I have spent weeks in the forum and waited for every new contribution. It was great and I will miss it if the forum after the tour is quieter again. I have seen every concert in the livestream, if it was possible and love the exchange at the same time in the forum. I will miss it.

Why do non fans go to her shows? Imo, because they think, it's cool. I mean, they know only a few songs, like MHWGO or TPOL, but after the show, they can tell to their family/friends/colleagues: 'Hey, I went to see the Titanic woman yesterday night!' It's really sad, but I think there are many of these people. :(

Review - Part 3

 

The Fans

 

This is the final part of my review and I think the only one that could potentially cause some controversy. So please read what I am saying with an open mind. I will only be stating facts and then my opinion on what happened. To check these facts you can direct questions to CelinesDIVO5 who was with me all the time.

 

As I said in the first part of my review, me and CelinesDIVO5 were waiting for Celine in the lobby of Hyatt Regency Hotel. Next to us there were two women, ages between 55 and 60 I would say. They identified we were fans and they started talking about Celine. The first one with the blonde hair said Celine has a reputation of being obnoxious and rude to her fans, to which we replied that we were not aware of such incidents. CelinesDIVO5 said he had met Celine and that she was very friendly and even took a photo with her. The second woman, who had red hair, said she saw Celine in person and that she looked 'very ugly'. I explained that Celine usually does not wear any make up when she moves in and out of hotels. After that I never talked with them. CelinesDIVO5 who is a more positive and friendlier person than I am kept discussing with them. To me, they were non-existent. Just about 20 minutes of discussion went by until my ear got that these two ladies WERE ACTUAL FANS WHO HAD PAID A TICKET TO ATTEND THE CONCERT! You can imagine my surprise. After a few minutes, a third woman, the one with the broken leg who lied to Celine that she had hurt her leg in her attempt to take a ticket, told us that she had seen Celine and that she looked very 'frail and old'. Another fan who not only attended the concert but was also the first one to take a selfie with Celine.

 

During the concert we were seated in Block E, row 2. On my left I had CelinesDIVO5 and on my right side I had a couple, a man and a woman. The woman was a huge Celine fan, she really loved her, while the man was there because of his partner. They gave me the impression that she had actually dragged him there. Same goes for a heterosexual couple that were sitting right in front of me. Both were cold during the concert, but the man was also making it clear that he was there because of his woman, at some point he hugged the man next to me as if they were going through this together.

 

Other than that, as far as I could see, nobody shared my excitement for this concert. There were people enjoying themselves but to me watching Celine perform was like a sacred thing. It annoyed me that the couple next to me would talk during Recovering. Celine was pouring her soul out and the man interrupted my experience of witnessing Celine singing Recovering to offer me a drink! If they were I looked at him could kill, then he would be dead. He destroyed the moment for me. Same goes for Love Of My Life when two girls started taking selfies smiling like dumb chicks, instead of being at awe for having Celine in front of them sing.

 

I am one of the few members here, if not the only one, who never agreed with the notion that the audience of her tours exclusively consists of hardcore fans, her 'real fans', like many of you say, unlike the audience in Vegas which consists of 'rich, drunken tourists'. To me, this particular concert confirmed that I was right. There are MANY generic fans in her concerts and even people who are very disrespectful. I basically got to know 5 people, out of which only 1 was a true fan, the lady next to me. I cannot speak of Vegas, as I have never attended a single show there. But as far as her tours are concerned, next time I see any of you perpetuating the notion that only hardcore fans go to her concerts outside Vegas, I will be calling you out on it. I have not lied about a single thing in this post, hope you believe that. As I said, CelinesDIVO5 was there and can confirm what I say.

 

All in all, the concert was amazing. Had the audience been more engaging (except for songs like TT, ABM, BYLM, TSMGO, RDMH, MHWGO) it would have been even better.

 

Trust me, I went to Las Vegas 2 years ago on my own and I felt alone (or almost alone) inside The Colloseum, a man next to me even asked me if Celine was the original singer of "uptown funk" haha

Because these people are not going to the show because they love Céline or her songs/voice/personality. Imo, they are going, because they find it cool, attending a world famous singer's concert, and boasting about it after. These people, imo are not fans, not even casual fans... they're just non fans.

Of course we spoke Spanish lol. He has invited Céline to spend holidays in Spain, but knowing Céline's busy agenda, I doubt that will happen. And one more news scoop is related to Vegas (sorry if it has already been shared here before, I haven't checked the forum in days), but you probably came to that conclusion long ago

My daughter told me she never wanted to go to las vegas. She has seen concerts by vegas at you tube and found the audience terrible. Well, we will not go to vegas. Only when I would win in a lottery. Btw while on the O2 on Sunday I came across her promoter tour manager and asked about getting a M&G and he told me that she indeed held them only for the first couple of shows or so, and then they cancelled for this tour, among other reasons, as a recommendation for security He even took the trouble to call someone else from Céline's team right in front of me (I guess I looked not so very convinced with his reply) to ask if it would be possible and yet they said "no", to be fair to everyone... The man was so kind, at least Céline's team didn't lie on this, if it was cancelled, it was cancelled for all fans. At least "regular" fans like us (she still met people from the media, radios and press).

I've been to few concerts of some artists as a non-fan because I was interested to see the show. I think those people are welcome too.

Maybe they will become fans thanks to the experience of the concert.

Idk, I'm just not a person, who's going to attend a show, just because after it I can tell anyone, I have seen somebody, who is world famous. If they are going to see show, and after it they say, it was great, that's ok. But when they are there, just because they want to boast about it, I don't find it ok. On another point, these fans can be really disturbing, when they are walking to the buffet/toilet during the show, or they are staring at you like you're silly, when you are going to stand up for some songs. That is just not for me.

I've been to few concerts of some artists as a non-fan because I was interested to see the show. I think those people are welcome too.

Maybe they will become fans thanks to the experience of the concert.

As I wrote it above, I have problems with non fans, who can't behave on concerts, and are disturbing the others. If somebody is going to a show as a non fan, just because he/she is interested, it's ok, if he/she becomes a fan, it's much more better. But when somebody is going, just to see a famous people, and he/she starts walking or doing something else, because he/she is bored, for me it's not ok.

I'm tracking because I want to know lol. But I think she's heading for Paris since the hotel didn't do the Goodbye like last year. And she kinda ran to the car.

 

Also not sure she would fly alone from Glasgow to Montréal ..??
