This may be a strange thing to say- but I love each and every one of you here on the forum.

 

My love. We have seen it all.

 

We are here for her and their story will go down as one of the real love stories. That is what her life is about. Her love for René. And we share it with her and for her. I hope she has the strength to get through this.

What can I say, no matter how much prepared for the worse we've been but still shocked now. And whether we have always been agreed with Rene or not but I believ we all should respect him for creating the legend, the singer and the woman we all love. And Aldo said it all in his comment.

Absolutely. The last months become so clear now. She was staying so strong, remaining positive and hoping. She went back to Vegas for him and only him. What a sad sad day.

Frankly, I think it could well explain every off-key or weak vocal performance we have seen over the last two months. It is certainly out of character for her. Despite putting on a brave face every night on stage and being funny with the audience, her singing voice showed signs of stress that could not be hidden.

Entirely heartbreaking.

 

Rene was so brave in everything. He will always be an excellent example to his children. His legacy is more than their career. It's the life they built together. And so many people, myself included, will always be grateful.

 

I pray for peace and continued strength for their family.

I hope she doesn't return that soon. I hope she feels NO obligation.

Agreed. Although, if I am to be frank here, I welcomed those real and "off" notes. I don't in any way welcome the cause of them, but it has been nice to see/hear Celine being "real" and personable. She always has been to a degree, but the recent year has helped wipe away some of that "perfect diva" image. At least to me. She is now coming across as more human and less of a "celebrity" or "star". It's amazing. Even in his death, Rene was still able to help bring out the best of Celine - by helping her become comfortable with showing more of her human side.

My heart is low tonight with the passing of our dear René. Thank you for everything. You gifted the world with this beautiful voice and lovely woman, we owe you everything and we will never forget that. Trust me when I say, we will pray for you and her and give her all the love we can during this sad time.

 

Ironically I was at the theatre watching Beauty And The Beast when I heard the news. The song introduced me to Celine back in 1992 and so it seemed fitting to find out that way.

So sad for Celine.

 

But I know she has the strength to survive this. She has her family. She has her sons. She can feel our love and has felt our love, especially since returning to Las Vegas in August.

 

The world is sad for her. Even all of those fans who have lost touch with her career in recent years -- they're all sending her so much love.

 

Celine has already shown a tremendous amount of bravery by going back to work in these final months of Rene's life. What a precious gift she gave to him. And how wonderful that they got one more Christmas together, one more anniversary together, and Rene was able to witness the completion of a new French album. What a perfect ending. He fought so hard. He was so kind and talented. He loved and respected Celine so much. I will miss him.

That doesn't sound half bad but I'm just guessing from Celine's pattern she will have wanted to finish everything for Rene. But I think maybe just this once she should put herself first and just remember that she isn't letting Rene down at all and I'm sure he's up there watching her smiling and feeling so proud that she was his wife. I think Rene would understand completely if Celine wanted to go on a bit of a hiatus.

It's very rare that I post here, but I feel the need tonight.

I am absolutely heartbroken for Celine and her family.

My partner is 20 years older than I am, and I have to say, seeing Celine and Rene's relationship really helped me just forget about other people's opinions and just love the man that I love. I have spent almost 5 happy years with this man, and I feel I somewhat owe this to Celine and Rene.

This news has hit home so deeply with me tonight. I saw the news, looked at my partner and burst into tears.

I feel as though Celine accepted the same fate that I have accepted. It's a beautiful, but heart wrenching fate. I say this, and I guess Celine would feel them same: I would much prefer to have 20-30 years with the love of my life, and suffer the loss at some stage, than have 50+ years with somebody who would never match up to the true love of my life.

 

God Bless Celine, RC, Eddy, Nelson, Patrick, Anne-Marie & Jean Pierre.

 

Rest well Rene, in the knowledge that Celine has all the love of all of her fans all over the world.
