Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

Wish a friend and a fan that attended last night's show could post his review here, but he's not a member. It was the first Vegas show he attended and he was totally disappointed with it (and he just saw Céline in July in London and was completely blown away with the tour!).

He described the Vegas ambience and the show as "plastic", compared to her tours. No excitement, everything so scripted. Céline looked bored and on autopilot mode. Audience is dead. Speeches sound forced and bored because of the cents of times she has repeated them, same as the songs. He told Céline doesn't even care for the audience seated beyond the 3rd-4th row in the building.

It's true that maybe last night's show wasn't the best mood for Céline or the public, it musn't had been an easy show to do, but it's no less truth that each time more and more people attending the show says that it's "boring" or lacks more dinamism. It's clearly not A New Day, nor the enthusiasm and energy we get during a tour. She needs to change that soon.

All in all he even told us that as a fan, it's not a show he would go to see, he'd rather spend money on seeing her on tour (his boyfriend gave him tickets as a surprise present). That says it all.

Again, wish he would come here to write his opinion with his own words. But it shows I'm not that mad with the Vegas thing lol. All the perceptions and feelings I get watching the videos since 2003 are similar to what you get in there.

Vegas shows must come to an end soon. It's been enough time doing the same shows and doing the same thing, restraining yourself from doing other projects you want to do, like it has happened with Céline since 2003. Otherwise, Céline's voice and enthusiasm singing there will sound as fake as the Colosseum walls and ornaments

Who knows what crazy amount of money has Caesars Palace paid her in 2011 to have her back in Vegas, when she clearly thought that had come to an end in 2007.

Yesterday she was pretty affected by the vegas shooting I guess, less jokes, take a look at the end of because you loved me.. She was really robotic at the beginning of the concert then she kinda got better... I wasn't able to go to Europe so I don't know how the tour was.. Just this vegas concert

Hi guys! Sorry I’ve been MIA since I got back from Vegas now two weeks ago after seeing her first two shows back. I’ve been SWAMPED at work, AND my best friend just gave birth to her first child!

Things are finally calming down so now I’m back haha.

My laptop is currently with Apple store to repair the screen, but when I get it back I will edit and upload my full audio from the 19th!

Agreed. Yes, there is a big difference between a tour and Vegas. I have been to 5 world tour performances...OUSTANDING. And I have been to Vegas countless times...OUTSTANDING. I truly enjoy the enthusiasm of a world tour, but I even more so enjoy the intimate setting of Vegas. To each his/her own opinion regarding that.

Regarding last night's show specifically though. You simply can't judge or review Vegas from last night's performance. Whatever words you want to use to describe it - last night's show was a show like no other. These poor musicians were giving their all, while pushing through incredible amounts of pain, heartache and confusion that none of us will ever understand. To say that they were performing on "autopilot" would likely be a vast understatement. They have all just experienced THE biggest US shooting massacre in history...in a city they all consider home...right down the street...at a concert none the less. No doubt each and every person on that stage last night as a personal story and connection to a death or injury related to this horrific act. There is fear and heartache in each and every one of their hearts that is going to take a long time to bounce back from. Sure, Celine could have canceled her shows for a while, but that's just not who she is. She wears her heart on her sleeve - for all to see. For her, I truly believe that going back on stage right away, donating, and dedicating herself to her work is her way of coping...her way of working towards healing in a clearly broken world. How could you fault any human being for being seemingly on autopilot, bored or "plastic" after such an event. We as a country are in a complete state of shock and trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces. Celine and her team are no different.

Well said 😀

I could not have said It better . I so agree with you! Celine is one of the most caring people on the planet. She could have just cancelled the show and returned when things cooled down. As usual she shows what type of person she is. This show was not about a performance , It was about recovering ( yes like the song) after a terrible situation and above all helping others. So proud of her and so proud to be her fan!

All the perceptions and feelings I get watching the videos since 2003 are similar to what you get in there, so when I thought I don't like a show because of what I see, there's a basis and a reason which is confirmed in reality by the public when they see it. It's an okay show, but nothing to rave about, and this fan is as enthusiast as the next best girl in the audience who stands up and dances and sings and screams when everyone is quiet lol

Sorry for this depressing post haha. I don't want to convince anyone who likes the show or wants to see it, to do the contrary! I just want to share a review and an opinion I had without having seen the show, that it's then confirmed by fans when they attend the show and see it, and they feel sad because they think Céline needs to move on and do other things! It's been a long time she's there postponing and cancelling other projects because of Vegas.

at the same time, i don't think last night show is the best to judge , must have been awfully hard for her just to be there...so maybe she did it a bit on autopilot .

Her speech last night reminded me of her speech that she made during the tribute to Rene. I think it was very heartfelt.

I mean her speech pattern reminded me of the tribute speech. Maybe that's why some think she was robotic?

I think she's misunderstood...by some anyway. But to truly know her is to love her.

My friend's parents were in Vegas during the shooting right down the street from the shooting so my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by this shooting and knows people who went to the concert!!

Is your friend's parents okay? I hope so! I loved what she said, and it did NOT at all sound forced to me! Just, wow. How can someone think that?

Wow. Just. wow. Now that I was able to hear a good chunk of last night's concert thanks to the hard work of one of the people here, wow. Just, wow. That's really all I can say. A few things that really hit me hard: 1, "you got a heart, so you can sing" as she is asking the audience to finish BYLM with her. 2 the way she did Recovering. 3 Some new vocal things in Think Twice. That song may severely lack energy but she is really stepping it up with that song. 4 some new things in MHWGO that I loved.

Yes they made it home safe and sound but they're pretty shaken up!
