Celine Fan 77 Posted February 25, 2017 at 10:17 PM Posted February 25, 2017 at 10:17 PM Recovering should stand on its own. Not on the album please. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G901F met Tapatalk Actually I hope that How Does a Moment Last Forever won't be included on the record (It probably won't unless the movie becomes a real smash hit worldwide). Same goes for The Show Must Go On (the studio version is such an awful take, please don't even think about including it on the album). As for Recovering, my guess is that this one will be included. 1 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)

A cause, A cause Posted February 25, 2017 at 11:28 PM Posted February 25, 2017 at 11:28 PM Wow. The last few pages of this thread took a swing into crazytown. Talk about jumping to conclusions. lol 4 Quote
scielle Posted February 26, 2017 at 12:30 AM Posted February 26, 2017 at 12:30 AM And who knows, perhaps she hasn't received enough (good) songs to record. Not every writer wants to write songs for a nearly 50 year old artist if they aspire to getting their songs on radio... This album is probably as important as her very first English album.Céline is now viewed "differently" (in a good way) and I'm sure many people in the industry/radios are waiting to see what she will come up with. So Sony and Co. have to plan this carefully in my opinion. It's like a new "beginning"... I really don't understand this fixation on radio and whether or not they play Celine's music. I mean, does anyone still even listen to traditional OTA music radio anymore? I don't know a single person who does, other than talk/ public radio like NPR/ CBC/ BBC... Most of these stations don't even have DJs selecting music anymore. It's basically the same 20 songs on a loop and many of these stations are programmed by algorithms rather than people.Best way to discover new music these days is curated playlists & shows (curated by actual people who listen to music!) on services like Spotify, Apple, Google (or former Songza). I seriously could care less if traditional radio never played Celine, which is why I'm so perplexed about all the discussion around singles in the various single-related threads. I mean, are singles still even a thing? And while I'm on the subject, Frank Ocean launched a new show on Apple / Beats 1 (you need an Apple Music subscription to listen), and there was an interview with Jay Z on the first episode which pretty much encapsulates the problem - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGhU1Ap0yTo AND, worth pointing out Frank had an awesome playlist (see Pitchfork article about it), which incidentally also included Celine, alongside the likes of Future, Calvin Harris, Prince, Esperanza Spalding, OutKast, Miles Davis...basically how most people listen to music. I mean, format radio is just so ridiculous - who truthfully listens to one and only one genre? Anyway, the show made waves and people noticed! Now? Much less so. I don't think she needs radio play to be relevant. She needs tastemakers. 6 Quote

Xpresso Posted February 26, 2017 at 10:30 PM Posted February 26, 2017 at 10:30 PM @scielle - I'm not fixated on radio play as you mentioned. What I wrote is that a lot of people in the music industry/radios are waiting to see what Céline will come up with next. I could care less if they play her music or not (as long as I can listen to her music I'm fine!!)... and I'm petty sure she won't get much radio play. But it would be nice if they would support her efforts however. Quote
LukeD Posted February 26, 2017 at 11:13 PM Posted February 26, 2017 at 11:13 PM I can only imagine Celine being played on radios. LMBTL would have been a huge hit. Bigger than Taking Chances. SLS would be the follow-up single, an easy #1 on dance charts... And then DKL would be released so that the album appeals to those loving her ballads. And the strategy would work, another #1 on the AC charts... And then... Dream, dream, dream... 2 Quote

neocshs Posted February 27, 2017 at 02:47 PM Posted February 27, 2017 at 02:47 PM I actually think that her TSMGO record is quite good, at least for what it might have been meant for. If they wanted to make a great record they could have used the ultimate arrangements (Billboard Awards, Fellon's performance was really good as well), but instead they went for kind of a raw/spontaneous record. Taking Chances Posted February 27, 2017 at 05:04 PM Posted February 27, 2017 at 05:04 PM You really think they will include " the show must go on" ? "Recovering" maybeBut I do not think that neither than "beauty & the Best song "and "the show must go on" Nothing to do in the album They probably won't include The Show Must Go On on this new album, if anything it should have been included on a "re-release" or special edition of Loved Me Back To Life as a bonus track. I feel like if it belongs anywhere, it's there. We do NOT need The Show Must Go On on the new album. Recovering is another story. Because it's a tribute to Rene, it could be included, but it could also stand alone. So, who knows. Beauty And The Beast was a huge song back in the day, and it was included on her album back then, so there's no reason to think they won't include How Does A Moment Last Forever on this album. Maybe the success of the song will play a part though. 1 Quote

mairtin Posted February 27, 2017 at 08:32 PM Posted February 27, 2017 at 08:32 PM I don't think Show, Recovering and the Disney track should be on the standard version of the new album, but maybe on the deluxe version. I want 13 brand new glistening tracks in the standard album, but I have a feeling 2 or 3 will be English adaptations from EUS. She must include a Spanish language song as she used to always do. Maybe a cheeky duet with Shakira! Not too many duets but one with Adele would be unreal. I'm expecting big things. EUS was a complete transformation from Sans Attendre so let's hope for something radically different for the next English album, but it must still be quintessentially Céline. 3 Quote
Javito Posted February 27, 2017 at 08:45 PM Posted February 27, 2017 at 08:45 PM (edited) No please anything in a Spanish duet but Shakira . A goat can sing and be better understood than her. I'd rather have JLo! Why not a duet with a male latin singer, like Enrique Iglesias? That would raise the temperature for sure Or even a hot song with Pitbull would get some attention definitely. But if she were to record a song in Spanish again, I'd rather have her all alone on her voice. I selfishly want each and every word in that song sang by her in that delicious Spanish she has (or used to!) Edited February 27, 2017 at 08:51 PM by Javito 5 Quote "Hush, now... I'm sure she will get tired soon. She used to fangirl over Adele and now she does it rarely. Only sings Hello now and then before the Las Vegas medley. For now I do like it though, but probably since I do not watch every Las Vegas video on Youtube. Quote

LukeD Posted February 27, 2017 at 10:41 PM Posted February 27, 2017 at 10:41 PM Ok. I will put this simply. IF the rushed, strained, pathetic studio recording of TSMGO ends up in the album, then I will NOT buy the album. Simple as that. Call me whatever you want, but this time I demand coherence, polished production and vocals. Recycling this mess of a record, which by the way will be A 2 YEARS OLD RECORDING BY 2018, is not the way to do it. Not to mention that song, meaning wise, has most certaintly served its purspose so far. 3 Quote

celine4evauk Posted February 27, 2017 at 10:52 PM Posted February 27, 2017 at 10:52 PM For a Spanish song, what about a duet with Gloria Estefan?? More like one of Gloria's dance/uptempo songs. And as for TSMGO - I would love a version of this on an actual cd release, but I vote for a live concert version. On a live concert cd. Not a studio album. Unless it's a 2cd studio album release. Then it would be separate. But I'd still prefer the lv version. Quote

Gloria is not much a singer of duets... also if it didn't happen back in 1999 short after her collaboration with Céline in her CBS TV special, I doubt it would happen now. Some artists are just so unapproachable to do certain things, and Gloria is one of them unfortunately Edited February 27, 2017 at 10:59 PM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Celine Fan 77 Posted February 28, 2017 at 09:31 AM Posted February 28, 2017 at 09:31 AM (edited) Ahh, Celine and Spanish songs ... Everything was going fine up from 1996 (she was doing one for each album!) but it all ended in 2003, when the Spanish version of Have You Ever Been In Love was finally not included in One Heart. I don't know what she's waiting for to get back to recording in Spanish! I gave up the idea of a possible entire Spanish album when she said she doesn't have as many dreams as before in the interview with Joselito Michaud, but one single Spanish song per album wouldn't hurt. Btw, I'm all in for a duet with Shakira, big fan here!
