Celine Fan 77 Posted February 28, 2017 at 10:51 AM Posted February 28, 2017 at 10:51 AM (edited) Have you heard the spanish version of Have You Ever Been In Love? Of course not, I wish I had! It's not even clear that she recorded it. All I know is that famous picture of the sheet music with the lyrics, signed by Celine. I guess this is the closest thing we have to that song: Edited February 28, 2017 at 10:55 AM by Celine Fan 77 2 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)
Javito Posted February 28, 2017 at 10:52 AM Posted February 28, 2017 at 10:52 AM (edited) We don't even know for sure if it was recorded after all, but the lyrics sheet with all the phonetic words and notes and Céline's handwriting on it makes me believe so The contrary wouldn't make much sense. You know, Céline is not that kind of artist that leaves her work unfinished I just think they didn't like how it sounded in the end, for whatever reason (like happened with the English version of LAEE), or for whatever reason they prefered to include again the English version on the OH album. I SO very much miss that too. A Spanish album today would break the stagnation that has been installed in her English career since years now. Even a "concept" Spanish album, like an album of famous tango songs covered by Céline, that would make the news everywhere if done properly and with due respect, I'm sure. Like I said many times, she needs to break out that self-imposed routine in her career of always releasing the same combination English album/French album/English album/French album invariably. I think the general public is tired of that, and that's why the industry doesn't pay attention to her either. And if it's not an album in another language, at least take some risk and do an album in another new style (dance, jazz, electronic etc). Whatever except that same old formula that it became clear is no longuer working for her (at least with the English market). She needs to reinvent her English career so bad. It's been many many many years always doing the same thing, and there's only so much one can last always offering the same to the public. All in all, like the saying says, "been there, done that"!!!. Time to move on and do something different. After all, she's been wishing to do these projects since decades ago -like the cinema thing, but it never arrives... For example, people from Spain have been teased by Mexicans and Latin Americans because they speak very fast and practically butcher the language. They also pronounce the "C" wrong. as "TH" also sometimes they pronounce the "D" as "TH" its very strange to hear this. At least that's what My Mexican friend said. But because Celine and her management ALWAYS makes decision around money, I'm afraid this will never happen. That's why they always try to please everybody because they want a wide demographic to buy her album. They always try to please as many people as possible with every album. If she were to release a Spanish album it would not sell much in USA because USA still mostly buys English albums. The market is so small there. In Latin America there are many people but they are not necessarily interested in Celine Dion. The trend there is Reggaeton and American dance music. Also because incomes are small there, people don't necessarily spend money on buying music, instead they get it for free off the internet. I wish Celine would release a Spanish album though. It would be great. So far she's recorded only 3 songs in Spanish. Maybe she could put those on the album and then record only 6 more. 1 Quote https://media.giphy....zviuO/giphy.gif

It's them who pronounce the C and the S differently! I won't say wrong, because it's their own culture, but definitely it's not the original and authentic Spanish with a neutral accent. The best Spanish to learn is the Spanish that has no accent and it's neutral, and that's the Spanish spoken in Spain . Precisely my hometown (Valladolid) next with Salamanca are the cities in Spain that receive more foreign people to learn and study Spanish. Spain gets thousands of foreign students every year to study Spanish here. We welcome thousands of Americans, Australians British and other fellow European students each year that come here specifically to learn Spanish, more than any other region in the country, and that's for something. There's not such that sound here, believe me. There are many different Spanish accents in Spain, especially if you go to the southern cities of Spain, but not in the middle section of the country, and particularly where I live. There's no accent at all, the Spanish here is completely neutral. Anyway this went so off-topic sorry! Edited February 28, 2017 at 12:48 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Taking Chances Posted February 28, 2017 at 04:22 PM Posted February 28, 2017 at 04:22 PM I don't want any duet or any remake of a classic. I just want Céline But if there was a duet, I'd love it to be with Sia. Yes yes I love Sia, I love when Céline sings a Sia song. I know, not a popular opinion but yup I loooove it! I'd love a duet with Sia too, and I think a lot of us as Celine fans actually like Sia. I feel like the "problem" with that is that Celine will probably try to sound like Sia and not like herself. If we got a Celine/Sia duet where Sia sounds like Sia, and Celine sounds like HERSELF, then we'd hit the jackpot. (Of course the song needs to be good too) Sia is great, she's a instant hit-maker currently, and collaborating with her today means success. So I agree it can only do good right now. But the only problem is that if Céline continues to fangirl about her 24/7, it can be tiring. Yes, it would probably be a hit. I feel like the problem is more Celine trying to sound like Sia rather than fan-girling over her. 7 Quote

I think Celine at times has her accent in her english recordings. Especially her latter ones rather than the 90's ones. Maybe it's the producers. I remember listening to TCOML album when I first got it and didn't know she was francophone. The only thing I noticed was when she pronounced the H in honest. Other than that I didn't have a clue. For the next album I hope the producers try and get clear wording from her, great pronunciation that we know she can give. 2 Quote
