Celine Show Setlist - POLL

Hey everyone!

 

Being an active member of the forum the past 3 years I certainly recall a strong amount of fans posting their suggestions and criticisms about the setlist of Celine's latest Las-Vegas show. All these thoughts find a new base today since it's announced that the show is about to be revamped! Therefore, I decided to create this poll...

 

Guess, it'll be fun to check whether the final decision of Celine's team matches ours!

Same, plus "At Seventeen" and "The Prayer." I feel like there are many other songs in her own repertoire that she has a deeper connection with that should replace At Seventeen and I've never really liked The Prayer live, always never sounded as beautiful as the album version.

In my opinion the James bond Medley is just so redundant. Nobody goes to See Céline to See her sing a JB medley. Its a pure waste of place in the setlist that could be used for some amazing original Songs of hers. Or maybe a Medley of the fan all time favourites.

I voted for -1 because you loved me ( can't stand the song anymore after so many years) -2 Love can move mountains and River Deep ( love can move mountains gets worse and worse each time she sings it imo) -3 Ne me quitte pas ( I fall asleep and the faking of the emotions every time she sings it) - 4 lullaby ( the name says enough)

5 at seventeen ( no need to sing about ur younger years - you are now a fullgrown adult and you look great! the past is the past -no ugly duckling anymore!)

I don't know if I voted for overjoyed as well, but of course that one needs to go to. I cringe everytime I hear that song!

 

As for the rest of the songs: I like the medley with the power of love a lot, even it is lipped, As for my heart will go on, still one of my favorite Celine songs but it needs to be revamped with a better arrangement for the orchestra in oscar's or grammy\s style. At this moment it sounds like it has always been sounding - dull and uninspired. Time for the orchestra to show what they got! And that is the main thing I complain about: why having a 31 piece orchestra when you don't use it to its full potential?

 

But I have to say, as much as I like the Bond medley. That medley can go as well, and mr Paganini too. I never liked that song.

The show is called CELINE - so bring us more CELINE!

22. There you'll be - pearl harbor - dramatic background, Celine in a gorgeous gown ( surprise and the audience will love the song)

I don't know why but I really like Open Arms and as an opening song With curtain fall, I'd vote to keep it.

If it's not going to be live, I'd get rid of MHWGO, although the that'd never happen. And I'd like to see IACBTMN/POL medley replaced with full-length orchestral versions of both songs sung 100% live! I'm thinking of the David Foster concert in Japan. Amazing.

 

Some choices are obscure here and would never make the show. If Céline ever had a show solely for fan consumption rather than worldwide appeal, it might be a possibility but right now certain songs just wouldn't be included.

 

Having said that, I was shocked (but pleased) when WDMHBN came back, although this makes sense as it was such a hit. And The Reason - I'm glad Céline chose it cause I love this song.

 

I really didn't mind the Bond theme - I guess it's a way for her to have fun singing well known songs that arent hers. However, I think they should scrap the medley and have her sing "License to Kill" or something!

 

its very hard looking at the list - I don't mind most of the songs but when you think they take valuable time that could be given to showcase some of Céline's more obscure or lesser known stuff you kind of want an overhaul.

 

Berceuse could replace Lullaby (same song) and would satisfy French quota. I'd like to see more French stuff - a French medley at least. Ne Me Quitte Pas was okay but should be replaced by her own stuff. Je n'ai pas be soon d'amour and Une chance qu'on s'a would be great! Loved Starmania medley straight into Le Blues du businessman at the Olympia. I think that could work here - PLLEEEAAASSSSE????

 

Sorry For Love has been a favourite recently - would love her to sing that!

 

It's really too hard to say. So many amazing songs and too short a timeframe - if she has to stick with songs non-devoted fans might know then Call The Man would be an amazing addition and I would love her to do The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - this could replace At Seventeen? Although I do like that song too! I'd love Prierre Païenne or Sur or même bateau but that will never happen.

 

Think Twice she does so well and is an incredible song - shame she doesn't do it in Vegas cause it wasn't such a hit in the US.

 

In Some Small Way would be nice, as would Sleep Tight, and this would satisfy the baby/motherhood theme. I'd like to hear Si je n'ai rien de toi and Water From The Moon.

 

Personal favourites that would never make the show would be - The Greatest Reward and Breakaway.

 

Instead of a Bond Medley, somebody suggested a Tina Turner medley - just imagine Céline doing Nutbush City Limits instead of River Deep!

Or a Proud Mary/River Deep/Nutbush/The Best Medley!! Amazing... But then Private Dancer and When The Heartache Is Over would also be amazing....!!

 

I need to stop before I create the perfect show in my head cause it will lead to disappointment!

When I went to Antwerp in 2013 it was amazing to hear that song - don't care if it was lipped at that moment - it was just amazing to hear it 'live' - love that song. Only versions we know are the Vegas bootlegs/Jamaica bootlegs, so it is great to hear it in perfect quality, surrounded with all those photo's from her early years, and Celine 'singing it' in front of this crowd!

I took out Overjoyed, James Bond Medley (as much as I liked it for a short time, it can go.), Lullaby, and Ne Me Quitte Pas. The others I liked, but I'm not saying they have to stay. I'd be fine with a completely new setlist with a few of the others, that's just the ones I would take out immediately. I'd have to sit down and think about a dream setlist. So much to think through. LOL

It's time for the "safe to sing" songs that she might be the most comfortable with to take a hike and introduce songs that have been sung live not as often.

He is a good singer but I am not there to see him sing a full 4 minute song. If a costume change has to be a few minutes long then I want them to come up with something awesome as an interval. I guess I'm just tired of her singing these songs. I've seen her live several time and each time these songs have been included (exception to this is when I saw her in Montreal and Quebec City). I think I just want her to change it up. She has so many songs now that can get an audience going that to always choose LCMM/RDMH is getting old.
