“ Celine Dion — Courage

Who is Celine Dion in the 2010s? On her first English-language album in six years (and soon her first official tour in more than 10), she’s a woman dragged through tragedy but reemerged like a French-Canadian phoenix, with style that made her a fashion icon, a personality that made her a social media darling, and new music that now caps the magnificent reascension of the power-ballad beltress. Courage overflows with anthems, dancethems, and the kind of freewheeling symphonies that let her wail at will and deliver the stunning vocals no other pop queen can. (Nov. 15) —Marc Snetiker”

Sorry, I'm thick. What are dancethems?
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

An inspiring or uplifting song in terms of lyrics but with a dance beat, think Believe by Cher or FOMO by Celine

So maybe instead of ballad “anthems”, they are dance anthems, so upbeat tracks I guess - that’s what I took from it. I was confused too as I’ve never heard that used before

I really do believe the past few years and how she is perceived, along with what we’ve heard so far is lining this album up for a great critical reception. I really hope so. For so long she was mocked and derided. The fashion, the silliness, the natural kind way she has with people, the ballads, the voice- these all matter in making this a success. And the songs. And so far I am so so in love and ready for the rest of this album. The production! The songs are really full, interesting...I can’t wait.

So it seems they are already sending the album to music critics? Hopefully it doesn’t leak. But this review now, and the other guy calling the album a masterpiece is making me excited!

Well, the people who were there to do interviews in Quebec and Montreal already got to hear it. Or at least 8 tracks of it, iirc, they just couldn’t talk about them all yet.

It seems that it's always 50/50.

The positive thing is that there are many people (many young people) that think she is the coolest

person out there today, thanks to all the fashion stuff. I believe it gave her many new fans as well

and I bet she will stay this cool fashion Queen forever more in the public eye.

Imo, the fashion made Celine to be highly popular than ever before,

something her music wasn't able to do (In between the LV jail).

I see this new area as a wonderful combination, her fashion "support" her music, and her image corresponding with her music.

Imperfection video for example, just perfect!. I believe the LD video will be something cool as well on that aspect.

I dearly love the outfits for this Tour and this Bob!:) I would like her two friends to talk about it in details!:)

I don’t want her to kill herself with promo as she’s just starting the tour and recovering but a few key tv appearances and interviews will do the trick

They are getting our expectations too high for this album, don't them? :-D

Well, re. the EW mini-review specifically, if you look at his prior posts, the journalist has been a big Celine fan for years, so he's predisposed to like it.

But yes, I agree. I think this time around she's not going to be subjected to the knee-jerk antagonistic reaction that was always predictably there in the past. The critical perception around her has definitely shifted, not least because the journalists who are now of age to write about her grew up with her as kids & teenagers. And those who derided her in the past - when irony and aloofness reigned - have retired.

OK let's change the tune ...has this been posted?....there's an unreleased version of Boundaries by Maty Noyes, there's a 30 second clip that's sounds very promising with Céline vocals.

and also it seems the Credits for Perfect Goodbye are linked to Corey Sanders, Freddy Wexler, and Max Wolfgang

Wow I love that clip, what a simple but beautiful song..it actually made me feel teary :*( , the fact it's a bonus track makes me feel positive for the album...22 days to go but I'm sure we will have some more clips or a song released before then and reviews to read to keep as sane before release date....And 20 songs to look forward to, what a treat :)

I hope not! Because in Celine's case she will just see everyone who hasn't bought Deluxe version :devilwave:
