Do you think CTV filmed the first concert of the 31st July? Why would they give us 3 full songs in HD if they weren't shooting the whole thing?

I wasnt paying attention at the beginning (for the water) but yes a a claire fontaine & the whistle is on the studio version too.

It wasn't CTV per se. Pretty sure they just picked up the feed from the house cameras. I imagine they film the entire thing every night. (I don't think there was any special equipment / setup for the ABC filming last night, or at least none that I noticed).

Regarding sell-outs, I think there must be close to, otherwise they wouldn't have scheduled 10 shows. Anyway she won't have those 22,000 per concert she had in 2008/2009 due to the configuration. There are last-minute purchases, too. Let's hope she reaches some 210,000 tickets sold in Quebec (150,000 in Montreal, 40,000 in Quebec, 20,000 in Trois-Rivieres). Most people go with someone else (who may not be a fan) and if they liked the show and there is a TV special on the week of the release, "Encore Un Soir" might reach 100,000 copies sold in its debut week. On the other hand, when there is media buzz, they always say concerts are sold out. In reviews we usually read that a concert was played to a "capacity crowd" or a "near capacity crowd".

 

Rene always organized press conferences or special media coverage when Celine was in Montreal, so the fact that there was a red carpet and guests is not something to be surprised.

I may have heard the water, but it was very difficult to hear because everyone was moving and talking. I'm pretty sure I heard it though.

I don't understand why so many like it. Too much hairspray. Makes her look old. Not nearly as flattering as the previous night's hairstyle. Not a fan at all.

 

Sad that they cut Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour. Suppose that's because Jean-Pierre Ferland wasn't there... but still, they rehearsed it, and it adds all of ~3min to the show, surely they can afford to bring it back.

Completely agree on the hair, I have no idea what everyone is seeing. The whole look ages her IMO compared to her off stage on street looks by Law Roach. But to each their own!

 

I'm sad the song was just performed because of Jean-Pierre but we can't win 'em all I guess. I heard it live at Une Seule Fois and will just settle especially now that we have a third new song in the set list.

 

Speaking of which, the intro of "...la branche" with the whistle does sound prerecorded to me. I think technically it's just impossible or not as great sounding to do it live.

I LOVE the Red Heads, Line and Cristina for making the Live videos available for us! I was literally in tears watching the broadcast. And watching MHWGO from yesterday! OMG, that song has never touch me as much as it did yesterday. But the entire show, omg. amazing!!! Wish I was there and totally regret not buying tickets. I've promised myself to go next time there is a Montréal concert.

 

I've been going through MANY of the pages here to find a translation from the press conference, like all of it.. is there anyone here that has time and knowledge to put subtitles to the press conference?

Best night ever. First time I see Celine live since august 2008. It was amazing. Her voice was top shape. She was very emotionnal. Teared up a lot. Me too. EJTE was to me the best part. Her hair looked like 2004. The MHWGO for TV was special. Glad I was there.

I was there last night.... WOW! Her voice was P.E.R.F.E.C.T!

 

Its insane! She drank only one sip of water the ENTIRE SHOW!! She's a machine!! She was with us the entire time! Loved it! It was the 90's all over again. Reminded me when i was 9yrs old at the Falling Into You tour at Molson (Bell) center. Such a unique experience. I hope she keeps that trend of singing alot of her own (not so well known) songs.

The placement of Pour que tu m'aimes encore in this show is magic. She cradles her fans in her arms.

She owns the stage. I'm on such a high from these shows. I'm leaving Quebec after having spent the last month here. What a great note to leave on.

I don't think so, I mean probably they film each show (they have said it somewhere in past, haven't they?) but CTV just got the rights for the first three concerts for promotional reasons. It has been always like that with Sans attendre tour or TCWT, we always got first few songs until the first costume change and photos for the press were also only from this part of the concerts...

I know! It always fascinated me how she can do that. I get dry mouth just listening and to it! And she's up there doing vocal gymnastics for 2 hours. It's superhuman!
