This is the start of a new beginning, and this album can say that clearly.

Shows our vast range of tastes on this forum, because I think DKL is terrible. The lyrics are bland the voice is dry and the song lacks a climax in my opinion. I’m looking forward to timeless epic ballads in the vein of “I Surrender” and “All By Myself” again.

I am sorry, "Play me like a love song" sounds boring to me.

 

It doesn't sound fresh or contemporary. I think (of course without knowing the complete song) that "Ashes" is much better.

 

To me the whole FOMO, Sia direction is much more promising. My music taste has developed. I simply do not like those heavy power ballads anymore.

Although there are exceptions: Hello, Shallow, Ashes

I had the same thought. I had to listen to it 4 or 5 times before I could make out much of anything that she was saying. It sounds great and I can't wait to hear the full song, but I'm hoping it's just the audio quality that's making it difficult to decipher.

Whats making me happy is that shes (from what we’ve heard) not hitting and sustaining crazy high notes and climaxes which she will struggle to do live. Seems like shes thinking ahead, doing climaxes which arent crazy hard and keeping them in keys which she will be able to perform in for a good few years to come with zero issue. Id rather that than a crazy climax she will scale down a few keys and then lip

I agree. Not only her pronunciation is weird, but to me it sounds like a mash-up of Recovering, Water and A Flame, Breakaway and Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful. I’ll wait for the full song but this snippet doesn’t sound promising.

i think it is a matter of taste. i like the freshness of Fomo too. PMLAL sounds quite heavy and eurovision but classical Celine for sure. But this summer i love what Fomo brings.

FOMO sounds far more Eurovision to me (and that's not a compliment...). And I don't find anything "fresh" in it whatsoever. Very staid, in fact, and frankly, just plain boring.

 

This is far more promising. The melody, the instrumentation, the performance... lyrics will always leave a lot to be desired with Celine (in English, at least), but this overall sounds far more interesting and much more of an earworm. (Though of course reserving judgement until we get the full thing).

I'm gonna jump on the repeat bandwagon: this song also doesn't do anything to me. It's kinda whiney and sounds (so far) like a typical ballad.
