It was nice that they interviewed people who were actually involved in the songs' writing and production rather than the usual random talking heads that have no real connection - allowed for more legitimate and interesting info to come out. Of course, we can all quibble with the idea that those three songs are the most important to Céline's career, but it was kind of nice not to have it be MHWGO again... 1 Quote

And I really enjoyed the IDAN part!! It makes me appreciate that era even more. I was fascinated by the background info and the concepts behind picking IDAN and that they wanted to ensure she gets airplay despite being 35! Really interesting stuff! Because this song was supposed to be in a club version to cement her status and reputation! People like Guy Roche, Nigel Dick, Peer Astrom, Billy Steignberg, the IACBTMN bassist/backing vocals... (Humberto and Diane don't count coz we're pretty much used to seeing them always haha). So it makes sense they dove into her first #1 hit. Of the songs you mentioned, I think ANDHC was the only one really ignored--according to the narrative arc they were using. The others didn't really chart super well, whereas I'm Alive and IDAN basically charted the same. But they could've swapped IDAN for ANDHC in their show. I think they chose IDAN because they had that songwriter already being interviewed (he was in Madonna episode). 1 Quote
