Celine Show Setlist - POLL

This was hard, because I actually love the show as is. Open Arms is one of my favorites and I hope she keeps it. I voted for Mr Paganini and James Bond - because even though they're both great, there's not much of a Celine connection. And NMQP, because I'd rather she did one of her own French songs.

 

And RDMH/LCMM - even though the audience still responds well to that, its time for a change.

You guys need to accept that she will always sing MHWGO, BYLM, TPOL, IACBTMN, even if 100% of her fans are super annoyed with those songs.

 

Why? Because there are more people on earth that are fans of just these 3-4 particular songs, than there are actual Celine Dion fans or other celine's songs fans combined!

I guess I'm just tired of her singing these songs. I've seen her live several time and each time these songs have been included (exception to this is when I saw her in Montreal and Quebec City). I think I just want her to change it up. She has so many songs now that can get an audience going that to always choose LCMM/RDMH is getting old.

 

I'm hoping that with the return, we'll hear MHWGO, IACBTMN, and TPOL live.

I don't mind BYLM but I do wish she would get out of the rut of having the audience sing that last part. I think it's sad because every time I've been there the majority of the audience just sits there. It has to be deflating for her.

I have always loved her Celine show. part of me is very sad that it's going to change. I'll never forget how happy I was at the premiere and I associate the songs she sang for the first time in her career with this time and this show, to me, seemed like Celine: classy, sophisticated, and grand. Definitely. Especially bylm. Like during AND when David Foster joined her on stage for it. They should do a medley of TPOL & BYLM stripped down. It would freshen it up for us and Celine. And the audience still get those songs.

The songs I would vote off hadn't I made the mistake of choosing ''Vote'' before actually voting ( ) woud be:

 

1.(If You Can't Sing It) You'll Have To Swing It (Mr Paganini) because I see no real connection to Celine.

 

2.Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel) because she has original lullabies in both english and french.

 

3.Goldfiner / Nobody Does It Better / Live And Let Die because a medley of fan favorites would fit the self-titled show much better.

 

4.Overjoyed because it is a borefest.

 

5.At Seventeen ^ DITTO.

 

6.Ne Me Quitte Pas because the highest selling francophone act of all time who happens to record/sing in french since 1981 should be pick one of her own original songs!

 

7.Love Can Move Mountains / River Deep Mountain High for so many reasons I'm actually bored to write down.

I love Open Arms! And HDYKTMP is the most Celinish cover of them all. It is also the best sung song of the show IMO. Plus, the hologram duet makes it special.

 

What I want more than anything is them to find a balance between classic and modern. I need a coherent setlist. No more Incredible followed by Ne Me Quitte Pas.

I would love to see think twice in there & that's the way it is!

The rest I think will always be in her show but maybe some new arrangements to change it up a bit.

Maybe thank you would work if she still wanted to do a walking down the aisle part.

But with HDYKTMP they have the hologram and I'm guessing that's pretty cool to see in the show.

I adore HDYKTMP too. But Open Arms... I don't know, I loved it back then for the first year or so of the show, but over time, I feel like it lost its meaning. I feel like there can be a better opening to a show that's entitled "Celine," hence starting the show with one of her own songs.

This. Yes, absolutely. Maybe not for all of them (that is, not to do all of them in one show the same way, but I think she should sprinkle a couple of piano-only versions of her classics into the show). I always thought the way David Foster did MHWGO with Charice on Oprah was amazing -- the piano is so beautiful, and I love the "foreeeeeever this way" moment they created (around 1:33)

Because NMQP is one of the best french songs ever written. It was only a matter of time before she performed it. Saying that though, she's done it now so I'm all for her replacing it for one of her own. As long as it's not PQTME!

Its deeply emotional and would be a great addition to her comeback from an unexpected break. It would also sound amazing with an orchestra which I gather is still apart of the show?

I second that! I wish it would be totally new!

 

As for me, I voted en everything except for Open Arms (it's the only cover in this show that I really adore!), WDMHBN, TR (it can go, but I'd rather keep it because it can be considered as "new" if you know what I mean in comparison to other old hits), MHWGO (I still love it, no matter what, but it mustn't be at the end!) and LMBTL.

 

I've seen new setlists that some of you proposed and I don't understand why you keep All by myself, it's become, along with RDMH, a song that was brought back to life but needs a rest now! ABM had it moment during the tour, RDMH was a really good addition for the last leg of AND and later during the tour it was ok but both of them are no longer exciting. I'm really tired of them...

I like the fact that as far as the covers are concerned you included Tina, good choice. Whitney would be logical too (inspiration for Celine) but I'm against it, don't like it. And I hate the idea of Adele medley

 

As for TYLAM, I'm all for it's performance but not sure about Robin Williams... I don't see the point. Personally, I don't associate him with the song at all....

An idea I came up with a while back was to replace "Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)" with "Thank You." This segment would then be altered to include all members of Celine's family, friends and artistic inspirations. It would be her way of saying, "Thank You," to everybody who has touched her life. This would also help make way for the removal of the James Bond segment of the show which features RC.

 

In regards to what others have been saying about "Loved Me Back To Life" being a great show opener, I just don't think it would work best in that position. I think "The Greatest Reward" would work best. "Loved Me Back To Life" could work well as an encore number. Just when you think the show is over and everything is dark, you hear the, "i iii iii" introduction. The crowd goes wild and the song carries on.

Ι already have this idea of making a second poll to see which songs the fans want to be included.

 

I'll create it once I get the impression this poll has done its circle. It's too soon now, I want much more people to participate in this one!
