CelineDionForeverNY Posted August 31, 2015 at 02:18 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 02:18 PM I'm truly amazed that she sings LIVE so much, and big songs like I Surrender and MHWGO and all... I honestly didn't think we'd see something like that before the end of her carreer. BUT. For the first time in her carreer, Celine is using Auto-Tune live. And I mean, LIVE, not in post prod like in DVDs or things like that. The big notes in I Surrender, the 100% live ABM note from the first night, and many other long and sustained notes are heavily auto-tuned. That's why it sounds so polished and perfect (tho very unnatural), even if she is singing them truly live. For me, this is still a lot better than playbacking everything, it leaves a lot more room to be creative than lipping on a pre-recorded track. I'm sorry, but I just don't believe she would use AutoTune live... If she's using it for the big notes, why not also for the smaller notes? The notes leading up to the big note in ABM and the occasional sharp or flat note throughout... Have some faith in Celine... 3 http://i.imgur.com/dQ1vYVz.jpgMais qui peut dire, qu’il peut vivre sans amour, qui?

Del Posted August 31, 2015 at 02:45 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 02:45 PM On the plane.... having withdrawals....... Celine withdrawal is the worst! You are on such a high from the concerts and then you come crashing down to reality. It's quite depressing. Haha 3 Instagram: @delphis78
québecflower Posted August 31, 2015 at 02:46 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 02:46 PM Did she messed up Mr Paganini's words or did that on purpose? LOLvery different, that song is a must every night. Quand ça balance will become as good, even if i love it already. 4 Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

I didn't like quand ca balance the first night but by the third night it really grew on me. I quite like it, even if it different. 5

When used live, auto-tune can be VERY obvious, so logically they wouldn't use it everywhere. You have to know how auto-tune works to understand exactly what I'm talking about. It's still Celine Dion we're talking about, not Britney Spears. She is able to stay on-pitch most of the time, no need to tune the whole performance. With big, steady long notes like those, it will be VERY obvious if you're not 100% on pitch. Come on, you can clearly hear that even the vibrato is flattened. When you work with sound each day, every day, things like auto-tune or other audio artifacts are easily recognizable. 5
chocolatechip15 Posted August 31, 2015 at 04:43 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 04:43 PM Robin Leach wrote an article with a song by song rundown of opening night in the Las Vegas Sun. He called Barnev "Barney" and called "All the Way" "When Somebody Needs You." Obviously he has still not hired a fact checker. 3
Julian Posted August 31, 2015 at 04:57 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 04:57 PM Talked to Aldo today! He is really really nice! Said to him that we are happy with the show, that she is singing more of her own songs, older songs, that we love the acoustic medley, we were wanting that for so long. That she sounded great, the arrangements are wonderfull, that she plays more with the songs etc.He asked what i thought of Purple Rain with a big smile on his face. Then he asked me what other artists i listen to, i named a few. Then he asked me what i thought of Sam Smith....And I thought okaayy i see where this is going to... So i told him that we are dying to have a duet with Sam Smith. That most of her duets are with older men. (He was smiling from ear to ear)So basically the billboard top 40 men he replied... Like Ed Sheeran? That was most of our talk. I really really think he is a good manager for celine and really listen to us.I dont know how, but i think we should sent him a decent wishlist... I had so many other suggestions wich I forgot, example the first 5 rows just for fans, meet&greets especially for fans who travel all the way to vegas.Etc etc etc so anybody who meets him... Tell him!! HahaHello Robin, this sounds AMAZING! I am happy to read about all you told him. Amazing! 1

Cuquito Posted August 31, 2015 at 05:22 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 05:22 PM I went again to see her yesterday and let me tell you... Was amazing! Much better than Saturday for me at least. The way she sang the songs, her voice, the energy... Perfection! 2
critias Posted August 31, 2015 at 05:23 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 05:23 PM I have not written in this forum for more than 5 years now but this kind of post gives me a big smile. That sounds cooooooooooooooooool!!!!From what all what is written here, the bootlegs, the videos, all the excitement of the FYI/LTAL seems back all over again. That's great. It is saddened by the terrible condition of Rene and gives a bittersweet taste. But her fierce comeback on stage si so them: never letting go and facing adversity being better. And what you said is so exactly what the majority of fans think - it's good that this kind of message can go accross to the man in charge of her carreer. The positive thing as well is that he is new to the game and he seems willing to shake things up. Looking forward for the next steps esp. the albums as she is taking chances .
critias Posted August 31, 2015 at 05:41 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 05:41 PM yep her rendition of Over the Rainbow is perfect! So different and personalToo often she is too karaoke - great one but still karaoke, but here it was like she owns the song

The first night's ABM note, while it had a lot of force behind it, was like the album version in that it was throaty and strained, not effortless. Autotune would have smoothed that out. I'm not saying she doesn't use autotune live. I'm pretty sure we've known she's been using it live since at least the TC tour. Edited August 31, 2015 at 06:04 PM by Your_Su_Phu
powerofamor17 Posted August 31, 2015 at 06:00 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 06:00 PM Also I guess Caesars strict 90 minute showtime policy doesnt apply for Celine! A very good thing indeed.I figured as much, she's CELINE!! It was built for her and she's the biggest name in Vegas.

Jessyka Posted August 31, 2015 at 07:12 PM Posted August 31, 2015 at 07:12 PM you are right, how good can it become? Perfection. As a Judy garland fan I'm very biased but Celine is the only person that can sing that song like it's supposed to be. Not just vocally but the emotion too. 4 http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/backup674/Banners/Image1.jpg
