Hi everyone.

I read this thread as I really like seeing the updates and news of what's tweaked with the show etc and hopefully eventually news of some updates. I've decided not to see the show for a while until it's changed a little bit more.

However I'm increasingly getting annoyed with the people who haven't seen the show in person and constantly complain that it's dated and boring.

Please - do not judge a show until you see it in person - it's your choice to watch countless videos night after night and sit there and criticise Celine and her team of not doing enough work to 'freshen' the show. I know you demand that she sings your favourite song that meant something to you and your dog back in 1994 but will it fit the show? Will 90% of people actually know what the song is who go and see her in Vegas? No. Her team have struck a nice balance of old and new songs - and covers to keep non fans interested. It's evolving slowly and they are doing an awesome job.

I'm sure they have a road map planned for the next few years and will announce when the time is right for new tours, set list changes and many more things.

The Vegas show works for its audience and if it's supposed to be boring and awful - why is she still filling the Colosseum?! If you don't like the show after not even being there in person then you've set yourself up for disappointment even before seeing it!

My first Celine tour was the first leg of the Falling Into You Tour back in 96 and we didn't have the luxury of Facebook live and countless Instagram posts of the SAME song. I miss those days! Lol. I have been to her Vegas shows MANY times and I've decided not to go anymore until it's updated. Doesn't mean I don't like the show - it's awesome! But I have other things to do in my life.

Why don't you take a break from wishing and hoping that Celine will 'do the right thing' and change her dresses/setlist when YOU want her to - live your life and stop worrying! Maybe pay to go and see her show in person - not watch countless live videos - which by the way I'm sure her team are thrilled that her concert is illegally streamed online....!

Vegas works. For Celine and her business. Her tours are different and that's the place to expect rare fan favourite songs - just look at the last European tour? What an amazing show that was!

Rant over. It breaks my heart that I read how so called fans think they know how to run her career. If she wants to be in the charts, she can. If she wants to record a music video, she will.

Just chill and she will change the show when they're ready to introduce something new. Why change something that runs buttery smooth and really works for her to easily slip into a show and just perform?

Would you complain if 'phantom of the opera', 'the Book of Mormon', 'the lion king' didn't change? Oh wait..... they don't because new people come see the shows every day.

Well said, Kevin. I have complained in the past about the lazy screen visuals etc but at least there have been a few tweaks.

It is true that we have scrutinised very note she's sang, every dress, every hairstyle...the 4100 people every night generally are seeing Céline for the first time and the Magic will be there.

The first time I ever saw her, I had palpitations. She was incredible. And she's getting better and better. We give her such a hard time and expect too much. If there are changes coming, they'll come when they're ready.

I regularly enter this thread just to have some fun -and believe me- I do For instance, I can't help but feeling amused about the fans that are only expecting dress changes, as if we were talking about a catwalk or the ultimate fashion show in Milan :mdr: :mdr: :mdr: And I, that couldn't be interested the least in that aspect of the show... :innocent: As if she performed the whole show in her pajamas, or in jeans, but full of Celine and rare songs, that would be totally fine with me :hmm:

It's interesting how we all have different perceptions of things. But my opinion here is (and has always been), that this show is stagnated. When she has a break from the Vegas show and they come back, and are unable to introduce any new song, or prepare one surprise, a tiny detail here and there, that's the ultimate proof that they are totally stuck with it. That or that they don't care the least about evolving, which is the same worrying and sad. I don't need any justification or excuse saying that the show works the way it is, that the house is filled with people every night, that it has the perfect balance for fans and non fans and blah blah blah. When a big team like this and a huge singer like Celine is, they are totally unable to introduce changes and freshen a show that is already 5 years old, to me it only means that creatively, they're all stagnated. And that they care little to none about that creativity, and keeping an artist alive and contemporary and current with her public.

Her career on the stage stopped evolving since she started all this, in 2003. She's got so comfortable in Vegas. Even A New Day had more and more impressive changes than this show, in less time :rolleyes:

But to lessen the tone of this post, and knowing I'm under the risk of being stoned again for criticising Vegas, I will say that I'm happy at least her voice sounds great . The voice is there still, and that's all what matters for her future albums and releases. So no, I'm not just a Debbie Downer here, I know and acknowledge good things too when they're due ^_^

It was her idea but surely she has other idea's or her team does for opening the show... it's been the same for nearly 6 years, a new day ran for less years and evolved more.

