"Courage" album - Official Topic

Celine has stated multiple times that she has recorded quite a few songs. Personally, I’m glad she’s taking her time. I feel like there’s a lot of thought being put into the coherence of this album. No news is good news to me, unlike with LMBTL we had constant delays, botched concepts and last minute changes.

 

Stop bringing up the 90s. It’s no longer the 90s. It’s no longer the height of Celine’s career. There’s no longer the urgency to pump out albums like a machine to establish her career.

 

This is also her first album where she is at the helm. The process has changed. Rather than picking the 20 or 30 songs to record from a pile of demos, it seems as if she’s recording whatever she connects to and will decide from there what makes the cut. Her albums were never “ready” in two weeks. She just laid down her vocals in two weeks, and that was because her schedule forced her into that regiment. There was still post production and other things to be taken care of.

That’s what happens as a singer’s career advances. And it hasn’t been 6 years since her last album. English album, yes. But she has an international career, and EUS came out in 2016. LMBTL was 2013, while SA was 2012. She’s been active. 3 years is really not a long time between albums.

I just want a somewhat coherent sound on the album! But that isn't depending on the type of songs really, more of a producing issue.

 

 

 

I would love to have a 16/17 tracks album :wub: I still remember when ADHC album came out..

Nowadays it's so different. They will pick only 12 songs at the end. she must have recorded dozens of songs since she started recording the new album. And many times I catch myself thinking: they have plenty of unreleased tracks she could release a new album every year.

Look at Taking Chances where a track like Map To My Heart doesn't make the final cut of the regular edition of the album and a song like Alone gets released as a single (and kills the album like GTSW killed ANDHC).

 

Exactly.This is what I find the most frustrating about her recent recording career.

There is so much in the Sony vault that will never see the light of day. And I bet you a bunch of those unreleased songs are gems that many people would find much more interesting than the stuff that ends up on the (disappointingly few) albums they end up releasing.

This idea could have worked back in the 90s or 00s. It is too late now. Nobody will care about a song written by Shania or a duo.

Let us not forget how many fans hated her short blonde hair, and complained until she got extensions. I remember her commenting about this ordeal, and even though she tried to brush it off, you could sense she was a little hurt by the comments. I hope that her fan base is a little more adventurous these days, and will allow her to express herself truly - not only physically, but artistically. She cannot be all things to all people!

 

This recent shift to a more updated style of music is reflective of her own existential yearning to escape the stale formula that kept her tied to Vegas. She’s not trying to be “young”, but fresh and current. Her friends are a lot younger than she is (for the first time in her life) and I think that’s helping her take for a more modern approach. “Daking Jances”, ya know? ��

yea but didnt celine said in her recent interviews that she has MORE THAN ENOUGH songs to fill MULTIPLE ALBUMS (it was celines OWN words after all!!) she said she recorded around 40-50 something songs (OR MORE!!)

 

 

so why cant she make MULTIPLE albums with most of those songs instead of locking them in sonys stupid vault to NEVER see the light of day (& like a few others has stated, maybe some of those might be JUST AS GOOD as the songs that do end up on the album or EVEN BETTER!!)

 

celine can again do kind of like she did back in 2002-2003, when she released the "ANDHC" album first, then used most of the other "leftover" songs to release the "one heart" album during the very next year!!

 

so with the leftover songs from this new album she can release ANOTHER "new" album next year or in 2021 with the leftover songs, & it will NOT be anymore "extra work" on celine because the songs are ALREADY RECORDED from the recording sessions for this upcoming album!!

 

***for those of you fans who will complain that we are asking celine to "work herself to death & neglect & abandon her kids by recording more albums & songs" or some other very untrue crapola that NOBODY said, we are NOT asking for her to do that cause again, the songs are ALREADY RECORDED!!***

 

sorry but i will neverrrrrr understand why locking the 30+ songs that will not end up on this album in a vault for eternity (cause even when celine passes away, which could be a REALLY LOOOONG TIME FROM NOW, i think the songs in sonys vault will still not be released ever,) is "better" than releasing the darn songs to make celine, sony, all the songwriters, producers, engineers, musicians, etc $$$$$$... helloooooo i think that would make much more sense & be much more financially & musically LOGICAL dont you think lol!! 😊😊😉😉👍👍

So looking at the schedule courage tour, starts on 18 Sep. I am pretty sure by this time we will have at least 2 songs after FOMO from courage album. She has got to see some songs from the new album otherwise the courage tour is pointless if she sings old songs.

There is a gap between 5 Nov an 1 Dec of the concert. 8 Nov is friday, so most likely this is the release date and between 5 Nov to 1 Dec, she can promote the album i e talk shows, tape special, etc

You fail to mention that Madame X was #1 on iTunes for a few hours in some countries then down to #2 or #3... We will only know in one week what the actual chart positions are.

Also, M spent a lot of money on some videos like the 6-min long Dark Ballet and she has 2.1M views on YT (also a soft release 3 days before FOMO) and FOMO has just passed the 1M mark. Not that big of a difference really for such a big investment.

But I would love to see a nice MV for a Celine song that is promoted properly to put the word out that she has new music!

I don’t like her new music at all and watched her cringeworthy interview on The Graham Norton Show here in UK last night, she did not come across well at all. I felt sorry for Graham, must have been a really tough night lol
