day and age it isn't that hard to release something anything. It would help even hype the tour re-starting if she released something close to the restart. With technology such as iTunes, youtube, live streams etc it isn't that hard it doesn't have to be a physical copy anymore. Edited June 13, 2020 at 09:17 PM by Kristinaz 3 Quote

I know but all your frustrations aren’t going to make Sony release this stuff. And none of us will ever know why they don’t release this stuff. SuperLove said he thought they were maybe holding it all until she’s dead. I don’t think they’ll hold onto it that long. I think that, when she’s in her 70s and she simply can’t do 120 shows on a tour (think Streisand, Midler, Turner, etc.) THAT’S when they’ll release all of this old material and it can help to supplement Celine’s income since she won’t able to do as many shows. That’s just my theory. As I’ve said numerous times, there are so many different business reasons that could go into these decisions that trying to figure it out is only going to make your head spin. It does make my head spin I agree for sure. And I also doubt they will hold onto it until she's dead. I like you think it will prob come out sooner then that. I also wonder when Celine will be in her 70's how many of us will still be around well I am not saying we will be dead but how many of us will care about a show which will be over 20 years old. I know I sound like a hypocrite considering it worked in MJ's case. I do hope they release it sooner. I was reading on the Red Heads post someone said they may just be holding onto it for Christmas or next year considering COVID ended up side tracking a lot of stuff. I don't know I guess I just really want something new to watch in professional quality. I'm tired re-watching AND/TTEOTW/ and USF. Atleast with the 2016 show I can say we saw some of it in Access Ilimite. Edited June 13, 2020 at 11:11 PM by Kristinaz 1 Quote

Kristinaz Posted June 14, 2020 at 12:20 AM Posted June 14, 2020 at 12:20 AM (edited) Are we seriously comparing Michael Jackson to Celine? I love both, but MJ was leaps and bounds above her in every aspect of artistry. I'm not comparing them in terms of artistry. I just meant that MJ like Celine filmed everything for his own archive much like Celine. What I was trying to say essentially was Sony had zero plans to release the BAD tour on dvd at the time in 88/89 hence no filming was done. After MJ's death his 20 year deal with Pepsi ended which is what stopped them initially from producing a dvd for the BAD tour. When this contract ended after his death there was mass petitioning from his fans for that show to be released. Since it wasn't filmed all they did have was the screen footage he had saved in his home so they took that and remastered it and released it to dvd. What I was trying to get at is whenever we ask for a dvd Celine's team claims it's too expensive to produce a physical dvd. Fair enough then why bother even filming 4 nights with multiple cameras if it's so expensive. Isn't filming expensive in itself? Don't start me on the fact that in this day in age an official release does not have to be a physical release we have Netflix we have HBO, Amazon Prime etc So if she doesn't have plans to ever release the dang thing then take the screen footage as MJ did and keep it in your archives for your own sake since this they claim is the sole reason she filmed the 2017 mini tour.
