Well, D'eux is a classic and maybe Celine renewed her relationship with the new generation of french, who were too young to fall in love with PQTME back in the 90s.

Yes, I think it was the main reason. Other, smaller, reason might be the fact that Celine already left France and the US appearances had no effect on the chart in France.

The music video is still to come out plus there hasn't been 1 TV performance of the song yet... The song has been chart topping all on its own.... Ok the tour helped but Wait till the wave of promo kicks in!

Okay so I don'want to commit to saying that EUS is my favourite Celine song but.... I don't think I've ever listened to one of her songs on repeat so many times for such a long period of time! I never tire of it! There's just something so magical about this song that sets it aside from her others... this time it's not about the drama or the power notes it's just perfect sincere vocals, meaningful poetic lyrics and stunning instrumentation. *Goes away to listen again*

Ghostly is the best word to describe it!! It's so my mysterious and enveloping. The lyrics are also so amazing, they describe the song so well. I love EUS... I will probably never tire of it.

Unfortunately I would too if the bulk of the sales is just the french region. I mean 1500-2000 copies of one song purchased aint' enough lol. But I'm sure when the album drops we'll get a second single when she promotes too. Hopefully they do it properly which I'm sure they will since Aldo is on his A game and it'll be the first album under new management!

The impression I have is that the song exceeded expectations.

 

We were all waiting for a beautiful song with meaningful content but EUS is much more than that. The lyrics are not just emotive and confessional, they also happen to be cleverly written! In the 2nd verse the way JJG repeatedly plays with the words ''Tant'' and ''Temps'' is exemplary! The second factor that makes the song stand out is the vocals of Celine. She has had a rough year and this affected her voice. But all that is not evident in EUS. I would use this song to prove to anyone how expressive Celine can be. Each line is carefully sung and her diction is as good as ever. My only concern is whether the rest songs will be able to stand up to the masterpiece that EUS is!
