Wow! Thank you- Immortality was raw and amazing. She was really working in the song and I loved the improv!!!! She has rawness in her voice but I love it. She's incredible.

 

 

I think her voice is good here... her mixing technique is clean.... she did several high notes at the end of RDMH. I think she really got the energy n vibes from RDMH, she wasnt lazy to sing it the way she used to sing, but she just changed the way to sing it. I love when she dance at music bridge hahaa... she really enjoyed it.

The RDMH performances during the TCWT were... electrifying :wub: I can't find a bit of that same feeling in the Vegas videos these days, don't ask me why.

 

Also, this video clearly states that RDMH is a song that her old band knew how to play. It's not a song to be played by an orchestra.

On that video from the 20th she sounds really good! I know some people (including myself) blame Vegas for her voice problems but I'm not so sure if for a singer is better to sing a lot or to sing less. If the issue is the number of concerts through the years, then Mariah Carey or Christina Aguliera would still have incredible voices and that's not the case. Could it be that her voice is actually better than it would be if she would have been less active? I'm not sure if we have a voice expert here but just wondering In any case I'm glad she lips more songs now.

I believe her voice has changed again. Her voice became much raw and sometimes it would turn to crack. Rdmh will no longer suit her voice due to continuously of high notes. They should change the setlist to preserve Celine's voice. She struggles quite frequently during rdmh (which used to be her most vocal friendly song)

 

But not turn it to another lipsync song like I surrender and mhwgo which were at first singing live.

 

I think her voice condition is comfort to sing Breakaway. And some of the more slow tempo song like Recovering and the latest one How does a moment last forever.

 

She can still perform high notes but not like rdmh which is continuously high note by high note.

I think the show is pretty darn good as it stands. Is it Celine's best show / setlist -- no. And I agree that they could easily mix things up more often considering how Celine was easily able to put on such diverse shows in Canada and France recently. But "Celine" in Vegas is a great show for the masses.

 

Just for fun, I've inserted some of my own personal wishes for the Vegas show.

 

"I Drove All Night" 1000th Show Video

*I want an EPIC video like the one that introduced the Taking Chances World Tour. But something with more of a "classy/elegant" edge to it, to make it better suited for the Vegas show. Her team has yet to nail this intro video for the Vegas show. They either need to do a MUCH more visually strong video or just ditch the video intro altogether and keep it all about the music, lights, and reveal of Celine herself -- like when she first appeared onstage during the FIY concert and sang The Power of Love. The intro for A NEW DAY was truly chilling. The audience was laughing and having fun as the cameraman zoomed in on various audience members -- then the lights went out, the mirror shattered, and an enormous staircase appeared on the screen. Celine walked down and starting singing. It was truly EPIC. I crave something like that for this new show.

 

I Surrender

I am thrilled that this song opens the show. Thrilled that she and her team included it since it's a fan favorite. It seems like it would be better suited towards the end of the show, near the finale. As the new opening song, I have been wanting her to open a show with The Power of Love again. But the full song just like the Falling Into You concert. After the video intro we hear a song that all fans AND the general public knows... "The whispers in the morning.... Of lovers sleeping tight...." And the curtain could drop with "Cause I'm you lady!" It would be a hair-raising moment for sure. Celine really needs to sing the full version of this song again. It's one of THE Celine songs.

 

If that doesn't fly, I agree that THEN YOU LOOK AT ME would be a lovely opener considering this time in Celine's life.

 

Where Does My Heart Beat Now

I love that this song is included. However, I think it should come later in the show. She could have a "let's go back to the beginning" segment of the show. Where she tells a few more stories and brings back more songs from her repertoire like fan favorites, Celine's own favorites, and bigger hits like If You Asked Me To.

 

It's All Coming Back To Me Now / The Power of Love

Both of these songs deserve more. They deserve to be performed apart from one another. This combo has become far too easy and it's not very special for us fans or the general public. They both deserve to have Celine on a rising platform. More spectacle.

 

Jazz Interlude

Quand ça balance

Love, love, love this part of the show. Celine is sexy. Celine is classy. This segment was made for Vegas / The Colosseum. I would love her to mix it up and sing other jazzy songs. More scats and improv, more fun.

 

She should then include a little speech about her French career and her upbringing. Then sing MORE FRENCH SONGS. At least a medley of some of her favorites.

 

Recovering

Beauty and the Beast

 

This part of the show sure is interesting now with the BATB news! I hope this makes Celine more excited to perform BATB each night. And I'm sure she will also include her new BATB theme song in this section of the show soon.

 

I still love Recovering. It's simple and lovely. And I hope that Celine will add in a few new English songs in this section of the show as she records more new music.

 

Immortality

Adore this song and adore it's placement in the show. I miss her walking down the aisle but she should walk down the aisle to another, more upbeat song, like the full version of I'M ALIVE. Glad she remains onstage and gives this song the attention it deserves.

 

Incredible

This has got to go. I thought it was fine for a while but good Lord it's DONE. I much preferred ROLLING IN THE DEEP. She should sing I'M YOUR ANGEL, CALL THE MAN, ANYTHING but this. She could even do more career highlights and sing THE POWER OF THE DREAM or something new and different.

 

All By Myself

Love the drama for this song. It's exciting for the general public.

 

A New Day Has Come / That's The Way It Is / I'm Alive

This medley has never quite worked for me. I would prefer if they amped it up a bit and added in a few other English songs and got more upbeat with it. I like Celine's free-ness here. She seems to enjoy having fun here and taking a breath. But I think she could still do that and include some other songs, new arrangements, etc.

 

My Heart Will Go On

I think this should come later in the show. AND I only like the less literal graphics on the screen. The giant arms and rose have got to go. Keep it artsy and pretty, not literal. I'm ready for a new dress, too. She sounds lovely singing this song and it has more meaning now than ever. Still love the water and rising platform and want MORE SPECTACLE like that throughout the show.

 

Funk Medley Interlude

Kiss / Purple Rain

I'm ready for this to go now. It's had its day. I want some more SPECTACLE and new songs here. I'd even take the James Bond medley over this. Something new with Celine on a big platform and some WOW visuals.

 

Love Can Move Mountains / River Deep Mountain High

Love these songs. LCMM is one of my very favorites so I'm fine with it being in every Celine show ever. BUT I think these songs deserve more. RDMH, in particular, should be a stand alone song with the spectacle that it had back in the latter days of A NEW DAY or TCWT.

 

The Show Must Go On

This should be the final song before she returns and sings MHWGO and then something along the lines of What A Wonderful World or Over The Rainbow. Having seen Celine in Vegas numerous times, I can speak from experience that people leave the audience feeling more like they've seen a special show / had a memorable experience when Celine sings a simple, gorgeous song like one of these to end the show. It leaves us with Celine's gorgeous tone ringing in our ears. And that's how it should be.

Some of us happen to think the "horrific Jazz medley" is the single best thing about this show.