Yes, a dress change :giggle: But that's why I am not surprised, no disappointed at all. Because I didn't expect anything from this comeback. I don't expect anything from this part of her career. So when you don't expect anything, you can't be disappointed.

What I'm shocked is that there are still fans expecting and being excited everytime she comes back to Vegas, and we've learnt a gazillion times before that it's all the time the same old, same bore. No right to be disappointed then (and this is not addressed to anyone in particular )

I don't think it's a 'bore' at all. It works so why change it? If the feedback from the general public after the show was 'oh my god that opening was amazing!' Then why would you change it?

Vegas seems a comfort zone for her right now and who are we to judge that?

Of course we all have an opinion and that's cool - but it's just so repetitive to hear that it's boring when it's really not.

You can see what they did a few years back was to strip back and save money - cheap screen visuals and take out Peppers Ghost etc. It's a good gig for her. She is changing it - but bit by bit and a big change will come soon I'm sure with this new guy coming in.

Well I agree it's a "bore" for us, or some of us, the die-hard fans, but not for the casual public that attends the show, who is not even considered a "fan". I take that

Still, that's no excuse to do a special show for the fans, or dedicate one day in the month when the regular setlist is altered and includes other less known songs, and (why not?) songs chosen by the fans (as many other singers have done already, with public online polls and surveys).

We've discussed this a thousand times since 2003 and it never happened. The communitaction with the fanbase in this respect is completely nonexistent, and that's what I find annoying, after all these years. Yes, there may be no reason to change the show if it works the way it is, the same way there's no reason for not including other songs which she has never performed before, and please more fans once and for all. After 1,000 shows, I think it's not much to ask? It's not going to hurt anybody. But it's not going to happen :down:

Well, all I have to say is I feel sorry for those people who were all talking about the new show and how it was gonna be so good :giggle: I knew it would be the exact same.

However, I so love the new MHWGO screen and I also wonder where the black thing we saw before the shoe went? Maybe it wasn't ready for the show yet. But the new dress is amazingly beautiful!!!

I definitely don't like the new visuals during MHWGO :/ I really used to like the sunrise from the early shows and the statues that they started using on the summer tour... that rose and those birds look really cheap, just like the opening video which I hope they destroyed it. The new dress looks better than the one she started using on August 2015... I was also expecting better vocals and less pre-recorded stuff, but to me her voice sounds even worse than it used to do in November.... As I have already stated, I wish vegas had been over since LMBTL, at the maximum since December 2015. Listening to certain performances it seems more to be attending a lazy sound check instead of a professional show... she's bored and tired, as well as her voice needs a serious help

It all started with changing her vocal coach. Bring back the old one. Yes, she's improvising now but it sounded tired unlike the previous one. And of course the stress from rene's illness and death that her voice changes tremendously. Edited January 18, 2017 at 01:00 PM by jpatdeleon09

You can never please everyone, it's impossible, we know that...

Some are easy pleased and others are harder to please, that's life.

But there's nothing wrong with wanting change whether you have been to see the show in person or online. I seen a new day in 2005 and liked it but thought it could be improved and I returned in 2007 when it evolved and it was sooo much better!

I personally would not travel back to Vegas until this show has some major changes because although it is a great show, in my opinion it also has the potential to be much better.

Granted it takes time, but when they announced this cirque guy was joining the team it lead some of us to believe things would be updated with the show so it's dissapointing that so far he has brought nothing new to the table/show.

But let's wait and see what happens!

100% agree, which leads me to say that she needs to cut down the number of concerts she performs. It's been a necessity since the first residency already. The songs, her voice and the enthusiasm while performing them will benefit from this

I know saying this is highly unpopular among fans, all waiting for the next world tour and dates and shows everywhere, but I don't care. The singing machine in which Vegas turned Céline is paying its toll with more frequency now. The visual signs that she's bored to death of performing certain songs are evident with more and more regularity, just because she didn't remedy it when she had the chance.

I also feel the same! She could sing or say anything, sound amazing or off her game I don't care. It's so amazing just to be in her company. I will add, again, seeing videos is one thing but when you're seeing it live it really is quite a show! I'm hoping to go back in the fall and see two shows in the same week. It really is so amazing to spend some time with her in the flesh and to sing along to all our old favourites. So much fun!
