"Courage" album - Official Topic

Recovering is boring as hell IMO so that’s not good thing that the snippet of PMLAL has similar vibes.

Recovering is a horrible song. What a wasted opportunity... Pink writes her one song and that is what we get????

Pink wrote so many fantastic ballads and songs. I love "Try".

Et la vie glisse sur l'eau du temps

La vie resiste, prend son elan

Pour un baiser elle peut se poser

Le temps qui compte est toujours compte

I don’t hear any similarities AT ALL with the new song and “Recovering”.

It's getting hot in this thread. You should maybe go back to streaming FOMO. Edited by Xpresso

I wonder if this was supposed to leak like this? Seems weird that this has got out. I’m sure Celine's team won’t be too happy!

I am a huge fan of FOMO and (above all) I won't take it lying done (or Poison or whatever), but I don't really like this new song... (the snipped actually). We'll see...

This snippet and Recovering both sound whiny IMO. Herein lies the similarity.

Something tells me no. Because the stories were removed so I’m sure celine’s Team approached them. Whatever the case I love it!

I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!

The snippet sounds so so good, "classic Celine", circa 98 voice, up to date instrumentals, all great!

My brain does not think of Recovery, but feels that instant strong emotion, like back in the early 90s, going to work teary (love my mascara!)

This song reminds me of ABM more than anything else. The drama and pathos in her voice summons the romantic power of her voice to strike some kind of emotional lightning in the listener.

But it's something more than that, because it's self-referential ... what she is crying out here is her surrender in the face of the millions of people who *demand* love songs from her, who might actually be content to rip her heart out from her chest if it promises one more moment of emotional ecstasy, one more high note, one more whispered crescendo.

And here, she's saying: I'm all yours. Take everything from me. Ravish me! Play me, exploit me, demand my emotions. I will give you that, but nothing more. I am, in this way, nothing more than a love song; but if this is to be my fate, I will give you everything.

In this way, even just from this snippet, I can feel in this song something akin to Edith Piaf's "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien." It's the musical embodiment of her career and a kind of glorious paradox, a defiant exhortation for the audience to take everything from her emotionally.

In this song she becomes like a genie, she demands that we take from her our fantasies, asking nothing in return but to be enjoyed. And through this, she becomes, finally, inexorably, all-powerful. She captures her zeitgeist. She becomes an immortal.

well, in this case it’s pretty clear who leaked it, because we see these people in the video. So they might get in trouble. Or maybe this was supposed to leak to see the fans reaction. Well, I have to say that the song is ok, but I want her to stick to the FOMO vibes and not go back to boring (sorry) and dramativ ballads. A few are ok, but not for the majority of the album! It is the lyrical and melodic equivalent, in a way, of the running scene in the ABM video, but in reverse. She is running back into the haunted house, a psychic theater she can never escape. She can never escape the ghost's desire, because the one thing he demands is the one thing she can give entirely. And I sense that the raw emotion in her voice here comes from the fact that she is singing also to Rene, perhaps even with some kind of bitterness or regret. The regret to have never given all of her love, to never have lived up to his fantasy.

He will always haunt this house, and she will always be his love song; a love song given human form, made flesh. The melancholy in the song is that now, in death, he can have her completely. Now she has become the perfect love song of his fantasy.

and here I have a problem. It’s wrong for her team and Sony to think that this is actually the general opinion, because it’s not. I want her to stick to a style like FOMO and leave the heavy ballads behind a little. She is more than a overly dramatic ballad singer and she can do much more. I want uplifting music from her, music to dance to, to have a good time. Not to cry to feel nostalgic. If they feel the need to put her in that category, fine, but provide for a ballance with an equal amount of fun, uplifting dance numbers

I think the problem here is that she hasn't really given us this kind of emotional performance in nearly twenty years. And in this time, she hasn't really had a hit.

We may not want more of it, but I think Ashes demonstrated that it's what people want from her; this kind of song (and I hope there are more of them) is ultimately the product that she sells.

And if presented in the right way, if introduced to the public (for example) in a wider context like the theme and title of an acclaimed Netflix documentary called "Play Me Like a Love Song," lightning can and will strike twice.

None of her hits have been predictable in terms of what was popular at the time. The only thing they have in common is volcanic emotion.

I am sorry, "Play me like a love song" sounds boring to me.

It doesn't sound fresh or contemporary. I think (of course without knowing the complete song) that "Ashes" is much better.

To me the whole FOMO, Sia direction is much more promising. My music taste has developed. I simply do not like those heavy power ballads anymore.

Although there are exceptions: Hello, Shallow, Ashes

Same here. I think it sounds boring and old. Celine is an artist, so I’m waiting her to try new things here and there. This song in not fresh enough. Sounds like something I’ve already listen before.

Still waiting for an album full of new atmosphere.

I think the song sounds great! It’s in my opinion a fresh take on a ballad. Having said this tho, I remember hearing the first 30 second snippet of “Always Be Your Girl” thinking it would be amazing and then I heard it in full and I found a extreme let down of a song, still not a fan. So time will tell!

My BF loves the snippet and he also loved FOMO. I do feel like he was shocked by FOMO though and the snippet today was what he wanted to hear. Despite that he is currently dancing to a bottle of wine to FOMO remix

I haven't heard this snippet, trying to abstain. But I'm seeing mixed emotions from people here. There are those that love it because it's a power ballad and those that aren't interested in it BECAUSE it's a power ballad? Lol. Can't wait to hear this song. I love seeing Celine venture into different genres but I'm always here for a song that'll hit me in the feels. Be it hopeful, heartbreak, self empowerment, it don't matter to me as long as it's powerful and she gets to use her vocals and emotions as we love to hear from her. Hopefully it has beautiful instrumentals.

I'm seeing that this album (if this song is from the album) will cover different styles/genres and ranges of emotion. So, those not happy with this one need not fret because this is merely one song. We're not getting a ballad album and we are not getting an EDM album.

I hope we get a rock song if there's room for one XD

I really like it so far. Reminds me of LTAL album vibes but in a magnificent way

To give you a little idea, without spoiling it, its like a more updated, slightly darker version of The Greatest Reward, spliced with Breakaway... to me at least
