hey THANK YOU. I didn't know, that she performed twice within days on the Tonight Show way back in 1990. But I'm a bit confused. When was the performance where she was wearing a red jacket?

 

From what I read on the internet, that performance was done when Jay Leno was filling in for Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show. I'm guessing that show was in the late 80's but not sure.

This is the first time i have seen this clip i think this was awsome my guess is that all those longest running fans may have seen this already but i find this a fairly special moment.Lovely song.I think i am going soft here.

No. Why even bother? It's his opinion and he is entitled to it. It really hasn't been very progressive for him anyway because most of her fans are pretty delusional about the whole thing (like the ones who still claim TPOL is live). And sadly, he is informing people of what is the truth (although I disagree on a few). There are much nastier people on YouTube who deserve to be suspended anyway (like the ones who spread lies about Celine and say hurtful things, which as wrong/immature as they may be it's still their opinion).

I don't give a damn if she does it or when and why!

She surely has her reasons, why she's lipping sometimes. Thank god, she's no machine. And so her voice will not always be in that shape she wants her to be.

Why can't this whole discussion about "lipping" or not finally stop ?????

Looks like something may have gotten her in the eye the way she blinks her right eye. Maybe something was flying around. Or spittle from the screaming fans Maybe her own sweat dripped. An eyelash hair....

 

I suppose that could be it. At first I thought that maybe her dancer accidentally shocked her or something while he was moving his hand down her body so she flinched. But she is cute...

I used to get so mad at speedorg and TheBlueAngel, but I've realized that it is a waste of energy. They are losers and have no lives... Just avoid their videos. Celine's true fans know that she sings live most of the time and doesn't give a dam if she sometimes lips or not.

Oh I definantly agree. They know how to infuriate me. I mean, I don't care if she lips, but blueangel like, beats her down, or tries, on every level, and then claims Mariah never has lipped and is amazing, LOL, and speedorg pisses me off, cause I'm like, at least do vids where she is actually lipping, if your trying to accomplish something! LOL! Just makes me blow off steam. Yeah, I avoid em.

Speedorg doesn't piss me off as much as the guy who claims she has never lipped a song in her life, and makes all these false videos with edited sound to try and prove it...

 

At least Speedorg has the right idea going even if he is pissing off people in the process.

And I DON'T think that it's OK that her fans don't care if lips or not, because I, as a musician, lost a lot of respect for her when I found out. If your technique no longer allows you to sing it live every night, either improve your technique or drop the song. But, yes, it's about time we stopped talking about it.

 

And I also have a BIG project in my mind. I'm planning on making a video on Celine's technique, including range(and I want to divide it into chest, mixed and head voice, though it's a nightmare), special effects - like distortion, growl, scream,- runs & licks, scat e.t.c. It just takes a little while to organise the whole thing. But, hopefully, it'll be a full observation of her technique.

If he wants to make Celine lipping videos, who am I to stop him? What makes me frusterated is he fakes them and uses obvious live vids! Ones she shouldn't be discredited on.

I really love Celine skits, both french and english (the french ones are usually more realistic). I've been watching the one posted a few pages ago -- about the rene angelil board game -- over and over again. I can't understand a lot of it but its still so funny! Rene-charles....

 

Anyway, does anyone know of any other youtube videos with celine skits? I know marc dupre did a great one a few years ago as rene (he's gambling and falls asleep, "rene mon amour, t'a dormi!")
