Chantemoi Posted October 6, 2022 at 05:58 AM Posted October 6, 2022 at 05:58 AM Another unique duet. Aside from the shirtless dancer, this performance is memorable for her clever, punny entrance. At the 00:32, Céline should have entered with the line “And if you you think it’s over—never” but Marc Dupré, without missing a beat, hits his chest and starts singing her lines in a falsetto. She appears a few lines later singing “And if you think I’ve forgotten you—listen…” It was a cute moment. Wonder why she never sings this song in her own concerts when it was such a huge hit for her? 1 Quote

That gyrating, windswept, topless dancer is hilarious! I don't think of Marc Dupré as having such a gruff voice, but he's doing a pretty good Garou impression here. Quote

smw Posted October 12, 2022 at 10:13 PM Posted October 12, 2022 at 10:13 PM https://youtu.be/ADehtPe3tvw One of her greatest English songs. This song alone is better than most of what's in other diva's catalogues. It always irks me when people say, "Celine's got a great voice but her music is subpar" or something like that. Because it's just not true. She has recorded some timeless gems in both French and English. 5 Quote

This is one of the first songs I play for people who don’t like Céline, and who might remember hearing this tune in the 1990s, but may hear it differently now that time has passed. That hook at the end eclipses any “sub-par” song (and that certainly applies to most songs on the radio today). 1 Quote

Sadly the reason I go on wasn't, so that must be the reason why it isn't available here too https://youtu.be/JtCcUu5eTIM(Map to my heart) https://youtu.be/ZoUZiqlJ-Uc(taking chances (i-soul extended remix)) https://youtu.be/_bIbOEauLhc(a new day has come) and I just saw that the official audio of the reason is now also uploaded here, maybe immortality and others will follow soo too (the reason) Edited October 26, 2022 at 08:02 AM by ordinary fan 1 Quote

smw Posted October 28, 2022 at 02:36 AM Posted October 28, 2022 at 02:36 AM (edited) Send Me A Lover is a TREAT. I had forgotten it was recorded for the Celine Dion album, which is fascinating because to me it sounds more like her 1994-95 voice. From Wikipedia: Dion's version (with heavily revised verses and slightly altered chorus lyrics) was a "leftover" from the recording sessions of the Celine Dion album in 1992, which remained unreleased until 1994. It was offered for various benefit collections, mostly for women's causes. First it was released on the Kumbaya Album 1994. All proceeds from this CD went to support AIDS awareness and services. It also appeared on the In Between Dances (1995) (of which profits were given to research on breast cancer), The Power of Peace (1996) (to celebrate the 50 years of CARA), and Women for Women, Vol. 2 (1996) (another album to get funds for the research on breast cancer). It was also included as the B-side of the UK single "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" in 1995. Dion's version was issued in the US in December 1996, as a radio single from the Women for Women, Vol. 2 album, released on September 17, 1996. It peaked at number 23 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks. Edited October 28, 2022 at 03:00 AM by smw 2 Quote

I can't believe it remains unavailable in so many places...Same goes for many of her music videos (like if you asked me to, that's the way it is, A new day has come, I drove all night, incredible or immortality, just to name a few), which are unavailable in many parts of the world too... but I think we here in Germany are the ones with the most videos blocked for whatever reason. How should one profit from views while having so much of his material unavailable... Edited October 28, 2022 at 02:12 PM by ordinary fan 2 Quote
