Celine's official Facebook page posted today about the video for Nothing Broken But My Heart. While it's a bit amusing that they're posting about a 20-year-old video instead of giving us the news about the new album, it was interesting to learn that the concept of the video is actors rehearsing for Romeo and Juliet . . I always wondered what the heck the point of that video was! Also never before saw Celine goofing around saying the title of the song at the beginning of the video:

 

I am not shocked they didn't post anything about the album's postponement because they never announced the Oct. 22nd date they just keep saying this fall. So you can't expect them to say something like "oh hey her album is postponed till Nov. 5th from Oct. 22 (which we never told you about)" Nov. is stil fall haha

 

And ya my favorite part of the entire music video is her in the beginning the rest of the video is just ehh

YouTube DELETED my account, i'm really sad, i had more than 150 Celine videos. Also RARE ones, COMPLETE Memphis, live a Paris.. etc.. Also PERSONAL videos in private, I had this since 2008. They JUST sent me an email telling that i had 3 things asking copyrights for " Une Seule Fois " Productions J, TVA, Netsearcher ..

And the thing that makes me SAD is that I JUST WANTED to share and help Celine fans, like me ! This is so disappointing guys u have no idea..

That sucks they have to find another solution than delete the channel! They can jiust delete the videos the want. (as they already do with some of them)

Here's a really interesting old video of Celine and Rene - probably in 1990 -- Unison had been released 3 weeks earlier in Canda, and was # 1 on the charts in Quebec, but had not yet been released in the US and Europe. Rene talks about how all the people in the Anglophone music industry are excited and can't wait to release the album in the US and Europe; he is also all excited saying how all the critics in English-language Canadian papers, e.g. in Toronto, gave her good reviews.

 

I didn't understand all of it, but I thought the most interesting part was when the interviewer asked Rene why he chose to focus only on Celine (I think she refers to it as putting all his eggs in one basket) -- she asks what would happen if they fight, if he lost her. Celine looks kind of annoyed by the question -- I guess, maybe by the thought that she and Rene wouldn't always be together. I couldn't understand Rene's first response, but then he said that it wasn't something new, that he had focused only on her from the beginning of her career in 1981.

 

Rene says, "I, myself, am an artist. I have feelings like everybody else . . When I heard this voice, in my office - I'd never heard anything like that. It's not necessarily that it was the most beautiful voice in the world . . for me, it's the most beautiful voice in the world, that's certain - it's a question of taste [Celine says something here I can't understand] -- but what hit me the most, what was the most important, it was the way the voice felt, the way she expressed herself singing, the charisma she has when singing . . ."

 

While Rene is saying this, Celine looks like she's trying not to jump out of her seat, kind of grabbing the chair she's in . . I think she was trying to stop herself from touching Rene lovingly while he was saying all these things. I feel so bad for her when she talks about him in these early interviews, like there's so much more she wants to say. She talks about how it's good that Rene tells her things he thinks could be better (Rene says that's his job; he doesn't let anything slide), and she talks about how Rene was an artist himself, so that when she's feeling nervous and he tells her it will all be ok, it's especially reassuring. And then she calls him her father in the show-business. She did that in at least one other interview -- and while I am the biggest fan ever of the Celine-Rene love story -- I think it's a little weird that she's calling him a father figure while being involved in a romantic relationship with him. I guess she did it to make the relationship more than just manager-artist without revealing the truth . .she certainly never again used the father language after revealing their love, and later would say no when asked whether he was like a father to her -- but I wish someone would ask her why she used to say that.

 

But I find it especially nice to see the way Rene talks about Celine in this early stage -- not only is Celine kind of starry-eyed when she talks about Rene . .but Rene is pretty starry-eyed when he talks about Celine. No wonder everyone in Quebec thought they were in love! Love them!

Thanks for the translation , my French isn't too good but even watching that especially when Rene is talking about Celine , you can see the way she is looking at him ...and the camera actually focused on that alot ...but poor Celine is like what will I do with my hands lol

You can feel there is something there but maybe that's because we all know now that there was.

I think the father of show business thing was just to put people off who might question why they are so close etc.

The public should have been suspicious... I mean it's kind of strange to have one's manager so visible and having him lugged around with you at all stages of the game and in interviews. Managers are usually behind the scenes, so the fact that Rene could be seen so often with Celine was telling.

 

Also, Rene in that clip looks like a totally different person. Totally unrecognizable from his current self. How did he lose all of his tan so completely?
