I think that all of this (single, album, tour, Vegas) was planned by Rene so that she wouldn't hide from the world. It'd be much more difficult for her to come back at all if she stayed hidden. What's more, it's the music and us who can help her go through that.

I would imagine it's in her contract with Sony to do a certain amount of promotion. If not, it's not for the fans to say. If Celine wants to, then she should be able to do so. If she doesn't, she should have that right as well. I can't help but think that Rene had visions for the promotion of this next album, and that in some way this project is going to be his as well.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he/they knew and scheduled an album, mini-tour etc so she won't disappear. She has a commitment that she'll honor. And she'll do it for him and in honor of him and his legacy on her career.

I think the album should be postponed little bit so that Céline has some time for herself and family. They could release it in May maybe, and she could promote it in Paris in June when she will be there for the concerts. It's very strange to talk about the promotion right now because of the circumstances. But it's also strange to think that she will be performing in Vegas next month. I wouldn't be able in her place, but I cannot be compared to her. Maybe it's just what she needs. She is a strong woman, she proved it many times.

 

"Encore un soir" sounds nice and I'm sure Jean-Jacques Goldman created another masterpiece. I missed him and I can't wait to hear the song.

I understand that Rene may have had wishes for her to stay visible with the return to vegas, the albums and the mini tour but maybe she will want to disappear. She has hinted at it before. Celine is not different than any other person who lost someone and has to go back to work.

I think it's the best way to deal with everything, and get strength and love from the fans.

 

This was all plannend with Rene's death in their mind.

And I think it was Rene's way to keep Celine busy and knowing that she will get strenght and love from us...

I think it should be pushed back a few months. No Rene wouldn't want Celine to stop or hide away. But she needs a voice to sing, on stage or tv. And a voice and strength to do interviews. Grief takes that voice away from you. She needs time to grieve, and be with her family. They need to grieve.

I think support from the public during promo etc would help her, but she still needs to get to that point for it to help her. I don't think that would be in only a few months.

Yeah she could release it without any promo etc, but I think she would only do that if she was finishing her career permanently and wanted her last music released. Personally, with the plans already in place for shows and new albums, I can't see her doing that.

Celine just needs time. She never had enough time off after her dad died. She kept having to cancel shows etc because of vocal issues etc. Grief affects all your body - not just your heart,mind and tear ducts!

I absolutely agree. This reminds me so much of how David Bowie "orchestrated" his final album, single, music video.

They have known for a very long time that this is going to happen.

I had the feeling that this album was going to be extremely personal for Céline. Now with this new title I think we can confirm it. It's probably going to be extremely emotional for Céline to sing this one...
