Can you believeI think I have never seen this performance???? HAHAHAHAHAHA... It was amazing even she was not full at the high notes but the orchestra sounded amazing... THIS should be done with all the song at LV show... For what we have seen/hear, they have an orchestra but you can even notice... almost all the classic songs sounds exactly as always with the regular band in all the tours... no new arrangements... If you hear for example the concert Florence & the mAchine did with a full orchestra, some of her iconic songs are almost unrecognizable and sound delicious! I hope that the new shows with a new musical director use better the full orchestra! They are always so afraid of changing any note of the iconic songs but it would be great if we hear All by Myself, or the Power of Love or IACBTMN or MHWGO in some other way... for once at least....

I once read an article about Madonna regarding her confessions tour. In the article they talked about Madonna wanting that the music on tour sounded exactly like the album. So they brought 4 mac computers along during the tour. On the computers instruments and Madonna's were real time filtered with the same filters and effects:

Her voice and the live instruments immediately got a filter treatment so everything sounded like it was on the album.

So why, with all the technology nowadays and with the amount of money available for something huge like a Celine show, why would they not be able to do that here as well? Another thing they could do is simply let the drums on tape instead of a live drummer. They should do the same with Incredible.

Good point! I really hope the reason of letting her old band members go was to try getting into those kind of things. If not for Vegas show then maybe for the future world tour.

That is what I want to point out as well: They never really took full advantage of the orchestra. The band's arrangement completely dominated the track, esspecially in My heart will go on.

the live arrangement is not bad at all, but the drums completely lack the sound of the album - big r&b drums. In Vegas those were missing in both lmbtl and incredible

This is what I have been thinking too...Ken created the entire show for Celine...he helped come up with all the creative aspects of the show with Celine. Without him for her return in August...I do not see how the show will be that much different at least visually. Costumes will probably change, and song selection will change in some way, but visually and structurally I do not know right now. Unless they have hired a new director which is what I heard right when the band was let go. Then I saw that Kens name is still attached to all the new advertisements for her return. So right now its a head scratcher as to how much or how little the show will change when it starts again in August. Ken is obviously focused on Mariahs new effort, so I dont think he has personally done any changes to Celines show. IT is possible the the images on the screens could be different without him though. They could completely redo those for a new look. Bottom line with Kens named attached to the return of the show its still up in the air how much will really be different besides a few song choices. I cant wait to see what changes will be made. If i find out anything I will of course share it here first.

I completely agree with how beautiful she looked at the Grammy's. She has the most beautiful eyes with the amount of makeup she had on. She looks so soft and, I don't know, just so sooo pretty. Do you see how her left eye goes up a little bit at the end? Almost like Bambi eyes. Not us looking at her, but her left eye. A person only sees that when she has little makeup on, really beautiful. I sometimes wish that she would go for that look again, even her hair looked lovely. Love the more natural look. Ok, now I'm sounding a bit looney.......

I'm already having nightmares about missing my flight. Last night I dreamed that I wasn't even dressed when a bus came to get me to take me to the airport. They said they could wait for about fifteen minutes which was just long enough for me to hurriedly get dressed in the gown I wanted to wear to the show, but wow I woke up kinda freaking out. And as for songs in a show sounding just like they do on an album, um, why exactly would you want that? I understand the familiarity of it all, but I want it to sound recognizeable but different!

A random thought that just came to my mind is that there is a small possibility that fans in Asia will be disappointed with the canceled tour and the following announcement that Celine is coming back. The tour was supposed to take place in October and November of 2014, it was canceled, only for Celine to come back a few months after the cancellation and announce her return to Vegas. And no comments on the tour so far. The break lasted for about 7 months, and while Rene's condition is crucial, maybe it would have been better for her image in Asia to actually postpone her return a bit longer.

 

I haven't given this much thought, it just came to my mind and that's why I find the possibility of disappointment to be small. I actually tend to feel that the fans will eventually support Celine given the fact it has been such a tough year for her and that she has been very consistent throughout her career.

He's not well enough for them to tour ANYWHERE, not just Asia. I do think she should, and probably will, at least say something. And I think they'll come around!

That was "A Song For You"- but a cover of another song of the same name- not the one from TC, obviously. It was by the... The Carpenters, I think. It was for Dec 31,2012 only I think. I wish we got video of the full thing!
