100% or 50% lipped, who cares?

At least we know she didn't use a studio version, which means she did sing it this way during rehearsals and it was recorded...

Maybe she thought she might get too emotional and wanted to play it safe? Regardless, it pleased a lot of people, even non-fans! :-D

I didn't mention anything on Sunday so here it goes! I LOVED it! First I watched it and was like "great but lipped" but then I rewatched it purposely ignoring that and.. Wow. Now I even believe it was live lol !! Seriously, call me delusional, but I bought into it and it was really really exciting. Blown away.

I just realized this now... throughout the entire song... as far as the live performance is concerned, Celine never actually sings the title of the song... except that one single time at the end! Haha...

This is hands down one of Celine's best live performances!!!

I loved the intro about Celine, especially about Celine not only singing like an angel, but that she is an angel, being there for America after September 11th, and as the world mourned Paris!

I loved how much Celine owned the stage and the night! I love how awesome Celine's voice soared, and how she hit the big last note! Proving Celine is still the best singer of all time!

I really love that Celine was honored with the ICON award, because Celine is an ICON and legend!, and I love that Rene Charles surprised Celine and presented the award to his mom, and then held her hand! What a class act for a 15 year old! God bless him!

I love how genuine Celine was with her speech, and heartfelt she was, which is why I love Celine so much, along with her voice of course!

 

Loved seeing Celine's performance as the best moment or performance of the night on so many recap's!

Loved seeing all the positive comments about Celine, especially from critic's!

Loved seeing Celine trend at #1 on Facebook several times since her performance, including as of 8:00p.m. tonight, 5/24, almost 2 days after the awards!!

 

I think Celine will hopefully have a top Billboard Hot 100 hit with The Show Must Go On, after such a memorable, awesome performance!!

 

This is my all time favorite Celine award show moment!!

btw just wondering is it possible for anyone here that's good with sound editing and maybe make the billboard performance into a studio version?? lol that would be nice

I know people will bash on my opinion for her lipsyncing in this song... But this my opinion that I dont like when she does it... It lacks somewhere of who the real Celine is because she is too careful of her playback... Look when she always ready her microphone in front of her mouth and she cant be free because she afraid of losing the cue... If you compare her performance of LCMM on AMA, she really enjoyed it because she is singing it live and she is so free.. I know that song is a very uptemlo song that she can run and do the adlibs but still she does it freely... But in this performance (TSMGO), I am so dissapointed that we know she did it better in Vegas with those crazy High note in the middle... and i really love when she yells "come on" in the middle of the verse that i always get chill... But here... She cant do it because she doesnt sing it live...her mic was turned off... In LCMM, she yells so many times that the people went crazy...

as people before me said, did it occurs to you that she was maybe afraid of her emotions, that she did not want them to take over, making a spectacle of herself. She sings tthat song live every day in her show, she is able to do it, she chose not to. She wants to set an example for her childs, not be a crying mess on tv. Well she cried a little , but it was ok, not in the middle of the song on national tv.

Celine has been lipping in concerts since 1993 or so. It is 2016 and people are still affected when she lips every now and then. This is like a strange form of denial to me. :mellow:
