Make the setlist of the 18 songs they use now, take out 9 of them and put 9 other songs. It is a big difference, it could be pretty much a new show.

 

Even if you take out 6 songs (old boring covers) and put her own hits the show wins so much on originality.

 

The problem is that we don't know how they count "Goldfinger" / "Nobody Does It Better" / "Live and Let Die" = 1 song or 3 songs because if the latter is true then it wouldn't be a big change (those 3 songs + 3 other covers)

 

But, of course, I agree that each cover out is a positive change!

Also, in the Journal the Montréal (below the article) there's some info about Scott... he supposedly worked with the Cirque du soleil at one point... and so did Aldo. So they probably know each other.

 

Interesting. Makes me think one primary reason for the change is that Aldo wants to bring in his own people. I still think its kind of sad.

So I have my tickets for opening night... A bit disappointed with the price adjustments and how much I had to pay for decent seats,

I think that it's almost 100% sure that I'm Alive and PQTME will be back. As for the others, it'll be either obvious - and safe - choice of a hit (like TP or TLYM) or a very big surprise (TTWII). I wouldn't count on the second possibility though. Edited April 8, 2015 at 12:14 PM by anewdayhascome

I won't grumble too loudly cause it's Céline and if I can afford it, I know I'll always pay what I can to have the best seats.

However, the best tickets were already quite expensive to begin with so doubling the cost seems like a smack in the face. It seems unlikely I'll ever get within the first five rows at this rate... Especially as I usually have to pay for two tickets if I want company as I could never expect anybody to pay top price when it's me who wants the better seats.

It's just sad that the price hike will only favour the wealthy - many of who won't necessarily be huge fans. And of course, there will be fans bankrupting themselves to pay for tickets in addition to a trip to Vegas... I know I'm just about done paying for my trip in 2013.

 

I know it's my choice if I want to pay huge amounts of money to see Céline and some people would call it crazy ... But I feel for the fans who will never have the means to fund a trip to Vegas or to buy tickets to Céline's show... I'm thankful that I am (just about) able to pay for this experience but if this trend continues then I won't be able to for much longer - I already paid for so-called 'AXS premium seating' and as such have paid almost twice as much for average seats as I did for my Front Orchestra 4 seats two years ago... Not good...

I am not pleased with the price increase for the first rows to be closer BUT I have noticed that this is normal at the moment for the biggest acts in Vegas...Top prices are 500 for the first few rows as well for Elton John and Britney spears and now Celine has joined them as having the highest priced first rows of seats. So it looks like it is not just her with those expensive seats!

I know there was a mini-tour to promote the newest french album, but I would also loooooove something off Sans Attendre. I wouldn't mind To Love You More, I'm Alive, I Surrender or A New Day Has Come. A little over The Prayer, although if she did it with Josh I'd be okay because that has not been done in a while. PQTME almost kinda has to be there, but SSDA could also work too. But prefer newer French songs or rarely done ones, like A Cause or something off D'elles. That album didn't get a lot done off it! which is cuz it's my favorite French album of hers.

So why change the musical director to play the same setlist as taking chances tour! I didn't realise this... It kind of softens the blow and suggests it's more to do with the venues and competition...

But it still feels like exploitation... These organisers are all already making a fortune and people are traveling from all over the world to see these artists... The idea of a residency is that the performer is, in some way, more accessible, surely? Does that mean average prices for future tours will be $500? It shouldn't be allowed! VIP packages and golden circles and whatever else you can think of that literally exclude the average show-goer from the best seats should be banned! Whatever happened to first come first served?

But it's a business. That's why there are cheaper seats in the balcony. Fans who can't afford the front orchestra can always buy tickets up there. It sucks. But that's capitalism, baby! Have you SEEN the price of Streisand tickets on her last tour??!!!!
