Glad she stopped doing the weird "things" in River Deep... She's back to the old way of singing it!

This doesn't look small to me :o

But the problem is that during the concert they add piano and more on that stage and becomes smaller..

Yeah! That's why they should bring back the old one so it will not look limited. And it should be gray not black. Compare it to the old one. When the light reflects on the stage it looks great than this new small black stage.

They can't bring back the old stage. They cut it up and sold the pieces.

where did she sing that?

Ramona had video of it on her fb page. It was when she's about to introduce the acoustic medley.

Loved it when she said her mum keeps a tissue up her sleeve, and her grandmother kept it down her front.

Ok so just got to the airport, waiting for my flight back to NY so finally have some time to write my reviews of the last two shows!

First of all, the new gold opening dress is STUNNING in person. Absolutely gorgeous, probably one of the best things she's worn throughout the entire residency. Beautiful design, and it fits her perfectly. Extremely flattering as well.

Second, this hair style suits her very well. She has it styled over one shoulder when she comes out for Paganini, and it looks so classy and elegant.

A couple of merch things (for those who care lol): they have a couple of new hoodies (the grey one with the "old" Céline logo and "The Show Must Go On" printed on the back that was sold during the summer tour, and a black one with the new Céline logo and "The Colosseum at Caesars Palace" on the back), two new hats (Grey with the old logo and "Vegas" on the side, and a black one that has "Céline Dion" bedazzled in silver stones on the front in the EUS font), a new mug, and they're selling lanyards with the show date printed on them. Additionally, (and a lot of people aren't going to like this), but they have new T-shirts printed with the set list on the back... which means that it is likely that the show will stay like this at least through April... will post some pics when I get home and unpacked!

She was definitely "on" both nights. A little more playful on Saturday... probably since it's her last show for a while.

A couple of glitches during "I Surrender" on Friday. When the intro started, it sounded like she was testing her mic, because you briefly heard her say something before the red curtain opened. Then, when the curtain dropped, it either got stuck, or someone forgot to pull it off, because it just laid on the stage for about 10 seconds before it was pulled off.

Her opening speech has been shortened a bit. She doesn't tell the whole story about going home this summer to see her mom, etc. like she was doing in the fall.

Also a funny moment on Saturday, she was mid-speech and then she looked off stage and said "My microphone just went out, is everything ok?" We could still hear her, but I guess her monitors went out. "Can you hear me? Hello? hello?" And then she launched into the first verse and chorus of "Cheap Thrills" which Dominique, Kaven, Elise, Dawn, and Barnev joined in on. Crowd loved it! On Friday night, she joked with Barnev about his diamond earring and sang a little of "Shine Bright Like a Diamond" and also "Chandelier."

On Saturday before the medley, her nose was running, and so she asked for a tissue. The woman sitting two seats away from me (who could NOT have been more annoying and drunk), got up and handed her a tissue. Céline then said, "I figured I had two options. Ask for a tissue or..." and then she started singing "Let it go... Let it go... can't hold back anymore". So cute!

Some additional changes I noticed/general comments:

There are two new screens on the stage. Large screens on either side. These are different than the two large screens that are off the stage. These two are covering up part of the LED screen, and I can't really see what their purpose is, as they are showing the same images that the LED screen would show. Maybe they plan on using them for something else down the line, but they seemed kinda out of place.

For everyone wondering, the entire show is not broadcast on the side screens. The only time I saw Céline on there was during TSMGO. Sorry, I couldn't get any pictures because I was in the pit lol

During the interlude before Paganini, the horn section no longer walks through the audience. They appear on stage, and Dawn/Elise are no longer part of that segment.

The Bee Gees are no longer shown on the screen during "Immortality."

The "Uptown Funk" medley is slightly different, they've added a bit more instrumental to the beginning. Since it comes directly after MHWGO and the water feature platform needs to be reset, the curtain closes, and Dawn, Elise, Kaven, Barnev, come out in front of the curtain to start the medley and the curtain opens during "We Are Family." Honestly, in my opinion, the big red curtain closes too many times during the show now in order to accommodate stage changes, and the interludes. Makes the show seem a bit choppy, and like there is a lot of "downtime."

"Purple Rain" visuals are different, and have a "rain" effect, also. I think they're using more purple lighting. Overall, it's a really amazing effect and looks incredible. The videos don't do it justice.

Highlight of the show is "Immortality" in my opinion. Vocally, I love what she does with it now, and it's always been one of my favorites. I hope she doesn't cut this one any time soon. She also seems to really like singing it. I'm glad that it's no longer a walk through the audience song, because it's one of her more understated ballads, and deserves its moment to shine.

