Javito Posted July 17, 2017 at 10:47 PM Posted July 17, 2017 at 10:47 PM Your vision of a artist is very limited. If Shania is an artist, a very lazy one then. When was the last time she released an album? Yes, now I remember ... it was in 2002 (15 years ago) when she tried to sell her out by going from country to pop to please everyone and be played on radio!Very artistic move indeed.I mean it's not like it was a bold move and she stopped after releasing a masterpiece because she couldn't do any better. Shania's Up! album was actually released in 3 different music styles to fit different audiences: pop (red disc), country (green disc) and Indian style (blue disc). So I'd say she never abandoned her country roots, but she wanted to reach a wider audience trying also other music styles. 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Javito Posted July 17, 2017 at 10:53 PM Posted July 17, 2017 at 10:53 PM You can't tell me that all this filming is just for herself, and for promotional stuff.Ah well maybe we get 30sec footage at the end of the year, when they make a 2017 video haha We're getting either another "Access Illimitée" (just to leave us wanting the tour DVD like the past tour ) or they're filming another "3 boys, his friends, and a new tour" for pOprah 1 Quote "Hush, now... smw Posted July 17, 2017 at 11:23 PM Posted July 17, 2017 at 11:23 PM (edited) Indeed. But there will come a time in which her golden vocals will start to diminish (and there's no way she can fake the audience using playback then). That's why I urge she records new albums more often that what she's doing now. I've always felt more excited about having new recordings from her than new tours announced. She's giving priority to performing countless shows and recording has become secondary, when it should be the opposite, recording more as long as she has that great voice, and then reducing the number of shows she gives per year. Quality over quantity. That's why I absolutely abhore all the projects she turned down while doing Vegas, killing that voice doing repetitive shows with that not-so-great voice (because she was already abusing her voice) instead of keeping it for recording those so long desired Jazz and Spanish albums... that never came in the end Damn Vegas. Damn ambition for always adding new shows like an autopilot singing machine. The days of her best vocals in 2002 were thrown to waste between 2003 and 2006 I get what you're saying. Vegas has been both a pro & a con in Celine's career. I would also LOVE more recordings. A jazz album, a duet albums, etc. I would also love for her to portray Maria Callas. But there's also no denying that Vegas has solidified her as one of the greatest, most consistent live performers of all time. 2003-2006 vocals were rough. I agree. But thankfully the Vegas show & schedule are less grueling now and her voice sounds fantastic again. Regarding Celine's voice fading --- I saw Barbra Streisand at the Staples Center last year. She is in her mid 70s and sounded spectacular. I had chills the entire time and her voice, while it has aged, still had many of its incredible, iconic capabilities. Celine knows how to take care of her instrument. And I have no doubt that she will STILL be selling out arenas into her 70s. Look at Cher, Tina Turner, Bette Midler... There are many performers who continue to give incredible performances as they age. I think Celine understands that she's one of those few rare artists who people simply want to say they've seen perform live. She's on many bucket lists and she will remain one of THOSE artists. To me, Celine's more like Whitney Houston. Whitney wasn't as involved in the production side of her recording because she was THE VOICE. And few people ever faltered Whitney for not writing songs / being involved in every aspect of recording. Celine Dion is also THE VOICE. So let her focus on sounding incredible and giving amazing live performances and let's cross our fingers for more albums. Edited July 17, 2017 at 11:34 PM by smw 2 Quote

scielle Posted July 18, 2017 at 12:07 AM Posted July 18, 2017 at 12:07 AM I could be wrong, and I don't have their schedule. But it seems those kids spent a lot of time with the nannies... I bet they spend a lot more time with their mom than most kids with working parents. Certainly in North America - most parents I know ship their kids off at ~7am and don't see them again until 7/8pm and only then to basically have dinner and put them to bed. (Though if you're an investment banker like me, even that is rare!)She's with them all morning until taking off for her shows in the afternoon on working days. And she has a lot more off days to spend with them than most working parents. What you see on these paparazzi photos is just the tip of the iceberg; think of all the days we don't see her/ them at all. And based on what she has said in interviews, they'll be home-schooled just like RC. That's a lot of parent time. 3 Quote
scielle Posted July 18, 2017 at 12:15 AM Posted July 18, 2017 at 12:15 AM Pepe il s'appelle Pepe I'm kidding. She's allowed friends...male....female...straight....gay...bi....whatever. I'm glad she has friends and is having fun Indeed. So good to see her smile and go out and have fun! I have a feeling this whole dancing thing has been very healing for her, just like she said fashion has been. It's probably why she went to see those ballet dancers the other day; probably genuinely wanted to learn from them and meet other artists. And in my books, that's a great thing. Hope she translates this creative energy into new music. Separately, what's pretty amazing about these pics is that she's in a very public place (I mean, the Louvre has got to be one of the busiest places in Paris at this time of year), and yet she's almost entirely bodyguard-free and not surrounded by throngs of people. Goes to show, if she wants to, she actually can go fairly unnoticed and have some semblance of a normal life if she tries. 2 Quote

And people cope with change and grief differently. Grief can cause change, or force it, both good and bad. I anticipate more changes to come. Not all positive. But, enough of that from me. Time will tell. I am hardly ever on here anymore, so to address two "really!? (crazy) things I have scrolled through: 1. Who cares what kids buy what items!? They have money; they spend it. And yes, I have seen kids that age buy those kinds of things. It all depends on where you grow up, and the environment you grew up in. Also, none of this says anything about their character or their parents or their values or really anything else beyond "gee a kid went on a shopping trip with his friends." It was nice she let her oldest son bring friends. She's been busy, and with friends, so at least he is not running around the city just with a bodyguard. 2. Not all artist, celebrities, or anyone else, likes or believes in every item they promote or views it in some artistic tapestry. It's an expensive lifestyle. The work itself is expensive. Each level of growth and fame and success, the price only goes up (production, etc). Lifestyle costs go up. They promote items. Half the items they sell I highly doubt they've used or thought about beyond "time do a commercial for X item." People buy them or not. It's a commercial enterprise. It does not detract from anything at all, including artist value. To each their own opinion though. But, overall, it seems like from the bits I have read that people have enjoyed this tour. That's great. 8 Quote

I wonder if they are more comforted by their aunt Linda, than their own mother, how sad. You're drawing conclusions based on a handful of paparazzi pics.Like I said in a previous post - Celine most likely spends far more time with her kids than most working parents. She can't very well be out with them to see the Eiffel Tower - they wouldn't see much beyond a wall of photographers! And again - keep in mind all the time we're not seeing her or the kids out and / or all the time the paps don't stick their telephoto lenses in her face. She's generally seen when she wants to be seen. 95% of her time is not documented in the Daily Mail / Sun / Closer / PurePeople / name-your-tabloid - and it shouldn't be. 9 Quote

You ARE judging Re-read. If you think I'm judging your not very bright. Of course moms have time away from their children. When they work, when they have time with friends, when the kids are at school etc. but BASED of what we see from THIS trip, they have been rarely out with their mother. Stating what I see, so deal with what's right in front of your face.
