Listening to theses songs makes us realize how hard it is to write a good song!

It's hard to choose one that really stands out...Most of them are so boring! Sorry but I had to say it...

I hope this is not what the whole album will sound like!

 

It also puts into perspective how hard it is to pick songs and put an entire album together!

I did a youtube search for Mutine as I am not familiar with them. Based on the songs they have on youtube it will be interesting to see what they come up with for the new album.

I am so torn between Frere et soeur de son and Comment Savoir. I really wish both of them could make it onto the new album.

 

I can only pick one though and it's so hard. It all comes down to, do I want a ballad or an uptempo? I think that Frere et soeur de son is so additive. I love the beat and can't get it out of my head. Out of all the songs I can hear Celine singing this one the most. Celine's voice suits this kind of song. I can really see her moving and grooving to it onstage.

 

Then there's Comment savoir. This song is the perfect song to showcase Celine's powerhouse vocals. It's a really nice ballad with a variety of ranges throughout the song. Celine can really bring her voice to this song and make it even better.

 

It's such a hard choice because I truly love them both. I really can't make up my mind. I thought I made a clear decision yesterday when I voted for Comment savoir, but something keeps pulling me back to Frere et soeur se son. I just can't get the beat out of my head. I hear Celine's voice in my head singing the song as I'm listening to it. It's so her, but so is the other song.

 

I am hoping that if I vote for one song and then the other each day, that maybe her team will see that both songs have potential for the album. I am really hoping that those songs are going to rank highest in the votes at the end and maybe there will be a tie or something and her team will have no choice but to pick both songs. PLEASE!

I know there are a few people on the forum that like Comment savoir, but does anyone like Frere et soeur de son? I'm just curios to know if it's just me. I'm super addicted to the beat of Frere et soeur de son. My mom was even humming the beat yesterday and she never shows interest in Celine's French music. Mostly because she doesn't speak any French. LOL.

 

I am voting today, but I really don't know which way my vote is going to go. Now I know how the Bachelorette must feel when she has to choose between the final two guys. This is hard.

I voted for “Comment Savior” again. I really love it and “J'ècrirai”. They are my favorites. But something about Comment Savior has something all the others don't. Maybe it's the vocals. Mikaël has a terrific, beautiful voice, but Comment Savior just fits Celine's voice to me. J'ècrirai can work as well.

 

The other singers are meh.

I am noticing that each day I go to vote for the song I want and I notice the songs keep moving to different spots on the list. Does anyone know if this is to show what songs are in the lead each day and what one's aren't as popular?

Finaaaaaally, you need a lot of time to do it.

I may sound harsh sometimes but many songs are boring and in category of A Song For You/At Seventeen/Overjoyed/Lullaby. When I give 0 it means I’d never want Celine to record it.

I actually like it. It’s a little bit exotic and I like this kind of sounds. It definitely needs an improvement as far as the instruments are concerned and modernised a little bit. I’d give it a go. 6/10

Le voilier blanc

It’s a peaceful and slow song and yet something is happening here. It’s building up and there is some pace. 3/10

 

On a beau dire

I agree with Davey, it’s a good song for a jazz album, not now. It’s for another type of an album that you listen in the background. But it’s ok 5/10

 

Ne laisse pas le temps

It’s great ! I love it, finally something is happening here. Could be longer though because it’s as if Breakaway ended before its climax which constitutes its greatness 9/10

 

Frère et soeur de son

I had LOVED the beginning before the chorus began. The latter seems like from a different song. The song doesn’t work for me as a whole 2/10

It also reminds me a bit of 1F4T. I like the tempo and the energy of it. I would love to hear that 8/10

Mediocre, a very cheap instrumental part in the ending 3/10

It’s a good song. But so many English words ? I thought it would be like English version of « Je t’aime encore » 7.5/10

I like Marc Dupré’s songs too ! I want a whole album like. I LOVE everything about this song. Finally something that makes you wanna move your body. It’s one of the best songs here, it’s positive and fun. 9,5/10

 

Comment savoir

It’s a good song but I don’t see why it’s extraordinary. Definitely won’t be a single material. 7.5/10

AMAZING. I love this song. I don’t know why they have chosen so many slow, boring and weak songs. I may be in minority but I want something upbeat, modern and that would cheer me up. I would love a whole album like this and Je reste la. A perfect summer single, PLEASE ! 10/10

All I can say is that the true standout songs are ''Que Vaut Ma Vie'', ''Pardonner Ce Retard'' and ''Love After Love'' since Celine has never recorded similar songs in French. To label a song as ''standout'' because you happen to like it doesn't mean that the song has a unique/special sound. The vast majority of given songs are ''been there - done that'' for Celine and we all know it. What I think is that this contest is a good chance for us to show Celine that we want her to try different sounds, maybe not for an entire album but just to embellish her albums like she used to do. In my opinion, the more she distances herself from formulaic pop the better. And this goes to both her english and french albums.

Well, I think I have finally made up my mind on what song I truly want on the album. At first I was so stuck on Comment Savoir, but after listening to the whole song a few times, I feel like the person singing it sounds raspy/ grainy at times and I know how much Celine copies a singers style when she's in studio. Celine still has her own sound, but she's very good at miming the demo because she has such a good ear for music.

 

Having that in mind, I don't want Celine's voice to have that raspy/grainy sound on the album, so I decided to go with an uptempo choice and choose Frere et soeur de son. I have like the beat and overall melody of the song from the beginning. I can also totally hear Celine singing this song out of all the songs.

 

I think Celine herself would like this choice. Celine likes a song with a good beat, something uptempo. That's why she always sings LCMM and RDMH onstage. It makes her feel good and gets the audience dancing. It feels good to have finally narrowed down a clear choice.

Thank you. I don't get it. But, I guess they just need something new to discuss every 5 seconds. I love the idea, it's exciting and different for Celine. But sadly, whatever she does, she'll be shackled to judgement by so called stans. And they wonder why she doesn't participate so much in the development of her projects.

Obviously it has alot to do with everything, According to some. They sneer and jab at her for asking fans to write and send her songs, and gets songs from many other writers, or has a randomly put together Album.

 

They all expect her to control every aspect of her albums, like other artists but that's not her, sorry.

I am really hoping that people are voting for Frere et soeur de son. I wanted Comment savoir to be the winner before, but now I realize that I love Frere et soeur de son!

It has a really addictive beat to it. Plus my family has never been into Celine's French music and my mom is humming the tune of this song at work. For that reason alone I want this song to win.

Frere et soeur de son. That's the best one in my opinion. The beat is very addictive. Out of all the songs, that is the only one that stays in my head all day.

 

If you want a ballad I would go with Comment savoir for sure, but If you want a really addictive, uptempo song I would go with Frere et soeur de son. I will die if that song doesn't end up on the album because I am already totally addicted to it. LOL. I know Celine will make the song even better. Her voice is so suited to that song. I just have to hear her version of it!

 

We should really create a poll topic on the forum, so that we can know the most popular songs before the voting ends.
