Not a world tour just a few more countries and less shows for cities i.e. 2 for London/Paris instead of 4.

All this makes me sad about the lack of "Tour Celine" in North America.

 

I get the exclusivity requirements around LV - but it's just undeniable that the Vegas shows pale in comparison to tour shows, and with the exception of a French setlist in Montreal, the North American public don't get to see the far superior Tour Celine. Makes it seem like Vegas Celine is all there is... and there's so much more!

I don't like not knowing if it's going to be 1, 2 or 10 years until I will see her next Perhaps one day I'll be able to see a francophone show...!

 

I'd love to see a Francophone show - I considered making the trip to Paris last year to try and fit in one of the shows - they looked great! I think she'll be back in 2020 (That's just my guess.... i have no proof of anything suggesting that!)

I think you guys in the states will have to wait until Vegas ends unless she can amend the Vegas contact to having shows there while also having a residency...

I wish the Vegas contract had carve-outs for special shows and maybe mini-residencies elsewhere. Not asking for a full NA tour - they'd never agree to that and with good reason - but a few special shows here and there.

 

Like, if Vegas limits her English shows (as seems to be the case since she can do French ones in Quebec) - why can't she do a French show elsewhere?

 

I'm fully convinced she could totally do a French one here in New York. I hear French all around me in this city all the time. And I'm not talking about a stadium or even an arena - do a concert venue like Lincoln Center or Carnegie Hall. I mean, people come to these venues to hear non-English work all the time (hello, 4-hour-long Wagner operas!) She clearly loves to sing in French and Vegas doesn't let her do it!

She'd have no problem selling out. Charles Aznavour sold out Madison Square Garden Theatre last year. Celine could easily do it.

You've just made me realise that I'm the same! In both B3 and Level 4 I ended up just wishing that I could see her properly close up! That must've been a truly amazing experience, I can't even imagine!

 

It was incredible to see her perform this close up. It was my 14th time seeing her live and I've never had that experience watching her this close up and it was the BEST!! But expensive

hahaha I had some ugly glasses on so I could see her more clear when I was in second row but I noticed the camera coming and quickly took them off and didn't put them on again So happy I didn't because the camera was always there when the audience was singing along with Céline.

 

That's nice. I mean, if drinking makes you feel more relaxed, less shy and enjoy the show in a different way, then it's wonderful. But that was not the case with those people. It was a really tense moment. I actually don't remember during which song the fight almost took place, I think it was during the musical interlude prior to Refuse To Dance...

By the way! My friend and I went to the Nightingale Club on Thursday night, right after the show, and it was incredible, they even played River Deep Mountain High! You guys should have seen me recreating the A New Day... performance

 

I had drinks before the shows, (more than one) but wasn't drunk. Huge difference between having a drink or actually get drunk. I would never go drunk to a Céline show, ever. I want to remember everything! But on second thought, I feel like I'm forgetting so much. Maybe I should be drunk next time

hehe just payed off my Paris bill right now. I got a 10 years work anniversary coming up next year. I know I'll get some money as a gift from the company so that's going straight to the Céline concert account! And I told my family I only want money for Christmas so I can save up

Unfortunately I don't speak french, but her french songs are close to me as well. I just love the atmosphere of the songs, and the way, she is singing them. They're so much different, like english ones.

I agree. And I totally see why so many non French speakers love them, for those reasons you just mentioned. I've just grown up listening to them, and they helped me when I first began seriously learning.

I listened to the whole concert Tiago uploaded, so no I was not there but I could hear her voice very clearly and I could hear she was not vocally strong the whole time. Certain songs sounded a bit rushed, I don't know, I felt them less. Like Think Twice and That's the way it is, but also many songs where she was just as strong as she Always. Celine never really sounds bad, she Always delivers but having heard many bootlegs now, I can compare, and compared with, for example, Arnhem I think in Arnhem her voice was better then in this 2nd London show.

Celine never dissapoints and I enjoyed this concert too, but I enjoyed Arnhem and Berlin - from what I heard and saw on the bootlegs more.

Maybe it is also listening to the same setlist many times that you get used to the songs..

lol I understand what you mean and why. I've been in front row, 3rd row, 4th row, 11th row, first tier and highest tier. And honestly I'd rather have a brilliant view of the whole stage and see the show in its entirety. Although if I could afford seats as near to the front on another date of course I would! But the prices now are ridiculous (imo), and I shan't pay it. Not criticising anyone who does- each to their own lol but me, I can't justify it. And another reason is im only 4ft 11" so if I'm on the floor all it takes is someone of average height and I can't see a bloody thing 😂😢

It is not that she was offkey but I felt it less and she sang different. Recovering was outstanding but That's the way it is for example was not the best version this tour, - most of the songs were just great and some were less. That is my opinion

 

I do agree now you say that - I hardly remember her performance of TTWII. I also always knew when she was miming, which was a mild shame, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment. Can anyone tell me if she mimes TSMGO or not? I've forgotten.

I agree. Lara Fabian even packed out Carnegie Hall. There is an audience in major cities for international culture. They just need to give it a chance.

I thought that the sound quality of the recording was not really good (it was missing a lot of frequencies if you get what i mean) that not only celine's voice sounded different but the sound of the band as well.
