stevo Posted May 30, 2016 at 09:26 PM Posted May 30, 2016 at 09:26 PM Just because Celine isn't planning on doing movies in the near future does not mean she's going nowhere. Celine is a singer after all, so singing should be her main focus. I personally like that she is choosing to focus purely on her music at the moment. The acting part might happen at some point, but if it doesn't, I really don't think it's a big deal. I am not really a fan of the whole crossover singer/actor thing. In my opinion that is reserved for people who don't really have a whole lot of musical talent, so they fall back on acting as a second talent. A few examples would be, Hilary Duff, and Selena Gomez. They fall back on there acting, which is there stronger talent of the two talents. Celine is already an amazing singer and doesn't really need a fallback talent, because she's already so talented at one thing, that she doesn't really need to do the other. We all know that Celine can really do anything she sets her mind to and she would probably make a good actress, but it's something she doesn't really need to do. It's kind of more like something she might try one day and I am all for it if she chooses to do film, but her choosing to stick with singing for now definitely isn't a road that is leading nowhere that's for sure. I think Kevin meant that Celine plans to be around, that she's not going to retire or stop taking part in projects- i.e in 15 years will still be doing stuff (Hallelujah) 1 Quote

lllBeautifulll Posted May 30, 2016 at 10:22 PM Posted May 30, 2016 at 10:22 PM (edited) I don't know when, how, but Celine should play Maria Callas on the big screen. Even if it is the only movie she make. It suit her so well. and Imagine the soundtrack!I see a biopic like the one about Edith Piaf, played by Marion Cotillard. It suit her so well. and Imagine the soundtrack!I see a biopic like the one about Edith Piaf, played by Marion Cotillard. Too late. It's already in pre-prod and Noomi Rapace in the title role - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1564764/?ref_=nm_flmg_wr_1I remember reading this script back when Celine was briefly attached to it and thought it quite good, but that was years ago and I imagine it changed a lot since (I think they actually changed the screenwriting team). Too bad, but I don't honestly see her pulling something like this off unless she's working with a director that can really mould her. She was fairly impressive in Des fleurs sur la neige, I think, but not so much in most of her music videos... 1 Quote
lllBeautifulll Posted May 30, 2016 at 11:56 PM Posted May 30, 2016 at 11:56 PM Too late? No. They did two movies about Steve Job, so why Celine can't play Callas someday? 1 Quote

xo1hrt4celineox Posted June 1, 2016 at 03:56 AM Posted June 1, 2016 at 03:56 AM Condor you are my hero!!! ❤️ For the life of me I don't know why team Celine doesn't try to bridge the French-English (and vice versa) gap so all her fans can enjoy more. Thank you so much for the time you spend on these. Celine is so much more expressive in French, and it's really a treat to be able to experience. Appreciate you so much! 4 Quote . . .Live to Love Celine Dion <3http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i294/xo1hrt4celineox/java05.jpghttp://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i294/xo1hrt4celineox/8839047.png

scielle Posted June 5, 2016 at 10:31 PM Posted June 5, 2016 at 10:31 PM Rewatching this Stéphane Rotenberg interview I have to say it makes me a bit uneasy. They sensationalized it so much. The production, the tone, the choice of music, the voice-overs, even the title... it was all a bit crass and unnecessary. Always nice to have a thorough, in-depth interview, and I appreciate we got this, but I feel the way they edited this was a little - I don't know - exploitative? Maybe a strong word, but I feel like they were really stirring the pot a bit too much here and it came off as somewhat insensitive.I wonder how Celine felt about this guy... I don't sense great rapport. I mean, she gets along with everyone it seems (!) so it's all relative, but I wonder if she'd do an interview with him again. And I wonder how she felt about the final program (they ended up with a ~2hr show out of a ~30min interview, right?) Can't quite put a finger on it, but the whole thing is just a little unsettling. 2 Quote

I agree - especially about the title -- because around 6 minutes in, Celine stops Stephane and politely corrects him -- she says something like, "It's not my life without him, because I live with him still." She said that she sees Rene every day through RC, Nelson, and Eddy, and he is still very much with them.To call it "My Life without Rene" -- when Celine specifically said she doesn't agree with that phrase . .it verges on disrespectful and sensationalistic. I'm currently translating this part at 17 minutes of the interview and I decide to take a break, check the forum and I see your post.First,I have to say that French people love Céline so much that an interviewer would never dare to be disrespectful towards her.If he did,he would probably,if not certainly be fired by the tv network he works for.All tv networks in France ferociously compete to have her on a show, because the ratings go sky high every time. And when they sign an agreement with her to appear on their network,it's a huge thing for them. They want this Céline Dion night to be as long as possible and they advertize it weeks in advance. About the title "Ma vie sans René",I don't find it wrong or sensationalistic, because it's simply a FACT.Of course,Céline says she sees René in her children everyday and for her,he's still there. While she believes this,it's only in her head.If René was still there, she wouldn't suffer.Doesn't she say in her interview with Marie-Claude Barrette that Aldo and her don't always agree and discuss and discuss? She then says that if René was there,he would decide "Céline does this".Problem solved.Céline is now learning to live without René and it's painful for her. My break is over and I'll go back at translating for another half an hour. 6 Quote

But it just bothered me to hear the interviewer say "your life without Rene" -- for her to say, "But, no, it's not my life without him," and explain what she meant -- and for them to then give the show the title "My life without Rene." I just can't see Celine liking that title. 2 Quote
