Review - Part 3

The Fans

This is the final part of my review and I think the only one that could potentially cause some controversy. So please read what I am saying with an open mind. I will only be stating facts and then my opinion on what happened. To check these facts you can direct questions to CelinesDIVO5 who was with me all the time.

As I said in the first part of my review, me and CelinesDIVO5 were waiting for Celine in the lobby of Hyatt Regency Hotel. Next to us there were two women, ages between 55 and 60 I would say. They identified we were fans and they started talking about Celine. The first one with the blonde hair said Celine has a reputation of being obnoxious and rude to her fans, to which we replied that we were not aware of such incidents. CelinesDIVO5 said he had met Celine and that she was very friendly and even took a photo with her. The second woman, who had red hair, said she saw Celine in person and that she looked 'very ugly'. I explained that Celine usually does not wear any make up when she moves in and out of hotels. After that I never talked with them. CelinesDIVO5 who is a more positive and friendlier person than I am kept discussing with them. To me, they were non-existent. Just about 20 minutes of discussion went by until my ear got that these two ladies WERE ACTUAL FANS WHO HAD PAID A TICKET TO ATTEND THE CONCERT! You can imagine my surprise. After a few minutes, a third woman, the one with the broken leg who lied to Celine that she had hurt her leg in her attempt to take a ticket, told us that she had seen Celine and that she looked very 'frail and old'. Another fan who not only attended the concert but was also the first one to take a selfie with Celine.

During the concert we were seated in Block E, row 2. On my left I had CelinesDIVO5 and on my right side I had a couple, a man and a woman. The woman was a huge Celine fan, she really loved her, while the man was there because of his partner. They gave me the impression that she had actually dragged him there. Same goes for a heterosexual couple that were sitting right in front of me. Both were cold during the concert, but the man was also making it clear that he was there because of his woman, at some point he hugged the man next to me as if they were going through this together.

Other than that, as far as I could see, nobody shared my excitement for this concert. There were people enjoying themselves but to me watching Celine perform was like a sacred thing. It annoyed me that the couple next to me would talk during Recovering. Celine was pouring her soul out and the man interrupted my experience of witnessing Celine singing Recovering to offer me a drink! If they were I looked at him could kill, then he would be dead. He destroyed the moment for me. Same goes for Love Of My Life when two girls started taking selfies smiling like dumb chicks, instead of being at awe for having Celine in front of them sing.

I am one of the few members here, if not the only one, who never agreed with the notion that the audience of her tours exclusively consists of hardcore fans, her 'real fans', like many of you say, unlike the audience in Vegas which consists of 'rich, drunken tourists'. To me, this particular concert confirmed that I was right. There are MANY generic fans in her concerts and even people who are very disrespectful. I basically got to know 5 people, out of which only 1 was a true fan, the lady next to me. I cannot speak of Vegas, as I have never attended a single show there. But as far as her tours are concerned, next time I see any of you perpetuating the notion that only hardcore fans go to her concerts outside Vegas, I will be calling you out on it. I have not lied about a single thing in this post, hope you believe that. As I said, CelinesDIVO5 was there and can confirm what I say.

All in all, the concert was amazing. Had the audience been more engaging (except for songs like TT, ABM, BYLM, TSMGO, RDMH, MHWGO) it would have been even better.

This is true. I've sat next to many in Vegas. Pisses me off.....for about 10 seconds, lol! but I don't let it ruin my time, even if I'm the only one singing at the top of my lungs I'm going to enjoy it! Now having said that, when I do find fans there and we are all immersed in all things Celine, well the experience is a 1000 fold! :)

Whaat! :o RC drove a Ferrari. Where did you see this?

Wow you properly tested me there trying to retrace my random browsing steps the other day. The video is on John's Twitter although I think the video is John and Sam but RC is there in another car:

OMG haha

Thank you!!

I've stood next to her a lot of time that day. But I was to afraid to jump next to her put my phone in front of her face and take a selfie haha

Still don't know how I managed to get so close all the time, she goes by very fast and with all the pushing from fans and movements of her and the bodyguard it did happend a few times that I was so close to her.

The next day the whole area was blocked with the fences.

What's your insta?

Oh yeah it was the PERFECT day to be there because for the rest of the week, everything was blocked!! But yeah after I got my moment, I just left her alone and took pics. She's so quick and she doesn't like to pushy people

My instagram is nickelbv78 it's closed but I accept everyone. :)

Some people are saying Celine has changed after her husbands death what happend to the nice dresses etc..

And then they are saying I used to be a fan not anymore FYI (from other social media). It's so obnoxious at times

Good riddance I say.

UGH!!!! seriously. Well Céline was being really nice that day. Hope it changed their opinion. It annoyed me to see non fans outside her hotel in Paris. So many came and were like .. who is coming out and some said "who is Céline" but still stayed with their phones. ugh.

And yeah I've said it a few times, these "non fans" are the reason for Céline having to sing her most popular songs over and over. If only she could just have a show for real fans, she could explore her songs she hasn't sung on stage before.

Non fans at her show do annoy me! But when I sat close by the stage 2nd, 5th and 13th row, I could only see real fans. Off floor, there were so many non fans..

Back to Spain now! Woah guys, what an incredible journey this second trip to London for me to see Céline

So cool to read your experience :)

And Mathieu is Célines butler in Paris :)

I'll check out your Instagram :)

And Dave Patel, he always leaves with Céline to her shows and sits with her in the Mercedes. I hope he stays with her

If I remember correctly, René had great confidence in Dave Platel. Son it's good to know she is in good hands.

I can't believe this amazing tour is already coming to an end this evening!

We'll have to join rehab!! :jawdrop:

I'm one of the mentally deranged fan :giggle:

I'm going to miss this soooooooooooooooooo much!!! all the photos of Céline having fun in Paris and then the daily fashion show outside the hotel (almost). Then the videos and photos from the show. I'm not sure how I'll survive!

BUT the mental behavior for me is when I wake up in the middle of the night to see if there are new pics from outside the hotel when she arrives back to paris :pinch: I wake up a LOT during the nights but to actually turn on my phone and check for photos, that's different

And being so anti social on show nights  with people who are actually living with me :giggle:

And staying up super late (for me) on show nights, discussing with other fans on Facebook the latest pics, videos or gossip... sigh..

I'm gonna need a rehab as well!

It depends who I'm with as to how I react. If I'm with my friend we sing, or if it's a French show I should say I do, she doesn't speak French.

If I'm with my Dad (I've dragged him along several times to shows overseas) I don't tend to.

There's something very British about that isn't there!
