Hm if that is true..I always thought this one was one of those rare mhwgo performances...either way I love to hear this song in original key:). But if you say it wasn’t and you already have seen it in a lower key...I believe you.

This was the very first time she performed the song live... But it's not the original key.

She only sang it in the original key twice on Oprah... one in 2002, and other in 2007 (just part of the song)... And she did on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden too.

 

I guess Élise didn't play in this 'cause she didn't have the tin whistle yet...

Wasn't the first time she didi MHWGO in Australia during FIY tour? She wore that golden t-shirt in that video. Or was it later than this performance?

I never understood why she almost never used that in live performances of MHWGO. Most of her performances are quite flat.

This UNICEF Gala was in december 10, 1997... That performance you're talking about was at the Crown Casino in january, 1998... It wasn't FIY tour anymore, just the same outfit.

In this particular performance she was sick, that's why she's "breath singing"...

About being difficult of not, I think it isn't... But demands a lot of control, wich Celine have for sure. Maybe she just doesn't wanna to sing that way...

I like the way she sang at the UNICEF Gala... Very soft at the beginning, and then getting stronger as the song goes by.

100% absolutely, yes this video is chock full of green screen. The driving scenes are so obviously fake. The worst part (imo) is the beach scene, with fake sand dunes covering up where the screen ends. It was a reshoot after all, so the solution had to be quick and cheap.

Good thing this was before the era of lyric videos where they could be as cheap as word art from the 2000s looks. Lol

She has several green screen video. HYEBIL was also 100% green screen.

TC only sounds good on the album. No live performance was ever able to keep up with the album version, cause the high chorus is too difficult to hit live.
