Well... this is a nice example of when people can please elaborate a bit more of what they are trying to share. Especially when the link doesn't work.

 

Because he deleted it.

Was a tweet from Brendan Kelly saying "Waiting for Godot...I mean Celine", hence my reference to the Samuel Beckett play of the same title.

 

And if you're not familiar with the play - Godot never shows.

Maybe that's why he deleted it! 😂 She's been known to keep people waiting lately. Hope he didn't get stood up!

As scielle said, she delegates. As many bosses do. She's most definitely choosing the songs but the details of how many songs go on an album is worked out by someone else. She mentioned pushing for a double album and I'd imagine one of her managers has the task of talking to Sony executives about what she wants.

 

When she doesn't want to answer a question she usually deflects. Telling the woman to ask Pepe/Sydney was one of those instances imo. Don't think she wants people knowing she has another warehouse full of clothes, I think she regretted saying she had a warehouse of shoes lol. Just a thought. Or she was trying to veer away from the fashion questions since she's there to mainly talk music.

 

I really hope there's more than 12 songs on the album, 16 would be a decent number.

 

Funny how she states she is the boss but when it comes to closets,"ask pepe", when it comes to choose songs "my management team will figure it out"...

 

So what is she doing? Haha

 

At least, she dropped the " I don't have to prove anything anymore" and is back with the René-era mantra " my part is to sing the best that I can".

 

However how can she say that she has never received/recorded so many songs and end up with her shortest album since 1990? Any explanation to her non sense speech?

 

Also, Celine tends to talk in metaphors, sometimes her form of expressing herself aren't so clear but I think when she says she isn't the boss while saying she is the boss at other times she means she isn't what you'd think of a traditional boss. She's more a part of her team. Wearing a coat that says Queen (which could have also been about the band) or a bedazzled BOSS cap are her being meta imo, acknowledging what is said about her in a joking manner. I have a shirt that says Queen of Naps but that's not me at all.

Just another FIASCO Sony puts Celine in which can never happens with an artist on her level.

Period. I sometimes wish she had her own production company

regarding music and things were different and for better I have no doubt.

 

I'm going to wait for the album to come out, and nothing more. I'm sick with useless Sony to the top.

I hope they do a target exclusive deluxe like they did with LMBTL! I always preorder the album on amazon and iTunes but I love going to pick it up in store in release day!

Agree! And it puts her beautiful eyes in such a great focus. And her face get more dramatic this way and she feels like the francophone madame she is. The bun makes her classic, gives her Callas wibes. I hated it first but now I luuuuurve it!

So judging by the Brendan Kelly tweets, I think today may have been interview blitz day.

And, judging by IG stories, my favorite interviewer - Tom Power of CBC's Q radio show - was in Montréal today. And I have theories....

 

(This may well be wishful thinking, but I have hope... The show doesn't travel often, as it's daily and generally live-to-air from Toronto in the AM, so they can't take hours to go to and fro all the time. Only done for special occasions. And, I mean... what else would he be doing in Montreal at this time of year, especially since TIFF is about to kick off and that's usually Q's busiest time given all the stars in town...and there's nothing notable happening in Montreal that would take him there for the day....hmmmm)

Not sure how that works, and if labels share that information. Madonna released in June to get #1 but right after Springsteen announced album for the same day, stealing #1 in many markets. So nothing is guarantee even in summer. Also there are many local acts that release albums in Q4, so we'll see. Right now the only big countries I think #1 is guaranteed are Canada and France, UK depends on who else releases that week, same as US.

Yes, though from what I've seen yesterday AM it's pretty non-committal. As in "she's ready to promote new music before the end of the year" was I think what the original People source said, and some journalists are speculating on specific dates in November based on her past releases.

And if Sony is actually trying to do a concurrent release, surely that can only mean they did a duet? (Please?)

Yes, SNL! They haven't announced the full season lineup yet, so there's still hope. And I can only imagine what the interaction between Céline and Conan would be. They both have such goofy, almost absurdist senses of humor that, if Conan gets her "vibe" and plays off of it, it could be amazing.
