chocolatechip15 Posted August 6, 2015 at 01:14 AM Posted August 6, 2015 at 01:14 AM (edited) I love this song so much, and this is one of my very favorite Celine performances ever.Me too! I thought I was the only one. It doesn't get much love, even from fans.I always have! I don't mind this song, but I somehow can't take it seriously . .it always makes me want to giggle - seems so silly (plus, when Celine drops the "h", it sounds like she's saying "I ate you, then I love you," which makes it sound even sillier.) This live version is a bit better than the recording, but I don't think their voices blend together at all (just my opinion). When she sings with Andrea Boccelli, it melds together into perfection; when she sings with Pavarotti, it sort of sounds like they're singing totally different songs. And Celine never stops moving/dancing/waving her arms, while Pavarotti stands stock-still almost the whole time . . .it just makes them seem so separate and adds to the silliness. And I can't listen to this song without thinking of the review I once read, which said something like: "Having Pavarotti sing a fluffy pop song with Celine Dion is like hiring Da Vinci to paint your house." The review was kind of mean and condescending to Celine, so I wanted to be mad at it, but it also made me giggle. Sorry to everyone who loves this song! Sorry to everyone who loves this song! That review quote is kinda funny but I kinda agree with you. Pavarotti is opera... And while Celine sounds good (I don't think she's opera that's why I say good not great) in this song... It's not my favorite. I so get what you mean by that she doesn't mend like with/when she sings with Bocelli. Pavarotti is amazing, and so is Celine... But it doesn't mean they'll sound stellar amazing together. He's a deep rich opera singer, and she's a high/full suprano poppier (I say this kinda ish-y cause she ain't pop like "today's" pop if you know what I mean) so he's trying to sing opera, and she's trying to, but with Bocelli its kinda opera, but it's not so rich... They just mend and mingle cause they complement each other. I hope everyone gets where I'm trying to go/get with this 1 Quote I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!Le temps qui compte pour Celine est maintenant!

couldawouldashoulda Posted August 6, 2015 at 02:47 AM Posted August 6, 2015 at 02:47 AM I never understood why!!! The lyrics are beautiful and the vocals are superb!!! I have hated this song for almost 18 years. However.....I've never seen this performance (and I want to smack myself - how did that happen?!) plus I got married last year. A) I understand it just a little better than I did before (and I haven't listened to this song in probably 15 years - I ALWAYS skip it) and watching her watch him during this performance, and hearing her actually singing live, make me re-appreciate it. 3 Quote
celine4evauk Posted August 6, 2015 at 08:52 AM Posted August 6, 2015 at 08:52 AM In many songs Celine doesn't get the pronunciation correct, but I ignore that. She's francophone. And if the song was good enough for Shirley Basset (who I wouldn't say sings fluffy pop songs) it's good enough for Celine IMO! 😅 4 Quote

minolli Posted August 7, 2015 at 08:28 PM Posted August 7, 2015 at 08:28 PM A million times brilliant! Celine shall sing the song like this ...and with them! So refreshing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=21&v=oyiWQ3l66Nk I love that! What an awesome take on the song. When I saw Taylor Swift on her last tour, she did "You Belong With Me" in a sort of 50's/60's do-wop style kind of like this, which was awesome because fans still got to hear a song that they loved, but it was also fresh and sounded new. I really wish Celine and her team would re-work some songs just to breathe new life into them. (Who knows, maybe the new musical director will be shaking things up a little with arrangements.) 2 Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lsg43qJH1b1qa4phqo1_400.jpg

I don't know who interviewed her, but it was for some news program. It was a interview where at the end of the segment, the lady that interviewed Celine was talking with the other broadcaster people at the table, saying how Celine looks so beautiful in person and she looks like Gisele Bounchen in person. They were praising her so much and giving her so much complements. It was really nice, I would love to see that interview again. Does anyone know what interview I am talking about? I'm pretty sure it was to promote the Miracle album, I'm not 100% sure it was for the Miracle album but I'm pretty sure that's what it was for. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it!
