It's put me off the idea of travelling out there to see the show, I'd expect a m&g or 5 course meal thrown in with boutique vouchers for that price lol!!

Oh my word, this really sounds like it's going to be one huge night, in every way possible. I still don't want to sound selfish, but with all of the changes etc, that is going to happen, isn't there, don't they have like a team that sees to filming of a show. Just found a great deal on Expedia: Hotel (FLAMINGO!) and Flight for $500 and then a $55 ticket to the show on the 29th. I know, it's in the nosebleeds but having seen AND... from the 2nd Mezzanine and the 1st Mezzanine, there really is NO bad seat in the house. Really considering getting it the moment my new American Express card gets here. That would be SO affordable! Fly in the day before, see the show on the 29th, fly home. EEEK! I just spoke with a rep at Caesars...and they told me August 27th will be a huge night for the show and everything Celine related. She said they have been discussing a huge surprise for opening night..she also said that the show could ultimately completely change from start to finish when more discussions take place. She said many ideas are in the works and they are trying to bring a brand new energy to the show...any more info I get I will pass along

I was sooooo close to finally seeing and hearing SSDA live Hey I don't have a problem with PQTME or SSDA!! I think those would be the most logical. I wouldn't want PQTME to become like MHWGO for her though. You know what I mean? She doesn't want to do it night after night.

This is amazing news... Can't even begin to think how things will change... The classics will have to stay of course, but what else have they got in store.

 

Personally, I want a full length version of The Power Of Love 100% live. obviously I'm not expecting a performance akin to those of the early nineties... But Céline's vocals are still strong and if they tone down the song somehow I see no reason why she couldn't do it live. Even if she sang a shortened version acapella that would be amazing... I just love this song - never tire of it - especially when it's live and I know they can do something. Nobody will mind if they tinker with a standard, as long as it's still recognisable, and nobody expects an exact replication of the early recording!

 

I'm thinking the medley in Au Coeur du stade... Gentle, acoustic versions of old classics with a full length song at the end - she could do this with her ballads and finish with The Power Of Love, understated but powerful!

 

I don't know - I'm just thinking out loud. But these songs are going to figure somewhere - I'm a fan of pretty much all of them anyway - and wouldn't be disappointed to see them all again. But how amazing would it be to have those standards performed 100% live, even if adjusted to suit her voice today. I'm always so worried there will be a technical fault during a lipped song and Céline's reputation is ruined, even though we all know she is the most consistently amazing, powerful and talented singer out there. I was in Paris in 2013 and my heart was in my throat when the playback for My Heart Will Go On malfunctioned! Worse nightmare come true! Thankfully they handled it very well, but let's not put Céline in that position again!

Yeah I would love that but SHE would love it more! That response just doesn't happen in Vegas I don't know why.

I've come to the conclusion that she doesn't get the same type of response in Vegas as in shows outside of Sin City because of the show's format. (The same could be said for "A New Day...") The two shows were spectacles. They aren't ever formatted or sold as "concerts". While I know it's semantics, if her show were to be just a concert, no theme (i.e. Cirque du Soleilish/31-piece orchestra), I have a feeling she'd garner a much more energetic response. However, how is an audience to feel comfortable with cheering, clapping yelling when a show is far too serious ("Celine") or is extremely theatrical ("A New Day...")? Make her show a regular concert with amazing effects and you'd have an audience much more willing to engage, in my opinion.

I, for one, hate sitting next to someone who is screaming and singing along off key. That's a nightmare to me after paying several hundred dollars. I want to hear her sing. Omg, I Can't believe I'm even considering this... I would be using almost all of my savings for the flights alone (no short trip from Finland), then I should lend money from my parents for the show and hotel.. and I have to eat and buy loads of Celine merch from the Celine store... And since I would be going to the other side of the world for her, I would definitely attend two shows... Jeesh. I'm gonna need to loan about $1000.

 

And I would be going there alone. OMG, I need one of you guys to come and hold my hand, I've never traveled alone, let alone to the other side of the world Oh, the things I'd do for Celine...

I personally think they should incorporate more dramatic and exciting lighting into her vegas show like the concerts in Paris recently. It works very well and makes the songs come to life even more. For example A New Day River Deep was exciting with the huge lights and tresses coming down everywhere...the CELINE version so far is more laid back and the lighting is not very exciting. They could stand to update more dramatic lighting throughout the show in my opinion! It would make it even better than it already is!

I do understand what you are saying but I like it when the crowd is into it! I've been there with "dead" crowds that just clap politely and crowds that were on fire and in my opinion she feels the latter and is so much more engaged. It's funny how we are all different.
