Well, I guess another reason could have been that most of them had their own careers back then.

I think it's because Celine learned a lesson when she hired her sister as a backup singer, to not do that again. Sometimes things happen. Personal issues arise. Some of her siblings have been said to have issues with additions. I don't want to get to deep into that conversation though because it's not my place to say.

 

I think Celine learned after having that experience that it's probably not a very good idea to give any of her sibling a work position with that much responsibility, where people are counting on them so much.

 

Michel Dion's job looks pretty simple. It's still gives him the freedom to feel like he is helping out and being there for Celine, he tells Celine her lyrics, he's there to make sure she get's on and off the stage on time. His job is still important, but it's not a heavy duty, up front and center type of job. It's more behind the scenes.

 

I'm sure Celine doesn't want to let go of any of her siblings in her workplace because she has already had to go through that once before and probably does not want to re live that feeling again.

 

That's just my thoughts anyways. I'm sure Celine would love to sing onstage every night with all her siblings, but I think it's a huge responsibility and I'm sure Celine doesn't want to be put in any uncomfortable situations, if something were to go wrong. I don't blame her. They are siblings and I imagine it could get pretty uncomfortable at time working that closely, especially since there are so many of them.

 

Opinion can clash, jealousy can arise. It's difficult to please that many people and for all 14 of them to be on the same page all the time. I'm sure for that reason alone, Celine prefers to keep her family out of work for the most part.

Well, Michel is her STAGE MANAGER. His duties are FAR MORE then simply telling her the lyrics and watching over her getting on/off stage. He has the overall responsibility for ALL THINGS concerning her show (from lightning to Celine's slippers), not only does he organize and coordinate everything which is involved in the WHOLE show - he also communicates between all the essential other members of the Las Vegas showcrew. Without the right person in that job such big productions as Celine's tours or Las Vegas concerts could end in a mess. It's a deep sign of trust if someone's got that position for such a long time.

 

As well as Linda who takes care of Celine's children when she's not around. I guess she still does that.

 

But we will never know the truth about the others - and as far as Celine's always been an open books in so many matters, even very private ones, for me it's absolutely ok not knowing all the true reasons, why others of her siblings are not officiall involved (maybe "inofficial" - but I don't care).

I understand the point you are trying to make. Keeping family out of your "business" is just easier and simpler way to prevent things from potentially becoming messy later down the line (in the event of changes or firings, or maybe even self entitlement)

 

It's the same reason why my dad wouldn't hire one of my friends at our business. It creates a conflict of interest.

Yes, mixing family and business can be messy. But Celine's got brother Michel as stage manager, sister Linda helping with her children, brother-in-law Alain cooking for them; sister Manon was personal assistant for awhile, sister Pauline ran her fan club for a number of years, Rene's son working with them (not sure of his title, but he's got to have been on the team for a good 20 years by now), -- I think even Celine's niece Brigitte works for CDA Productions. Not to mention Celine and Rene themselves, husband and wife in business together. I think with a career as massive as hers (and a family as big as hers!), all the usual rules don't necessarily apply. But I'm sure there have been weird moments among them. And I imagine not all her brothers and sisters *wanted* to work for her.
