Popular Post minolli Posted May 11, 2015 at 05:46 PM Popular Post Posted May 11, 2015 at 05:46 PM https://youtu.be/SQSjsbf8ufk I just rewatched this video, and I have to say, it's one of my favorite Celine performances of all time. I think this version of "At Seventeen" is heads and tails above the album version, production-wise. You can sense that Celine feels a real connection to the song (maybe because it was the first time [?] she performed it). I love her look, I love the arrangement, I love the slight melancholy that comes through. I think it's one of her best of recent years, and I am so glad that we have it. Personally, I kind of wish she would record a full album in this style. I know some people think it's boring and want massive ballads (I love them, too), but I think it would be so lovely to get a more low-key record of "quieter" songs that have personal meaning to Celine. Maybe like an English version of "D'elles?" Or maybe even (don't hate me!) covers of stuff from the '70s, like Elton John (how amazing would a full, studio version of "Your Song" be?!), The Carpenters, Carole King, etc. Anyway, I just really love this performance. 9 Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lsg43qJH1b1qa4phqo1_400.jpg

Roland61 Posted May 11, 2015 at 10:16 PM Posted May 11, 2015 at 10:16 PM The live version of AT SEVENTEEN from the Grammy show in 2008 is very good, unfortunately it is not available on a regular CD or promotion release. Quote

CelineDionFreak Posted May 12, 2015 at 12:08 AM Posted May 12, 2015 at 12:08 AM I don't know if I'm the only one that notices this, but in the At Seventeen performance at the Grammys, it's spectacular, but I seem to notice that her voice seems a little high and weird, like weaker, when she goes to announce the nominees... Seems like she's worn out from the song, I don't know... Does anyone else know what I mean? Shamrock_1982 Posted May 12, 2015 at 07:23 PM Posted May 12, 2015 at 07:23 PM Yeah the Grammy Nominations performance was in 2008, and I think it's a performance that she looks totally flawless, the hair is the best it's ever been, even though it's mostly a hair piece for volume, it's still wow!! Her makeup is stunning, subtle but eye catching, and her last minute costume change is nice, but I would have loved to have seen her in the long black dress they planned before they switched as they thought she'd be over dressed compared to everyone else, so lucky Annie had spare clothes for Celine and let Celine borrow her black jacket 1 Quote
powerofamor17 Posted May 12, 2015 at 07:43 PM Posted May 12, 2015 at 07:43 PM Really, I hate that hair and the outfit. The makeup was great. Most of her 2008 looks were awful, especially the world tour looks. I do love her Dubai ensemble. 2 Quote

This will be a matter of opinion of course but I thought she looked FANTASTIC in 08 and 09 for the tour! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she had been ill a couple of days before the day she performed that song. You will hear that also if you listen to her performance of "My love" @Jay Leno right before or right after that Grammys 1 Quote
ryba Posted May 12, 2015 at 10:13 PM Posted May 12, 2015 at 10:13 PM look at 02.04 where she pretends to play the guitar and forgets to sing, it's hilarious! But very cute and a very good performance. She had a lot of fun with this song! 3 Quote

Angel2006 Posted May 13, 2015 at 05:37 PM Posted May 13, 2015 at 05:37 PM I loved Celine's look on the Taking Chances Tour. The only part of the tour that I didn't like her look as much was when her hair was more light blonde. It doesn't go with her skin tone. That's the thing. You can be the prettiest person in the world, but if you make your hair light blonde when you have olive or dark skin, it just doesn't work in most cases. I love Celine with dark hair, red hair, brown hair and blonde hair, I'm just not a fan of when she goes to light of a blonde. It just doesn't match her olive skin, especially when she has a tan. I loved her hair for the most part on the Taking Chances tour though. Celine's hair looked amazing throughout the tour in my opinion. I especially loved her hair at a certain point of the tour. I can't remember where she was at the time, but her hair looked amazing. It was when she wore kaftans a few times. Her hair was very much the same as in the photoshoot Celine did on the statue of David in Caesars Palace. I think that's what the statue is called. Sorry if I'm wrong. It was that photoshoot she did for People magazine on top of a statue anyways. I don't know if anyone knows what time period I am refering to on the Taking Chances tour, but I just loved her hair. It had the perfect amount of volume and wave to it. I think it has to be my favorite look of all time if I had to pick one. I also loved her look around the Goodbye's The Saddest Word era aswell. 2 Quote
