1992 has the most stand out performances. It is probably a vocal peak in my opinion. I would have to say that while 1997-1999 may have been more of a peak in regards with sales/touring/popularity, the vocals were not as consistent. Just take a look at these performances, and please I would love thoughts and for some to provide a few in different eras that are on par? Sure, there are some!! But in 1992 alone there were SO MANY! Just a few of my favorites I've enjoyed tonight!

 

The Christmas Song - first time she had sung this, even before the red dress performance with David Foster. I love the crystal clarity, you can hear that last belt ring.... love it!

 

 

 

L'amour Existe Encore - from a technical standpoint, thisperformance reigns superb over all others!

 

 

 

If You Asked Me To - this is the same performance Patti Labelle had watched from home and given her praise of Celine; I particularly loved the ending, the adlibs to end the song. Would have loved the second verse. Every last word was on point. So many belts in such fast transition. This is one of her best vocals no doubt ever!!

 

 

 

Love Can Move Mountains - from the same show; back when this song was a power ballad with many high notes. 3:18 YES, 4:11 YESS, 4:18, the whole ending. I was missing the ONE adlib "we GOOOT to believe in each other" she's only done three times (once was in 1992, once in 1993, and once in 2003)

 

 

 

Le Blues Du Businessman - maybe not as good as Live a Paris or even Olympia...but certainly not bad at all. This same show is the LCMM one with the last adlib nailed....also sang Nothing Broken and BATB.

Nothing Broken But My Heart @ Tonight show - beautiful. I only wish she had ended with the full slow ending.

 

 

 

Je danse dans ma tete - wow, she has the amount of fun she does singing LCMM but manages to sing every adlib correctly nailing it, sounding so flawless! She also nailed Water from the moon same night....can't find it anymore!

 

 

 

Imagine - everyone knows this performance is a classic. Pretty sure it's 1992 even though title says 1993.

Not really, her 2012 version of Quand on n’a que lamour sounded far better than 2007. Her best performance on that show was Si Deux Existe (i think thats how its spelled).

I think you were talking about the 1st TV Special that was done back in May 2007. There are 2 D'elles TV Special. May and June 2007. June 2007 was mostly live.. with guests like Maurane, Johnny, Amel, etc.

oh ok, the second one had some lives in it , but i did not like it it was going into too many directions, so much that her voice was not what was standing out to me. But yes , she had some good moments in the french special with her voice. I just found there was no emotions in most of it.

Well, I agree with the Quand On Na L'amour (the end part) a bit shaky compared to the 2012 version. Her voice in D'elles TV Special is strong, solid and powerful.. You should listen to it again

I dont find Lyhme A Lamour strong at all, its very low so it sounds fuller. Whilst it was shakier the 2015 AMA one was far more powerful in my opinion. As for TSMGO i much prefer her tour performances to this one

I think 2007 was not impressive but 2008 at the beginning of the tour was great.

 

The very first performance of fade away she nailed all the high belts at the end. It was the only time she really went for every belt in this song and they sounded great.

The rehearsal of thats just the woman in me where she sang it way better than the tour playback.

 

 

The earlier shows she sang the bridge note in alone more chesty as an f5 or f#5 and it was amazing. Way better than when she mixed it heavily and went higher. Also in this video the final playback failed.

 

 

Exact same thoughts on the "everything they can" belt in its a mans world. Earlier shows it was an f5 or f#5, slightly sustained. Interestingly she ditched that way even before europe but for one of the 4 dvd tapings she reverted back, obviously they didnt use it..2:29

Then we have the opening show where she sang the high note in abm for the last time and the only time since millennium. That note, pity the crap video and sound quality, but it was perfect. Less strain than in the 90s. One of her best ever attempts.

Most of the 2008 shows she sang show must go on. This was when the ending c#5 was always live.

 

 

I know many didnt particularly care for tcwt performance of think twice but personally the e5 sustained baby belt was definitely easier to hit then than it is now (though she still does a solid job hitting it, you can tell it was so easy then).

I have to say that I adore how her hair looked at the start of the TC Tour, I think it's the best it's ever looked like. Also I wish we had a full professional recording of I've Got The Music In Me, it sounded really great in her voice and worked well as a opening number.

I wish we had a full recording, or at least a decent bootleg. The one i posted was one I found from here a way long time ago. I haven't managed to find a better one than that in full. Pretty sad as she delivers many stunning vocals before just the part shown on TTEOTW.

For Alone that you said it was playback failed. For me, if it meant to be playback, Celine wouldn’t have to belt her voice to the mic but just maybe falsetto or whisper. But she nailed it from the beginning of the famous playback part “how do i get you alone......” means it is meant to be sung live.
