Oh, she looks so utterly alone, sitting on that stool right now.

 

And you can sense she just wants to talk to these people. I guess they have to keep the line moving at this point, but you can see she wants to really acknowledge everyone. Celine is clearly a true extrovert; she gets her strength and energy from people. Some of us would find this incredibly draining, but she clearly needs it.

I am in awe of this woman - the respect I had before for her was phenomenal, it is now immeasurable and eternal.

 

The people of Quebec love her, her fans all around the world love her - today was tough to watch but tomorrow will be even tougher as she prepares to say her final goodbyes.

I understand that everybody wants to pass their condolences on but I think that, right now, the best way to pay respect to Rene, is to let his wife go home, rest and be with their children.

I don't know about this public announcement about the global live stream...bit of a double-edged sword.

While all of us here appreciate it an it's done with the best of intentions, I can already see the backlash. There's already some anger over this being a state / national funeral, and commentary to the effect of "will this woman stop at nothing for publicity". Unbelievably, some seem to think that's what this is about.

 

On the other hand, she's getting such love for this. What a display of devotion and respect - for Rene, and for the people who took the time to line up in the bitter cold.

 

One of my favourite tweets read something like "Celine gives a master class in celebrity grace and gratitude".

Beautifully said.

I think she needs rest and sleep at this point. It's as if she can't stop herself from reaching out to people, but I wish they would recognize that she has limited stamina and she looks worn out. There is still the funeral and her brother's services in front of her.
