Like this: Celine will focuse on doing her concerts (#dinero), Sony will release a song or two as singles without any music videos, Celine and Sony will halfass the entire promotion, only the very necessary will be made, she will sell anyway without promo. Tour will end. Dead of the new English album. Step 2: 1) endless waiting, 2) French album after endless waiting, 3) no promo, 5 year break I think this is how things went back in Rene's final years. At his peak Rene was an untouchable force. He had a huge vision and he was relentless in constructing the icon CELINE DION. He was a genius -- and, honestly, I'm realizing that more and more as I reflect on Celine's entire career. However, as Rene got older and had so many health scares -- that took its toll on how they approached Celine's career. On top of this, Celine wanted to focus on having and raising her children. So Vegas became a way for them to keep the legacy alive (in a big way!) -- but they just faced so many personal family issues in Rene's last years, that her career took a backseat. So it all became a bit stagnant and predictable for us hardcore fans and I'm sure for Celine herself. The one thing she could control was showing up to her shows and leaving it all on the stage. The records, singles, promotion, etc. was, I'm sure, overwhelming and just not a priority. Now that Vegas is finally ending and Celine has honored Rene's dream, and her boys are getting older and more independent, I truly think we'll get more and more surprises when it comes to her career. We'll get some of that 80s / 90s va va voom from Celine again! I bet it'll feel so thrilling and a bit scary for her to know that she won't be returning to Vegas in the foreseeable future. Another good sign is Celine's been surrounding herself with things she loves -- dance and fashion -- and this fuels her creativity. As we saw at the Ace Hotel event, she's getting a big second wind and this will be fantastic for her music and how she promotes it. The younger generation seems eager to embrace anything she releases, as we've seen in the recent Dionaissance. Also the younger creative people, like Pepe, who she surrounds herself with also will help to inspire her and the ways in which she makes bold, fresh choices from here on out. I think she is more empowered now than ever before -- as an artist and as a woman. Personally, I want some amazing music videos for this new English album. Videos that unite Celine the fashion icon who promotes loving yourself with Celine Dion the greatest singer alive today. And I'd also just luuuurve a documentary or docu-series documenting Rene's passing / the conquering of & the last chapter of Vegas / as well as this new beginning for Celine as she embarks on the world tour and first English album since Rene's death. In a nutshell: I'm super hopeful that the promo for this album will exceed our expectations now that she's officially beginning a new chapter and she won't be bogged down by Vegas for the first time in a long time.