I know some people disagree with me on this, but I've come to the conclusion that "I Surrender" is the perfect opener to this show. I know others have said IWYTNM or TYLAM, but I just think there's something about "Surrender" that so fits the show, and the new dress, and the curtain drop. I could literally listen to her sing that song forever and not get sick of it lol. She's also changed up how she sings the opening verse a bit and I'm loving it.

They do make "The Show Must Go On" like a bit of an Encore. She leaves the stage after LCMM/RDMH and comes back when TSMGO starts. It's a shame that they've scrapped the interlude that Scott put together around the time of the 1000th show because they could've found a way to add it in here.

I was skeptical about the new placement of MHWGO, but I think it works. I'm glad it's no longer the last song of the show. I hope during the summer tour, they move it somewhere into the middle (kinda like how they put PQTME towards the beginning of the show during this past tour).

I keep saying that she should cut Paganini, but then I see the show and I love it lol. And she seems to really enjoy it, and the crowd does too.

I don't understand why they cut down the ending of ABM after "the note." It's not like it makes or breaks the show length...

I know that there are mixed feelings on here about it, but the audiences actually really seem to love "Incredible."

She kinda pokes fun at "Quand ça balance"... saying "Well, that was different" after the song...

Ok, that's it for now I think. I have audio of both shows... Saturday came out good... just need to check Friday's and will post both later this week. I had to hide my iPod in a merch bag so that it didn't get stepped on when everyone ran to the pit, haha so need to check sound quality.

:)

I enjoy "Incredible" well enough on the album. However, the live version isn't all that great, in my opinion. I don't hate Barnev and his vocals, but they really should have got Ne-Yo to do a video or hologram for the song. Barnev can have his moment during "Beauty And The Beast." That's about as far as that should go. I'm not trying to be disrespectful here, but he's a backup singer for a reason.

I'm wondering if incredible is a song where it sounds good when your watching it there live...

Thanks so much for the review Tim and thanks for looking into the thing about the screens. I'm guessing you didn't run into anyone from her team(?) I think you basically overall said what I said back in November(I think lol) which is basically while some of her song choices may not be "fan favourites" I think it overall works very well and it fits and of course the crowd seems to enjoy it too (they did at my show) And of course as I've always maintained it very different watching the show on youtube/IG vs watching it in person.

I guess my view on Incredible sounds a bit contradictory. I like it and am soooooo glad she is doing a song from loved me back to life, though I do wish it would be another song from that album. I like Incredible live, though I do agree with what someone said about Barnev. He gets his moment during beauty and the beast and that song suits his voice better than Incredible does. I do wish Ne-Yo had done a video/hollogram too, that would have worked a lot better in my opinion. I also so agree that I Surrender is a great opening, though I know others here do not and that's all right. Yes there are also other song, like then you look at me, that would also work. But for now, this does. Also, I agree with what Tim said about Immortality. I hope they do NOT cut it for a while because I love it. I think she needed it to be a walk through and interact with the audience song for a while but now not anymore really. I can't wait to hear audio. I've been having a hard time downloading stuff lately but am gonna try, as always. Thanks for such a wonderful report and glad you made it home safe, Tim!!

Was at the February 1st show, and yes IMO "Incredible " sounds better in the concert than it does on video. For some reason it doesn't translate well.

I think if she will do the songs live like Loved Me Back To Life or Incredible... They should use the studio instrumentals for these kind of songs. It doesn't play well with the live orchestra. Look at Loved Me Back To Life (Vegas Version) compare to Quebec (Une Seule Fois) - it sounds great than the live orchestra in vegas Edited by jpatdeleon09

Yes, both arrangements were by Mego.

Not to downplay Mego's contributions, as he was an important and pivotal fixture in Céline's career from the early years to her most popular times... through the first Vegas show, he definitely made an impact... however, I think towards the end he was just kinda "phoning it in." We never would've gotten the epic and genius arrangement of TSMGO with Mego (and he had the chance to during the TCWT)... Also, I never felt that Mego really used the orchestra to its fullest potential in Vegas, whereas, Scott Price has instituted subtle changes which make a big differences.

The TCWT arrangements of the new songs were just "meh" in my opinion. "Fade Away" wasn't the show stopper it could've been, and "Eyes on Me" just didn't have the same punch that the album version had.

The Vegas/Mini Tour arrangement of LMBTL was atrocious.

Spot on Tim

I would love to hear Scott take on Fade away.

Scott arrangement during Sur Le Plaines was out of this world.

He gave me the theatrical element to Celine sound
