New French single, "Encore Un Soir" - May 24th, 2016

I guess they intend to release the video for the promotion of re-release in November. Many people say it's only a short promo video, but I still can't believe that. If it's true they wouldn't use background actors for that, neither the concept of "ghost" driver. They would just shoot the images of Céline walking on the street. I'm just guessing.

but the single was supposed to promote the release in August, so the video should have been out a long time ago.

 

What on earth are they thinking. They cannot release a music video of the first single 3 months after the album was released and 6 months after the song itself was released. 6 monts later the song becomes irrelevant (not to the fans, but the general public) and no one will care about it's music video. It should have come together with the song while it was still fresh to promote it! In November it's time for the second single and a new video, not for the video for EUS that has been out for half a year already... the people in her team should all be replaced

This. I'm surprised there's someone giving a logical-thinking reason here and not looking for absurd reasongs behind this stupid delay!

 

It's as if they released today the LMBTL videoclip, 3 years later. No matter how good the song is, even if it was written by Sia, who cares now?

But Billboard also has a Digital Chart for France.

However, I think their tracking week is between Monday and Sunday.

In your opinion of course... And in my opinion, if they didn't think it had some potential I don't see why they would promote it after the stand up to cancer event. They might not even make a single out of it. (summertime comes to mind)

Not trying to compare but put things into perspective, Britney's single "Make Me" was no where a big hit like EUS but her label is not going forward with the second single as "Make Me" even went back to the peak positions in some markets with the release of Glory. Releasing a second single is huge amount of effort and money, and with the current situation of the music market, the labels don't want to spend more in another song if the first/current one is still in the upper echelons of the charts. This isn't Taylor Swift or Beyonce we are talking about here. Only those artists can have multiple single releases simultaneously with the current/older songs still charting. Similar era for Celine was in the 90s when they released multiple singles in different markets. We just have to accept that fact.

So, if I'm correct, Celine has been in the top 10 of the French Singles Chart with Encore Un Soir since it debuted 15/16 weeks ago. Does anyone know what the record is for the most consecutive weeks logged in the top 10 from a song's debut? I know the record for a song on the French Singles Chart is like 36 weeks total in the top 10, but I mean how many consecutive weeks in the top 10 since a song's debut without it falling out of the top 10? It should be top 3 this week. It seems quite secure as the gap with the 4th position (the DJ Snake thingy) is quite constant.

 

Is there any new entry new Friday? Otherwise, it could even be plausible that EUS could go up to #2. Indeed, after a strong debut, Gaga's single is decreasing quite rapidly and Sia should take over in a couple of days, and potenially EUS :-)

It's one thing to say they aren't releasing it atm, but they aren't planning? I'm curious why you say that. And why would they release it for sale and or perform it on ellen if it wasn't? I mean, they could just play it like when she sang summertime at the other telethon. I guess it could be for promoting EUS but that also doesn't make too much sense... And then they could be doing it to keep her in the know until she does release the new album (which will have the song I assume.) And that could work too, but I see plenty of reason for her to be heard in the radio with the song (even if they aren't planning on it). Does all that make sense?
