OMG I never thought I'd see footage of this show one day!

That show was breathtaking! I love it! :) Just noticed that TPOL was lipped with partly the original studio vocals, but so beautiful! I love the end, the final note and all the drums!

 

I wish this English version of the concert was also available on DVD

This is pretty rare

 

Wow. What a big surprise! It's always nice to hear that's the way it is (even if it doesn't always sound right when played live). I like that she has straight hair and not that awful "play-it-safe" haircut she used to have during all the promo back in those days.

Totally agree!

I think many of the US concerts sound better than the Paris concert.

By the way guys, is there a possibility to get The Power Of Love from the ACDS DVD as a Mp3 somewhere? I have the CD of the concert, but it was not included there.

I have always liked this song since the first time I heard it but for some reason it has never worked for me as a live song. Idk, I think the ending is a very big part of the song and that sounds flat in live versions and not as "big" as the studio version does. Also the instrument arrangement in the studio version is way better and has never been anywhere close in a live version, imo. TLYM is one of very few songs that are better in studio version than live.

Anyway this is the best live performance of the song.

Oh wow, 23 years later!!!

Amazing video quality though! Much better than the 98 Chicago one.

But for that time and place in the audience it's good!!!

 

Seeing this acoustic medley makes me want to have a full acoustic show. They are good at it!

So happy to see the English-language acoustic medley in pretty good quality again after all these years - that these performances have never been officially released is obscene. The acoustic medley on Au Coeur Du Stade isn't a patch on the English-language version. Plus I've always found Céline's voice a bit weird on ACDS, as if her usual lower frequencies have been filtered out of her vocal timbre.

I think the ending live sounds not that big, because the studio version has so many layers of voices and instruments in it... And they never duplicate it live... The studio version is one of the most beautiful recordings of hers!

I agree that this performance is the best... But I preffer the ending of the Rosie O'donnell performance though...

LOL no partly studio vocals. It’s pure pre recorded vocals since 1994 except for the live vocals before chorus. Only Mariah does that lipping together both pre recorded and studio vocals. - Always be my baby

Exactly. I don’t know what’s wrong with Sony or her sound guy. It’s like they are trying new eq for Céline’s vocals

The VH1 Divas Live 2002 can be purchase at iTunes/Apple TV+, i purchased it last year because it's cheap lol and it's only 49 mins? The rental price is much cheaper lol

 

Oh, so that's why I can't find it on youtube, and it will probably be blocked if i upload it too, so never mind then. Thanks tho :)

For sure! because of copyright. I think the VH1 channel on YouTube should upload all their VH1 Divas shows.

So I am obsessed with this show footage...one because it's finally seeing the light of day and two...my first Celine concert was two days later in Columbus, OH. :cry: :teary:

I just watched Elvis in theaters.

All of the Vegas moments got me thinking about Celine.

What do you think of this mashup? Her voice sounds better and merge better with the music.

 

(Even if the "When" at the beginning is still one of the worst moments of the whole album)

Team Celine just posted a new video (of old clips) on her official Facebook page.

Could this mean she will be coming out of hiding soon?

We've been down this road before... and she stayed in hiding. So who knows!

Wow! If only the album version sounded that good, I wouldn’t have removed it from all my copies! As it is, it’s the only song on the album I truly hate. I thought it was her vocals (including the opening “When”s), but this new arrangement proves it’s the lack of production that ruins it for me.

This performance isn't live right? Sounds like playback to me?

 

I imagine it was her 1992 tour stop in Montreal or one of her launch parties for the 1992 album (in Montreal ofc)

As far as i know, that performance is from the tour at Capitole de Quebec in November 1992.
