Ok I'm gonna come out and say something and I know tech this isn't the right thread but whatever. 6 years later I am still puzzled how people get meet and greets. I've read that some people wrote to Caesars but had no luck and yet others apparently have...idk I'm just super puzzled. If her meet and greets were rare then I'd be like whatever but it seems like she does them every night so I'm just curious as to what the big trick is. P.s. I'm aware no one will tell me but I just felt the need to vent and share.

Just take in consideration that the weather is more than hot in Vegas and guess what... there is no humidity. She is going to leave Vegas the right time. In France, we have a lot of humidity currently, and it's not going to change during this month, rain, rain, rain, and again rain.

Something already pissed me off, I am sure that Mariah Carey is going to take advantage of this situation to pretend to be the first and best headliner of the streep, everybody knows how awfull she is...and Céline won't be there to be celebrated this summer, she will be in Europe and Canada. I hope they are going to prepare a big event for the 1000th show, she deserves to be under the light because there is only one Headliner in Vegas, and it's CELINE DION....

Random, but when I was at the Céline store in Vegas, I bought a new copy of the Deluxe edition of "Sans attendre" because mine got damaged when I moved house, and I noticed that they are still selling the version with the 2013 calendar in it... Wasn't this reissued at some point with a notepad or something??

 

Also, the version of the 1992 self-titled "Céline Dion" album that they sell is the Canadian version with picture disc... different than the boring yellow disc sold in the US. Random again, I know, but I thought collectors going to Vegas might want to know! They also sell the Canadian versions of "D'eux," "Dion chante Plamondon," and "1 fille & 4 types".

Everytime we have a meh performance, we have the same story : OMG her voice has changed blablah...

 

Then we have a great performance: she's on top shape lately, she sounds like in 90s...

 

Then "it wa better back in 2011"...then "no more raspiness...so pure and crystal clear"... then " it was so perfect in 1987"...

 

This was before.

 

Now, on this board we have those comments but for 1 performance Meaning : who do we have to trust?

Thing is some people don't realize they have opposite point of views ( but extreme different point of views) for different songs ...of the same night. Or only with 2 days in between.

 

Just like she waked up and suddenly recovered her voice of when she was 20 or she destroyed it completely just before going on stage.

 

 

I mean I'm not a musician or whatsoever but it still amazes how we don't hear the same thing. So I like to know what other people felt , but how am I supposed to believe people who have different overreacted points of view in 48h?

It's fine that she's part of it, but it starts to bother me that Celine is only mentioned with Las Vegas in it.

I know it's an important place for her, but she is more than a Vegas act.

For example, during the LMBTL promotion they congratulated her almost everywhere with 10 years of Vegas, which was actually the anniversary of the Colosseum. They made it sound like she once went to Vegas and still was there doing the same thing for 10 years in a row... Mostly because the main audience doesn't see her much it's not working in a good way for her.

 

During all her media and new appearances the last few years, unfortunately mostly for sad reasons, there were no mentions other than Vegas.

Canceling a full Asia tour, postpone a French album, resume recording for her upcoming French album, European tours, Canadian concerts... nothing of that was included in almost any of the news articles I saw (in and outside my country) other than Vegas and Caesars.

 

I honestly think they need so be a lot more careful how they 'market' Celine and what she does, because sooner or later almost every artist who's performing in Vegas will get more credits for it and Celine will have the burden. She will be in peoples mind nothing more than a Vegas act who once was big.. especially now that her Vegas career is lasting longer than her pre-Vegas career.

LOL, actually, you said it exactly like it happens here. The point is that everything connected to arts in general and singing in particular is extreeeemely subjective. And I personally don't think it's wrong or something. These discussions keep us, this forum and, at the end of the day, Celine and other performing artists alive, so let the discussions go on

I agree with this... I'm really liking the (mostly) non-Vegas momentum we've gotten lately - TV spots in the US, Canada and France - ICON Award - TSMGO single release - Encore un soir single release - Upcoming tour - French album... They're doing a really good job promoting her CAREER over Vegas. I think it's awesome that she will be part of the Today Show Summer Concert series too.

 

I really wish that her contract could allow her to do a mini-tour of the US. I don't think it would stop people from seeing the show in Vegas if she went out and played 5 shows in some major US markets.

This article is pure tabloid and speculation... at no point does she mention Céline or Britney, and she pokes fun at a feud with JLo that has been talked about for years. I watched the interview and it was totally just playful. She didn't "slam" anyone.

I wonder why they choose to do silly things like that with the tracks in different countries. I thought it was cool and kind of with the times to have a hidden track...now to find that they actually had "Valse adieu" as a separate track is interesting. I think that in many cases an opinion of her voice is too difficult to base on just a single performance from a show. For instance, on her return shows she often didn't sound so great in certain songs, but in others on the same night, like the Prince medley, she was knocking out of the park. Some of this may have to do with the emotions involved in certain songs....but it also has to do with that song being relatively fresh, and it's still new and fun for her... Rdmh on the other hand has turned into lcmm 2.0 it's just getting worse and worse but obviously it doesn't reflect her voice and vocal condition, it's just the way she chooses to sing the song out of boredom probably.
