Both songs hold lyrics that Celine could relate too. I also think Celine truly realized how much fans care for Rene and herself. She had to cancel that whole year, it could have ended her career, she could have been labeled as a "diva" but we all simply nodded in understanding as why she needed to do this and that all of the fans would do anything if they could. I can only imagine how that affects her and if I was in her shoes I would be crying every night at the compassion everyone has offered me during a difficult time. 5

I'm afraid only the first verse is live, then the rest is lipped. This is similar to the set-up for AND, although back then she sang the last section live too (from 'Right here, right now...' onwards) On the second night, it would seem the playback failed to kick in, and Celine sang the whole song completely live. Unfortunately she ran out of steam after the second chorus and avoided the big/long notes. 1

And I'm not surprised because it is not a song (however great it is and not matter how much I love it) to begin a live show with. It's as if she started the show with All by myself, Breakaway or Loved Me Back To Life. To sing such songs she needs to stretch her voice and it's only possible later during a show/concert. And, as you say, it is difficult, so it shouldn't be considered as an opening song at all. I Surrender is a great addition to the show but should be moved somewhere else. And it IS lame because it's a live a show and to begin a live show with playback is really bad. And if a song is too difficult and too exhausting, why bother at all? stevo Posted October 21, 2015 at 09:37 AM Posted October 21, 2015 at 09:37 AM I love IS and love that it's back although perhaps slightly odd as the first song as only the 'fan' fans know it and not your average person...I think TSMGO would be a bit cheesey and too much of a reference to what's going on privately to open the show with- and it's a cover. Her current performances of it are amazing however! She gets better and better and I love the orchestra. I need to see this show 3

Doesn't even have to be Tell Him (although it would be great if it were),but any song. Celine loves Annie Lennox so they could even do Sisters Are Doing It.. or You Can Leave Your Hat On! There is quite a few covers present already. She doesn't really duet with women, which I've always found strange. Maybe because her voice would overpower theirs and the diva antics are sure to ensue.
