i told you already! i’ve edited it and the part you hear is the album version in the background! it’s not lipped at all.. and if u look up the original performance you’ll see

so they played her own vocals in the background. Maybe to make it sound stronger in case she struggles with the high note. Or maybe she was supposed to lip it, but forgot. Why else would they play the album version in the background? Edited November 4, 2020 at 02:14 PM by ryba

Ironically, the studio version is much less powerful and sounds awkward in my opinion. Why would she want to lip to that when she could hit the note much better live?

It's definitely an echo and definitely live. The bordeaux show which i was at she was shakey as hell on that and it was the first night she note changed to that way of singing it.

 

Also think of an echo like MHWGO on ACDS dvd.

Are you implying that Céline and her technicians use extra effects (supplements, filler vocals, backing track, whatever) whenever she’s being filmed for a broadcast?

Not necessarily, though most of that is taken care of post editing.. still, sound can be manipulated thru effects. A simple echo to draw out the note is nothing. The echo ending is better sounding more haunting than belting outta breath to an abrupt end, most of them..Even the bootleg chicago mhwgo 1998 you can hear an echo on the ending note (and ACDS and the millennium livestream), but not so much new York. It's an effect I'm sure they can easily tweak and play with.

It’s like Mariah always uses effects for her belts and whistles. These effects can make the sound even more better. I like reverbs and delays. That’s why I wish Céline’s sound guy should make these effects so she won’t sound dry in live and in proshots

Apparently both audios had been available on VHMedia's website for the past two years. I took a look at their site but unfortunately they don't have more Celine audios.

I think those are probably the same sort of thing we saw with the pro-audio of Tous Les Blues from the CWT rehearsals... they probably record a vocal from one of the dress rehearsals and send it off to the company who are providing the lights and effects to finalise their design or base some of it off of
