MHWGO?! What?! Honestly, I know it can be overplayed, but seeing her live myself, it just does something to you. Seeing that song is just simply amazinf. Kinda like an "omg that's Celine up there on stage!". That's just my view. And I love LCMM/RDMH, but I know I'm in the miniority so I'll pipe down LOL.

 

I realize I'm in the minority with MHWGO. Plus I know it'll never be dropped. I just wish they would find some other way of incorporating it. I'm tired of her closing with it. I LOVE the Pandora concert version of this song.

 

As far as RDMH/LCMM she has other uptempo songs that could be used in its place. DOL with something else with it could work. Just blanking in another good one to go there to make a medley.

I don't mind BYLM but I do wish she would get out of the rut of having the audience sing that last part. I think it's sad because every time I've been there the majority of the audience just sits there. It has to be deflating for her.

Agreed. I think it worked for TCWT but they should've dropped it after that.

Because Rene has loved that song since he discovered Jacques Brel when he was stuck at home with mononucleosis in his early 20s (I've spent way too much time reading biographies of Rene). And he's wanted Celine to do that song forever -- at least since '99 (remember the interview where Mego said they couldn't ask Celine to sing it when Rene was sick in '99?). And Celine finally agreed to sing it for this show - and it was magnificent, because she has the emotional intensity, dramatic stage presence, and, of course, the voice, to give it a stunning interpretation.

 

Nonetheless, I voted for it to be removed, too, because it had its moment. It's not a song you can sing too many times without it seeming contrived. Plus, we know the number of French songs in a US show is going to be very limited, so I, too, would like her to do one of her own (SSDA, please!!)

I'm just quoting my earlier post on this topic to point out, that for whatever reason, when I typed up my ideal setlist some of my options were highlighted in bold. I just wanted to say that I don't know why it printed that way, but it doesn't mean anything. I wasn't trying to highlight certain songs over others or anything.

 

Each song on my list holds equal importance to me and I want Celine to sing them all! I was just clarifying that encase Aldo, Rene, or Celine happen to see this. I don't think they will, but you never know. I really hope they do!

While I know a lot of us are tired of "The Power Of Love," "Because You Loved Me" and "My Heart Will Go On," wouldn't it feel just a bit odd leaving Celine's concert without hearing all of those songs? While we may be tired of them, I think they are much more integral to our concert going experience than we may even realize ourselves.

I have always loved her Celine show. part of me is very sad that it's going to change. I'll never forget how happy I was at the premiere and I associate the songs she sang for the first time in her career with this time and this show, to me, seemed like Celine: classy, sophisticated, and grand. I also am excited about different possibilities. I know many fans love her pop hits from the 1990s, but I'd rather keep them in the 1990s.

 

I said it before, I'll say it again. Celine the show was PERFECT in it's first run. But after they started cutting and pasting (well mostly cutting) like removing the Micheal part but keep in the instrumental medley was just stupid and lazy.

 

I think LCMM should be played in full again and a bit modernised.

 

About Thank You.... aren't you guys mistaking it with Thankful ?!?! TY is an ok song, but I think Thankful would be an amazing song to hear live.... It would be a great show opening too

No, I am not mistaking "Thank You" with "Thankful." "Thank You" is much more beautiful and meaningful than "Thankful" is to me. "Thankful," while a good song, is far too overly produced and cliche with things one would expect from a Celine song. "Thank You" is restrained, simple and far more heartfelt.

I think Thankful is much more soulful and it would be amazing with a bit choir (on the screen). Plus the song has a good climax... for me TY doesn't really go anywhere.

Because NMQP is one of the best french songs ever written. It was only a matter of time before she performed it. Saying that though, she's done it now so I'm all for her replacing it for one of her own. As long as it's not PQTME!

I didn't know that tid-bit about Rene. I know why she stopped performing it in Vegas, obviously. But regardless of that she needed to move on to another french song.

I agree this work well! Not sure about opening but possibly right before or after a costume change? It needs to be somewhere to make an impact. But I feel like it's not uptempo enough to open. And I'm definitely tired of closing with it. Lol

As for me, I voted en everything except for Open Arms (it's the only cover in this show that I really adore!), WDMHBN, TR (it can go, but I'd rather keep it because it can be considered as "new" if you know what I mean in comparison to other old hits), MHWGO (I still love it, no matter what, but it mustn't be at the end!) and LMBTL.

 

I've seen new setlists that some of you proposed and I don't understand why you keep All by myself, it's become, along with RDMH, a song that was brought back to life but needs a rest now! ABM had it moment during the tour, RDMH was a really good addition for the last leg of AND and later during the tour it was ok but both of them are no longer exciting. I'm really tired of them...

I like the fact that as far as the covers are concerned you included Tina, good choice. Whitney would be logical too (inspiration for Celine) but I'm against it, don't like it. And I hate the idea of Adele medley

 

As for TYLAM, I'm all for it's performance but not sure about Robin Williams... I don't see the point. Personally, I don't associate him with the song at all....

That would be brilliant. She's always adored the support from not only her family, but also her fans. I feel that she should sing a song dedicated to her fans, similar to "My Love" on TCWT. "Thank You" is the perfect song for that.

Nope, no confusion here. I actually prefer thank you over thankful.

 

For me, the lyric draws me in and Celine's delivery on this song destroys my heart, and there is nothing better then having a song do that lol. I can't think of one time that I haven't felt something in my stomach listening to it. Not to mention my theatrical sing along in the car.
