Yup, I remember she deleted it from the setlist halfway through the Falling Into You World Tour because she didn't think it was a song for the stage, but it could definitely work really well with new orchestral arrangements during the current show!

 

Definitely. I agree with her, in big arenas and stadiums the song would be lost. But it could be great with the orchestra in the colosseum.

OMG. They've met before? Wow. I never knew that. :w00t: I hope there is a picture of the two of them floating around somewhere. This is probably a dumb question, but I just can't think of what this is. What does ATW stand for?

I'm sure Scott could update the arrangement of FIY and yeah the orchestra would make it amazing, it needs to be revived for Vegas and mini tours

I'm dying to hear FIY live, I'm surprised it hasnnt been performed at a show/concert in years...

And pretty easy for her to sing too, surely?

 

And while you sleep, I will miss you....she neeeeeds to perform this again! Resurrect the legend! Her team needs to believe in her songs. I'm getting bored of all the covers and yawnfest jazz.

 

Ermmm... The first one who needs to believe in her own songs is Céline herself :ermm: She's the first one to discredit her own songs doing covers and constantly fangirling other singers like Sia or Adele in all her interviews and shows :rolleyes: :down: :down: :down:

Are there any new pictures of Celine? She looks great these days with the long hair. The YouTube videos are a little unclear.

She did do "think twice" during the last tour to the UK, so not bothered if we don't hear it for a while...

 

She has loads of great songs, they don't need to have been hits for her to perform them in shows.

 

And then there are songs that weren't hits that kept/keep coming up/back over recent years like "is" "idan" "tfteisyf" for example...

 

I know many of us are getting tired of covers but being realistic they ain't gonna go away in shows, it's something different and most artists/groups do the same in shows...

 

But after the French shows last year I think both the mini tour and Vegas shows will be amazing in terms of new set lists... the tour will be better as many have said before as the Vegas show has to play it safe for not just the die yards.

I just finished watching TCWT the movie, from the tour (which I haven't seen in like yrs), boy would love for her to bring back some of her outfits or even songs from that tour,

I know that for most of you, this is gonna suck, but I miss Rene. Since he passed, things seems a little strange and unconnected. It's like there is no real vision or it just hasn't come into fruition yet. I am sick and tired of the boring Vegas show. I liked the dancing, the costume changes, at least that was interesting. Now it has no focus. Hopefully, Celine will find her focus with the help of her team and create another great Vegas show. If you aren't gonna do a fabulous show, Vegas is not for you. I love her character and lovely personality. Something must be done about the shows.....ugh!

Yeah, they seem to like her a lot -- even though I don't think she's ever appeared on the show? Hopefully she'll stop by next time she's promoting an album. Maybe she'll make a few TV appearances once How Does A Moment Last Forever is released?

I agree and disagree.

 

I agree that Rene certainly guided and offered a lot of direction when it came to Celine's career. His legacy lives on and he will always be revered and remembered (especially among us fans) as the person who helped to create "Celine Dion" the international Icon and entertainer.

 

However, there has been a lot of positive career moves since Rene's passing. And I think that's very promising for us fans. After Rene passed, Celine dove right back into her Vegas shows. She recorded a fantastic new French album. She recorded a lovely new song in English. She did a stellar set of concerts in France and Canada. She made waves in the fashion world. Etc., etc.

 

It's easy for us to forget that Rene's loss is still very present with Celine. If I lost my spouse/partner/manager, it would take me quite a while to get back into the groove. So to see Celine soldiering onward so gracefully in her personal and professional life is very inspiring. (Consider Shania Twain who divorced her husband/long-time producer -- she is just now about to release new music after a VERY long time.)

 

I think, too, that the news of her recording the new theme for Beauty and The Beast is a HUGE step in the right direction for her English career. That is finally Celine aligning with what the English speaking public wants. All of those folks who fell in love with Celine on Oprah back in the day have been waiting for Celine to release this kind of music again. It's what the people want, so give more of this to the people Celine!

 

As far as the Vegas show, I honestly think Celine likes it. She wouldn't go on each night if she wasn't proud of what she was presenting. And while it might not always translate via videos that we see circulating -- when you're there in person, you feel the magic. Celine always brings it and there's something unique and special about each and every Vegas performance.

 

I do hope that, one day, we see an entirely new Vegas show. (Not to mention more TOURING, even in the United States.) But the current one is a very good show. I agree, though, that Celine should own more of her own discography and include more of her own songs. But I think she takes into account that a lot of folks were dragged to her show by spouses/friends/etc. and she wants to perform some different kinds of songs for those people, too. I'm sure she's gained a lot of respect and new fans by doing that. As un-fun as it might be for us, Celine has to consider ALL people, not just us hardcore fans. :)

 

It's pretty spectacular that Celine's show is still selling out. It speaks to her abilities as an entertainer, and as an international Icon. She can fill those seats night after night! Bette, Cher, Shania, Mariah, etc. etc. -- they've all come and gone. Celine's got something special and people feel it when they're in the room with her.

 

I truly look forward to what's all to come. New English record. More tours. Etc., etc. :wub:

And another thing, Saturday was 8 years since I've seen her live. I couldn't freaking believe it. I can't believe the TWCT was so long ago. It feels so long ago, but still recent at the same time. It's weird. But seriously though, that tour was one of the most amazing she's ever done, so epic!

Not nearly as many as it would have had if only they posted it right after, not 2 weeks late!

So many times they've missed a viral moment...

 

That being said, there's been a huge improvement in Team Celine's use of streaming and social media. A long way to go, but they've made good progress this past year. Baby steps!

We've heard rumblings for a while about Adele being courted for a Vegas residency, though I've always taken those with a grain of salt; I can't really see her signing up for that. But according to this, there are 3 casinos - MGM, The Venetian and Caesars - vying for her and are "reportedly ready to offer her $500,000 per night."

 

I still doubt she'd do it, even if they offered her crazy money. But, if she did, I think it would be great in that it would once and for all change the perception that Vegas is for fading stars - clearly she's anything but at the moment.

 

Curious to see what comes of this.

Someone I know (I think she used to be a member here not sure...) is going to tonight's show and she wrote something about "surprises" on her facebook status update. I don't know if she was referring to the show or as in surprises in general(during her trip) Guess we'll see tonight. I'll keep everyone posted.
